I watched you grow in the darkness
an intense glow in that darkness
a small point of light
spreading that light
to one who had no other love
selflessly giving that love

To me too

"Only me," though true,
was not all that was true about you.

Though darkness deepened
your love deepened
covering with love all you loved

Being "you" was all she needed
all I needed
all you needed
all that was needed.

And this is no ending
there never can be, for love has no ending
but that darkness had an ending
and it is time for your light to blaze bright,
for that love to receive the love waiting for it
and I am here, and always will be.
