by My Erotic Tale
Really enjoyed this one, I found it so calming and peaceful, I love the phrase Watery Field. Nicely done.
it is very observant and so filled with detail, but also philosophical. I think you could end it here:
Clear sky morns or winters cold gray scorn
feathers fluffed and head at chest
this Heron's home, perch, post, nest
because the last two stanzas are implied--at least to me--by the whole poem, but that's just my opinion. I agree with the other commenter--it is a peaceful, introspective poem. :)
imagery you have here. I've lived outside of bayous most of my life and your poem reminded me of that here in Seattle. Thanks! :)
I see growth, and I have nothing at all to tease you with about this one. It is lovely, you allowed me to look through your eyes. NIce work MET :)
of writing some quick erotic poem, when I stopped to read this. I had to slap myself first and get out of my sparse/choppy/obscene poetry place. Then after a calming deep breath and another slap, I read it again. Very nice. :)

Art, I do admire you. Keep up the good work.
Such wonderful growth here Art... I loved the imagery and the focus on the moment. I stood with you in this poem. As I read this all I could think of was Walden by Thoreau and his writings on the Crane.. diving deep in the lake.. and the mirror of the image.. Thoreau diving into his soul. Very nice work as always this was a treat~~~ Just a little FYI... the blue heron totem is peace maker. The Lesson is balance between relating and standing alone. Medicine: Uniqueness (smiling big!!!) Blue is important.. in esoteric beliefs blue is connected to the sixth chakra ... the third eye! Insight and vision ... your poem has worked these elements in beautifully.. thank you for the read

PS... the heron is also a solitary entity but when mating season comes it adapts easily to communal living, habitats of colonies to raise young... The Blue Heron is a independent soul to be revered!
