Well Done!

Your first stanza, full of the conventional phrases of imagery leads nicely into the explanation of their existence in the middle lines. The third strophe, which could stand alone, breaks free of clich? and shows the freshness of the snow, the day, your thought. :rose:

It takes a very good poet to mold hackneyed imagery to his own purpose and make it work. >?(((><

Very good...

some well placed images. The lone crow haunting a seemingly endless search. Well done...

*sniffle*

Wonderful imagery, so raw, especially the telephone wires- not just how they look, but what they're doing, and what that means to the poet. An original thought, vividly communicated to the reader. This poem is a quick, yet complex, snapshot of emotion- difficult to do with melancholy.

Okay, now that the technical analysis is out of the way, I just have to rave, and tell you how moving I found this poem to be. It's going to stick with me for a very long time.
