Being a bull should be exhilarating, but being a bull and ultimately controlled by the doctors, the factory system and society's needs must be something even more special. If this is a form of factory farming I wonder what happens to the bulls who fail the system? Get overworked and can no longer produced, get a broken penis injury that prevents efficient milking, overly bruised testicles that produce substandard or damaged sperm. Does the exhilaration of the system get tempered with a brutal ending?
Also, how is the semen marketed? Is it individually batched and sold based on the type and quality of the bull, or is it milked into a single vessel and becomes the product of a lucky dip?! Do the bulls get paraded before potential purchasers to display their prowess. Would infertile couples get to road test the bull of their choosing? Would sub bulls be paired up with sub husbands and dominants with dominants to produce the appropriate offspring? Perhaps, having been enhanced by the system, the bulls get loaned out to groups or clubs that need an injection of fresh semen to improve the specific gene pool.
Maybe we're just starting to understand AI doesn't stand for artificial intelligence, but AI means Artificial Insemination!
