So they worked hard, they loved one another as much as any family could, and they did their best to take the inevitable bad that came their way in stride.
One thing all of them continued to do was go swimming at the local 'Y' where they did laps to stay in shape, relieve stress, and occasionally to remember how and where this thing they called love and family all started.
Best of all, none of them were members of the Lonely Hearts Club anymore.

"I will," Doug promised just as Doug asked his sister what she wanted for dinner.

and I know komrad1156 said he rarely (or never) reads comments ... but I hope he'll glance at them here and realize he's been missed and his talent is appreciated by many.
