"Night Jessica." She steps away and hikes her skirt clear up to her waist and wiggles as if Jessica Rabbit from the old movie Roger Rabbit to claim her heels. Bending over she dances in step before dropping her dress to put her heels on.
"Don't let your dog chase that kitty up a tree." He chuckled.
"Only if it's your tree trunk. Pussy willow!"
"Go home already."

On her way to gather her purse from her cubicle office, Piper spotted Josie McKellen and her girls walking out on their way home. Seeing one another Josie stopped to greet her bestie.
"I thought I was giving the girls a ride home so you could...grade papers."
"Change of plans." Josie shared a hesitant look, "Today was rough, I need a nap."
"Ah, ok! Yeah me too." Piper glances at Dakota to find her shirt buttoned up. Without saying a word to her Piper's attention turned to Sable. "Did you give Robin and the other girls my address for tomorrow night?"
"Yes." She lowered her gaze ashamed because of her unplanned reveal of Piper's nephew Mace's unapologetic dick picture, which technically not even Piper or her Mom knew about. So she thought, of course her Mom had not only the same photo hidden in her cell, but had seen his dick in person.
"Everything okay Sable?" Piper noticed her reaction.
"I'm good." Not convincing but Piper let it go.
"Drop over for a glass of Chablis later? I'll stop and buy a bottle." She posed the offer to Josie.
"Sounds fun."
"Perfect. Love your shirt Dakota." A wink made the elder twin shyly smile, "You should wear that one more often. Cute as a button."
"I have more shirts like this one."
"So do I." Sable chimed in giggling.
"Too many buttons."
Stepping to Dakota, Piper reached in and unbuttoned two buttons on the girls shirt, fluffing her collar wider, "There! Much better." Sable instinctively undid two of her own buttons and beamed at Piper.
"Such adults."
"Are you done?" Josie scowled.
"I wouldn't be if you had buttons. See you ladies at home."
Turning away from them Dakota and Sable share a thought of how awesome Piper Cherry was. Josie? She had to shake off her nerves after everything she had done in exposing herself to Senior students today. Aspirin chasers were in her future. So was lots of Chablis, she had a bottle in her wine cellar if Piper's bottle was not enough.
Entering the Principal's office Piper concluded Carl had gone home. Finding a post-it note on her desk with a key card for turnstile access she read it. "Good job Counsellor. Keep it up."
"Every single one Mister Manley. Every single one."
Off to a good start.

SZENSEIover 3 years agoAuthorI rather like pacing things like I'm doing. It gives me room to flesh out the characters better than jumping the gun. There's still six months of school to get through, including winter, graduation will likely be the end of the series, but that could be Chapter 300. LOL!
Wait until Piper's Detention's start up in Chapter 30. Gotta cover that class every day. LOL! Get's downright ugly as time goes on. LOL! The more she gets away with the more Piper does. Same for Josie. Soon to be Mimi. Even the Twins start acting up in small doses. The closer it gets to the BIG day the crazier they get. Fucking hormonal cunts. LOL!
Genericmaleover 3 years agoI know I sound like a broken record, but this series is just so much fun. Loved all the teasing Piper did in this chapter. I'm fine with the pacing personally, since even though it is a single day you have tons of stuff happening.
SZENSEIover 3 years agoAuthorOkay now I understand you better. Here is my dilemma concerning this issue...with as many characters as I have in the series ( more to introduce ) I feel as if I need to explore what each person is experiencing during a single day. While Piper may deal with her day, so must Josie, Henry, the Twins, Tessa and Svetlana, Mimi, the Football team, the Cheerleaders, Roger Dundee, Dewey and Kevin, etc. Long days are inevitable.
I love pushing the boundaries of time. Yes that pesky birthday party is a long way off but it will definitely be worth it. Just think of it as this...when it gets here even their birthday will be a loooooong day. LOL! But, a helluva lot happens...just their birthday alone according to my plot is 12 chapters long. But...I bet you that you laugh your ass off and find a corner to hide from everyone to fancy what you read, if you know what I mean.
Just a heads up...I'm writing Scratch in the 80's chapters right now and the football game goes to chapter 91. Chapter 92-102 is on Saturday which involves Piper's river adventure date with Roger Dundee, Mace buying a bong, Josie birthday shopping alone, the Teachers all meeting for drinks, an insane Chinese Fire drill at 2AM, everyone arrested, the night in jail, Mace n Travis alone with the Twins for movie night ( riiiight! ) , and being bailed out. Shit is gonna hit the fanny. LOL!
Sunday now I will say the chapters will be less at 5 chapters. The rest of the week will be shorter too at 6 or 7 chapters each day. When I get through Saturday I might release 5 chapters in a single day reality time but only IF I'm far enough ahead.
So...I guess all i can ask is for patience my 5 star friend. I absolutely appreciate your kind words. I wish I had better news but this is how I like to pace myself.

Anonymousover 3 years ago3 stories a week are more than enough for me but I feel for this series the pace of story moving forward is a little too slow...
I mean 6 chapters for one day at school I felt was a bit too much!!
Last couple of chapters I started feeling ok that's enough go home now...
Before this there were 6 chapters for one days activity...
By this rate the twin's birthday (much awaited occasion for me) will take up to 40 chapters...
I felt the same thing while reading be my guest as well...
Not trying to offend you or anything... All your stories are still 5 Star material...
Just mentioning what I felt and it would be great if the stories could pick some pace
SZENSEIover 3 years agoAuthorI'll release no more than 6 chapters of Starting from Scratch a month. I'm sorry if the frequency rate bothers you but on my end I don't want to flood everyone too the point it gets confusing. Besides that I'm offering 2-3 different stories a week 1 or 2 of which are not Scratch episodes. I want to offer variety when I can, such as my recently added MIDNIGHT chapter 2, or the upcoming Be My Guest chapter MAN UP, next week a new Cougar House called BITCH PLEASE, and a Baby Sister called TEXAS TWISTER, including the next Scratch installment called BED BUGS.
So, look at this series as a weekly television series. We all have to wait a week to see what comes next for our favorite shows, right? Unless of course you binge watch them on Netflix or Hulu, etc.
By no means am I trying to offend you it's just the only way I'll keep up writing new material. I think 3 a week is more than enough to keep people satisfied and awaiting the next episodes with anticipation. If not? Sorry my friend. A human can only write so fast and have a life beyond the page. My wife does like spending time with me. LOL!
