"You're a fascinating man Steven Mills," she said, wiping away the last of her sniffles.
We walked next door and Emma ran out on the deck to hug me.
"She's crazy for not choosing you," she said as she held me tight.
"No she's not sweetheart," I said. "I'm ten years older than her. I'm sure she made the choice that felt right to her. If he's a dick we'll have to smack him around though, okay?"
"Okay," Emma said, looking up at me with a sad smile.
Lee broke out a bottle of tequila and the three of us got rip-snortin' drunk. "To Becka!" we toasted over and over. When the bottle was empty Emma and I rolled Lee into bed, and I stumbled home through the woods.
Kinda thought that Becka was too young and immature. She was bisexual and fucked or sucked anyone and everyone. You know she was probably fucking half of her classmates and the country.
Working out their sorrows over Becka, this would have been a good time for Steve, Lee and Emma to end up in bed together. Just saying.
Your certainly getting prolific, it's a shame letting Steve get married would change the dynamic of the story so much, but at least you didn't go the Big Valley route. When I was a kid I'd watch a western series called big valley, every time one of the Brakleys fell in love or got married the new spouse died by the end of the episode, I think the 5 main characters had at least three dead lovers a peace lol Love the life you've given to Steve and all his friends, keep em comin.
