I had to read it again and again to see if there were big fat clues that it was Ben all along, but your hints were subtle enough not to give it away. Great job. I haven't left a review of your stories for quite a while. I wanted to let you know that I think you're a fantastic writer. As much as I like this story, I loved the m/m version (http://www.freegaysex.com/nifty/gay/relationships/chasing-fire.html) even more.

The stories are pretty much the same except some minor details were changed. I also liked that you made some subtle changes with the background characters in each of these stories. For instance, in this story the couple holding a sleeping toddler were a man and a woman. But in the other story, they were two men. In the other story, a couple, a man and a woman, had their house burn down. And in this story, the couple were two men.

It was little things like that which made both stories so interesting to read. It was fun and interesting to see two different versions of basically the same story. And I absolutely loved the two similar twist endings in both stories.
