"What do you mean?" Hallie asked innocently.

"You always find something bad to say about the girls I date. You don't even know Nina. How could you say she's a bimbo?"

Hallie shrugged. "If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck..."

Simon frowned. "You know I'm really tired of your attitude."

Hallie gathered her plate and bowl and went to the sink. She rinsed them off and put them in the dishwasher. "Yeah? Well I'm tired of YOU."

Simon laughed. "Hallie, I don't know what I ever did to you that you always have to treat me this way."

Hallie looked at him as he spread the mustard on his bread. "It's not what you did, it's what you didn't do." With that, she walked out of the kitchen.

Simon rushed after her. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?"

Hallie stopped walking and turned to face him. "Are you that blind? Maybe mom and dad need to get you new contacts."

Simon stared at her. His heart was racing. He knew. He'd always known but he also knew it was not the right thing for either of them. Her big brown eyes always locked with his. It was as if she was never afraid to confront him or anyone. She always looked at people in the eye. That's one thing he loved about his sister.

"Look, whatever. I just wish we could get along. I'll be leaving for college and I don't want to leave fighting with you."

Hallie walked closer to him. "That's not going to happen and you know it. Not unless.... well you know." With that, she spun around and ran upstairs.

* * *

AS the days went by, Hallie grew sadder. She knew Simon would be leaving and she would have loved to spend time with him but she couldn't. How could she be hanging out with the man she loved? How could she not want to kiss him and have his hands under her top like he did with Nina? It wasn't easy. She had prayed so many times to wake up and not be in love with her step brother but it seemed the more she hoped she wouldn't love him, the more she did.

What really got to her was the fact that she found no other guys that interested her. It was as if Simon was the only man on Earth. To her he was. Maybe when he'd go away to college things would change. That was her last hope.

It got worse one night when Jane was out of town for business and Sam was working the night shift she heard Simon and Nina having sex. She thought she was imagining the whole thing but no, they were indeed having sex. Very hot sex it sounded like. Hallie found her hands roaming her own body. She pulled her top up and caressed her breasts. Imagining it was Simon touching her, exploring her. She took off her cotton shorts and her panties and spread her legs. She'd never experienced sex with the hopes of one day waiting for Simon to deflower her. She knew it would never happen. That alone blistered her heart. She slid a finger inside and felt her wetness quickly ooze out of her. In and out she felt herself getting hotter. The muffled moans from the next room were only turning her on more. She was furious it wasn't her but she couldn't help and get turned on knowing Simon was getting off. She could picture him sliding in and out of her. He'd be breathless and sweaty and when he'd cum.... he'd cum a lot inside of her, no rubber, nothing to stop his sperm from drowning inside of her.

"Simon, Simon," Hallie whispered his name. Her finger was deep inside of her pussy as she managed to get a second finger in. She bit on her lower lip and closed her eyes. For a moment she could feel Simon's weight on her and his lips on hers. He'd kiss her hard and slide his cock deep inside of her making sure she took in every inch of him. His hands would be all over her body touching her breasts and his tongue would be on her nipples. She'd wrap her legs around him and cum all over his cock. He'd cum inside of her and fill her with his warm love.

Hallie felt herself trembling as she climaxed. She'd had many, many fantasies about her stepbrother. All of them had always made her cum hard. If he only knew...

The next morning Sam was asleep and Hallie was downstairs watching TV when Simon came down to join her.

"What's on?" He asked sleepily.

"I'm watching TLC."

"Can we watch something else? I don't want to watch another home makeover show. "

"I see. I think you'd rather watch The Spice Channel huh?"

Simon rubbed his eyes. "What? What is that supposed to mean?"

"I heard you last night. Could you have been anymore noisy?"

Simon blushed. "Sorry."

"Why didn't you take her to a cheap motel? You know those that charge by the hour?"

Simon frowned. "That's enough Hallie. I already said I was sorry."

"You didn't' mean it."

"What?"

"You're sorry didn't sound sincere. It sounded as if you were happy I heard you fucking your bimbo."

Simon sighed. "Here we go again."

Hallie threw the remote control at him. "Here. Watch whatever the fuck you want to watch!"

The remote fell on Simon's lap. He tossed it aside and stood up. "Hey! What the hell is your problem?"

