Author's Notes: Well, after scores of PMs requesting that something happen between Karen and Alexa, I finally caved, especially once someone made a donation to my fiduciary well-being. There will never ever be a Mike-Alexa thing, nor a Karen-Alex thing, I guarantee. There's only so far money can push me before my own story squicks me out and I refuse.

For the record, Marc Okrand's first Klingon dictionary came out in 1985, so the timeline is correct to allow Mike to speak at the very least rudimentary Klingon. The expansion/addendum came out in '92. Yes, he bought it and updated his vocabulary and diction.

You'll be seeing plenty more or the Blackwells/Gordons (except poor Bif), as well as the DeBournes. I'm happy with the Blackwells, but needing some work on the DeBournes, to try and make them seem a little less yokel. Because while they're hardly dazzling urbanites, they're not hillbillies either. I'm just trying to stress exactly how different from the rest of his family Mike really is. I just don't want it to seem like they should be sitting in the shrubs, shoving berries up their noses. Remember, Karen is really taken with them as a clan.
