For the Brits another stone to the royal crown, to the "natives": lost lives land but no lost pride...Many decades later (MORE than hundred years...) many more young soldiers died and the Jewel returned to its owners.
Great job. You know I'm not much on the battle poems but this is really an excellent blend of the battle and the humanity. Well done, you.
This is an excellent character study of an abused life finding focus as a soldier. I especially like the way the laconic meter brings this man's voice into focus.