Hallie felt like crying. She didn't want him to see her cry. "Quit acting stupid! I'm tired of you always trying to pretend."

Simon gulped. "Pretend what?"

Hallie felt her eyes water. "That I love you. That I've always loved you."

Simon held his breath for a moment. He'd always known but tried to ignore it. It wasn't right was it? They were family now. They shared the same last name and their parents were in love. How could he possibly love his own sister, even though they didn't share the same blood? He'd grown up with her. He knew her flaws. He knew her everything about her.

"I love you too you know."

She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah I know. As your sister. You've told me before."

Simon looked down. "Of course as my sister. I can't...I can't love you any other way."

Hallie's heart broke. "Yeah, of course you can't."

Simon looked at her. Her big brown eyes were filling with tears. He walked to her and put his arms around her. "Hey, don't cry."

Hallie held him back and buried her face in his chest. She couldn't help but sob. "I'm sorry. I wish I didn't love you like that but I do. I can't help it."

Simon rubbed her back gently. "Maybe you'll meet prince charming and he'll steal your heart."

She pulled away slowly and looked up at him. "I won't. You are my prince charming. You are the one who has stolen my heart. I think I'm going to die an old maid."

He laughed softly. "No you're not. You're beautiful and so fun to be with, well at least you are when you don't' fight with me."

She smiled and kept looking into his eyes. He dried her tears with his thumb and kissed her forehead. That wasn't much help. Hallie's knees began to feel like jell-o. She put her arms around his neck and pressed her body against his. Simon was about to say something but was quickly muted by Hallie's lips pressed against his. She was kissing him softly. He kept his lips together but realize it wasn't easy when he felt Hallie's tongue trying to slip inside his mouth. He felt her tongue searching for his. He let his tongue press against hers and heard her instantly moan. He found himself holding her tighter pressing her breasts against his chest. She felt so good. He felt himself getting an erection. They kissed long and wet and deep. Simon had always pictured a kiss like that but never thought he'd experience it. He ran his hands down her back and let his hands rest on her ass. Hallie felt as if she was in a dream. She'd never kissed anyone and now here she was making out with the one and only person she'd ever loved. It was all so beautiful. She loved how his tongue circled around hers and how his hands gently grabbed her ass. It was a moment so precious and sexy until they heard Sam's voice.

Hallie quickly pushed Simon away and tried to catch her breath. Simon looked at his father with fear.

"D-dad," Simon stammered.

"What in the world is going on?" Sam asked angrily.

"N-nothing. We were j-just-"

"Kissing? Making out? Luckily I came before you two were in bed together."

"It's my fault. I started this. I'm sorry," Hallie admitted boldly.

Sam looked at his children and nodded. "Just go to your rooms. Both of you. Uh Hallie you go first."

Hallie walked carefully around her father and ran upstairs. Before Simon rushed up, Sam stopped him. "Simon, did she really start this?" He asked.

Simon nodded. "But we're both guilty because I didn't stop it. I'm sorry dad."

Sam sighed. "Go to your room and we'll talk about this when Jane gets here."

Sam rubbed his temples. The last thing he expected was to see his children behaving like lovers. Why in the hell did Jane have to be out of town when he needed her the most?

* * *

Luckily Jane arrived late that afternoon. As soon as Sam heard her car pull up, he rushed to the door to greet her. Hallie looked down from her window. She felt scared, excited, she didn't really know how to feel. She'd finally had the courage to kiss Simon like she'd always dreamed of expect in her fantasy, Sam never showed up in interrupted their moment of bliss.

Simon paced his room. He'd been pacing his room ever since the incident. If he laid down, he'd only think of Hallie and that wasn't "normal." Why hadn't he just pushed her away when she pressed her lips against his? He should have just gently pushed her away and said, "No, no no." But instead he let her kiss him and press her tongue against his. Now he'd never hear the end of how immorally wrong he behaved and how he should know his limits.

Sam helped Jane with her camera equipment. Jane was just happy to be home. It was awfully quiet though.

"Where the kids?" She asked placing two camera's down on the kitchen table.

Sam hesitated and looked away for a moment then stared at his wife. "The kids...are upstairs."

Jane sighed. She took off her sunglasses and took a seat on the kitchen chair. "I'm beat."

Sam was fidgeting. Jane scowled. "What is going on? Something happen?" Jane asked curiously.

