You were too late for me.
The words so long forgotten.
They sat inside your head.
Your willingness was rotten.

I tried to stay and talk.
To work out all my dreams.
Alone and lost you’ve left me.
The ship is gone it seems.

Sailed away and crashed.
Sunk deep within the sea.
Drowning in emotion.
No one else can see.

Reaching out for land.
Attempting to stay strong.
Grasping someone’s hand.
But its been so long.

Hero in our mists.
A friend or worthy foe?
Will they stop to help me?
Or will they let me go?

Pulling me away.
Sheltered and romanced.
How my body sways.
In my dreams I danced.

The hand it holds me tight.
Lifts me in the air.
I feel my heart take flight.
No longer in despair.

I understand, finally

DC:

This is one I had to read several times to finally understand. Problem is the dogs bouncing around my chair do not lead to understanding. I like the upbeat finish. Thank You. Ronnie W.

~~

An ode to any man who hesitates;

Let her charm sweep you off your feet,

Act impulsively and return the favor;

Sweep her off her feet!
