sting singing
pull peeling away
like light leather
layers of onion skin
thin transparencies
that held back
that held in
whatever it was
what was worth
holding on to
we hold it to the light
then lovingly let it go
so it falls where it may
out of the fryingpan
into the fire
we are reunited
delicious now
deep fried
uncovering
a battered tender heart
bringing tears to the eyes
and a smile as well
holidays of hollandaise and hard sauce
creamy chewy centers
and smokey smoked salmon
held reverently in our mouths
searing sarcastic caustic scalds
by your lustery mischievioucity
lurking in a smile big enough for two