Sam pulled up a chair next to her. "Yes, something did happen. I found Hallie and Simon...um...kissing."

Jane's heart stopped for a moment. "What? Kissing? Are you sure they were not just being affectionate like brother and sister?"

Sam nodded. "When was the last time you kissed your brother with your tongue?"

Jane's eyes widened. "Oh my goodness!"

"Oh my goodness is right," Sam said. "Jane, I honestly had a fear this would happen someday but I just never really expected it to you know. I mean Hallie is a beautiful girl and Simon...well he's a man and you know..." Sam's voice was breaking.

Jane began to remember the conversations she had with Hallie. Hallie had told her many, many times how she felt about Simon. Jane simply brushed it off and figured it was all just a crush. She was so wrong. Why hadn't she listened to her daughter?

"I'll go up and talk to Hallie," Jane offered.

"I guess I'll talk to Simon and then we can talk to both of them together," Sam said.

Hallie heard her mother's soft knock. She sat on her bed waiting to be scolded. "Come in," she said quietly.

Jane walked in and closed the door behind her. She stood there studying her daughter with her arms crossed. "So, you want to tell me about what happened this afternoon?"

Hallie shrugged. "I kissed Simon."

Jane narrowed her eyes. "I know that young lady, but why did you do that?"

Hallie kept cool. "The same reason I hugged him when I was seven years old, because love him. I'm in love with him and you know I am."

Jane sighed. "Hallie, when are you going to accept the fact that you cannot love Simon that way? No matter what, he's your brother. Maybe not by blood but by marriage."

Hallie stood up. She felt bolder than ever. "I don't care mom. You know you can't control who you love or how much you love them."

"Well in this case, you're going to have to. Simon will be leaving for college and maybe then you can get your head straight and stop this obsession."

Hallie looked at her mom with saddened eyes. "I don't think that will happen but we'll see."

Jane went over and put her arms around her daughter. Hallie was a beautiful girl she could easily find someone to love her and care for her. Why in the hell did she have to fall for her own stepbrother?

"Sweetie, it's for the best. Sam was quite upset you know. You wouldn't want this family to come apart because of this would you?"

Hallie didn't reply. Why didn't anyone seem to care how SHE felt? It seemed that everyone was worried about what's right and what's wrong. How could anyone say loving someone was wrong? Her heart couldn't control its speed when Simon was around. But she didn't want to break up their family either.

Jane looked into her daughter's eyes. "You going to be ok?"

Hallie nodded. "No, but if you think me loving Simon will mess up our family, then I will try not to love him in that way. Maybe...maybe you're right about me forgetting about him. I guess I have to."

Jane smiled weakly. "I'm sure you'll be fine sweetie. We'll all be ok."

Hallie wasn't so sure about that. She already felt awful for lying to her mother.

* * *

"So if you didn't want her kissing you why did you have your hands all over her backside and your tongue in her mouth?"

Simon winced at his father's questions. He had no explanation why he'd kissed Hallie back. He did love her, but maybe not in that way. He wasn't supposed to at least.

"I already told you dad, I don't know why. I guess I just thought maybe she was someone else."

Sam laughed. "That's the most ridiculous answer you could have given me. Don't tell me, you thought she was Nina because they look nothing alike."

Simon was getting frustrated. If he knew that kiss would cause this much interrogation, then he would have never kissed Hallie. But something deep down didn't really regret that kiss.

"Dad, I don't know what else to say. It was just something that happened. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry."

Sam nodded. "You've said your apologies and let's hope it never happens again. I don't need my two children to be in love with each other."

"I'm not in love dad! I don't love Hallie in that kind of way!" Simon said loudly never realizing that Jane and Hallie were standing at the door listening. His eyes focused on Hallie. Her eyes quickly filled with tears and she ran off. He felt like the biggest jerk in the world.

It took days for things to cool down in the house. Hallie got a part time job at Target in order to avoid being around the house with Simon alone. She'd heard him loud and clear that he had no romantic feelings for her. As if kissing her back was only just because he had nothing else to do. She worked days and by the time she got home Simon was out with Nina. She was glad though to see him as little as possible.

