I disagree, the plurals are not mistahes but dialogue. Consider, for instance, an uneducated working class Englishman.

I can really dig this guy's attitude on digging graves. What a healthy way of looking at a less that happy occupation.

Well, yes sir, that sort of dialogue makes perfect sense in that light, and such limitations don't just apply to the English. But imagining an English dialect with a hard-working grave digger's face - - - makes excellent sense. I retract my earlier concerns.