The summer ended almost too quickly. Simon was getting ready to leave. He'd missed Hallie but he knew he should stay away for their parents' sake. He didn't want to start trouble in the house again being weakening to another one of his sister's kisses. Maybe after he came back home to visit for the holidays, Hallie would have a steady boyfriend and forget all this ever happened. Did he really want that? Yes...yes he did.... Or at least he wanted to think that.

* * *

Hallie had gotten home from work early in the afternoon and saw suitcases on the floor. Her heart sank. She knew Simon would be leaving. She wanted to cry.

"I'm glad you're home."

Hallie jumped up. She hadn't realized she'd been staring at the suitcases. Sam laughed when he startled her. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you. I said I'm glad you're home. I'm taking Simon to school in a few minutes. We decided to leave one day early just in case. You ready to go say goodbye?"

Hallie delayed her answer. She knew this day would come, but she never thought she'd feel so empty and sad when it did. "Uh...um yes, I guess."

"He's upstairs so go say your goodbyes. Tell him I'll be waiting for him in the truck." He picked up the three suitcases and walked outside. Hallie looked up the stairs and took a deep breath. This wasn't going to be easy but the faster she did this, the better.

She got to his room within a few seconds and knocked on this door, which was already half way opened. He was in this room with Jane trying to figure out if he'd packed everything he needed.

"Make sure that you-" Jane looked up and saw her daughter standing bashfully at the door.

"Hallie, Hi! Come in. Simon is just about to leave. I'm going with Sam to drop him off so you got the house to yourself."

Hallie smiled faintly. "I just came to say goodbye." Her voice barely audible.

Simon's heart was racing. His eyes met with hers and suddenly his could still taste her kiss.

"Well come in silly. Give him a hug. I'm going to take this bag down ok?" Jane said cheerfully.

"Dad's waiting in the car," Hallie blurted out.

Jane rushed off downstairs leaving Hallie alone with the love of her life. The room was silent for a moment. "So you ready for college?" She had no idea what to say to him besides 'I love you.'

Simon nodded. "Yeah I guess. Ready as I'll ever be. Did you already register for community college?"

"Yeah. I start next week. I just wanted to wish you luck in school and say my goodbye."

Simon smiled and walked over to her slowly as if he were scared, which in a way he was. He gave her a hug and felt her hold him tight. He could smell her apple shampoo.

"I'll miss you," Hallie said softly.

"I'll miss you too. But hey I'll be back for the holidays."

Simon pulled away gently and looked into her eyes. He felt the urge to kiss her. She had kissed him like no one ever had. Her kiss had been filled with love and passion. He leaned down ready to place his lips over hers but she turned her face to the side leaving his lips on her cheek.

"I think you better get going," she said, her voice breaking.

Disappointed and ashamed, Simon agreed and gave her one last quick hug before leaving the room. Hallie stayed in his room that night. She cried and regretted not letting him kiss her, but he'd broken her heart when he clearly stated that he wasn't in love with her. She slept in his bed that still held his male scent and wrapped herself around his sheets. She dreamed of him.

* * *

College was no joke to Simon. He was focused and ready to find out what in the hell he wanted to do with his life. He hadn't chosen a major yet; he was still lost. It took a while to find friends but once he did, he started meeting new girls and dated a few of them on and off, nothing serious. He slept with two, maybe three girls, but none could measure up to Hallie and her sexy kiss she'd given him. It'd been two months and he still couldn't forget his stepsister's kiss. He decided to keep dating and eventually Hallie's kiss would be nothing but a faded memory.

* * *

In the meantime, Hallie had forcefully dated Chris, a guy she'd met at the library one day after her last class. Chris was nice, had a great smile, and lovely blue eyes. He was no Simon, but he was a nice distraction. Hallie hadn't let him kiss her until their third date and she had refused to sleep with him. It wasn't a serious relationship but it was nice to have someone to hold and be with, someone to replace the man she couldn't have.

The holidays put stress on Simon and Hallie. They faced each other like adults and never once argued or tried to get intimate. Simon was secretly disappointed. He figured Hallie had gotten over him and realized they couldn't be together romantically. He knew it was for the best but somehow wasn't too happy with that.

Hallie wasn't over Simon. The moment she saw him when he returned home for the holidays, she fell in love all over again. His absence had only made her love him more. She behaved though. She kept remembering her mother's words about breaking up the family. She had to stay strong even though she melted every time Simon was near her.
