Me, I come here to see if the writer did more than type, they he/she actually made an effort. Therefore, I start a the lowest score. Anything higher, they have to earn it. If there is nothing, if they did nothing but use the same old cliches or defy logic, the rating stays at 0.

This story is a variation on the old tale, "I was drugged and blackmailed into sleeping with other men, so it's not my fault. I still love you, let me explain, give me another chance, etc. etc." The other over-used one is the line, "I never told you about my other life (being a high-class escort) so it would not 'touch' you. It's just sex and I love only you." The latter excuse can also be used if the wife is cheating and cuckolding the husband and gets caught (it did not mean anything, it's just wild sex, it has nothing to do with how I feel about you -- i.e., true love). My point is, the story has been done many times with lots of variations but I guess the insect theme was a bit different so OK, it was entertaining and fairly well-written. There were a few plot holes. I think most readers agree that the marriage is too broken and the best counselors in the world notwithstanding, Rob in real life would never have gotten back together with Mandy.

Therefore, I rated it 2** instead of 5*****. Certainly the story is entertaining, creative, and very well written. However, other than science fiction, fairy tales, and fantasy, for me to give a high rating, the story must be possible and, for the highest rating, the story must be plausible.

First, for the date rape cocktail to work, it must render the victim unconscious. Drug can lower inhibitions. However, no drug will force a woman to act like she wants to be raped and to act against their principles or morals. Therefore, the story is impossible.

Second, being raped or even having sex does not cause a woman to lose all control and to start acting against her principles and morals by suddenly loving the rape or sex. Therefore, the story is impossible.

Third, what are considered upstanding citizens and upper management individuals are not going to risk drugging, raping, videoing, and the attempting to blackmail a woman, knowing that if she contacts the police or tells her husband and he contacts the police that they are going to prison for 10 to 40 years for multiple felonies. Considering that what they paid her plus the cost for the equipment was about $100,000 plus her salary, for not much more money, they could hire a very pretty, younger, and more desirable woman and not risk years in prison. Very pretty call girls don’t earn much more than that. Therefore, the story is impossible.

Finally, it is almost certain that he would have been killed after threatening the other individuals. Certainly, if they were willing to drug, rape, and blackmail, they are the type that would not hesitate to kill him to protect their money, position, marriages, and to eliminate the threat of prison. In fact since he stole her money and was such an ass hole, Mandy would assist by giving him some drug that would render him unconscious. They could then put him in his car and arrange for a car accident where he misses a sharp turn, runs off a cliff, and the car burst into flames. That way Mandy would get all her money back plus all of both of their assets.

Advice needs to be added to such stories these days. Criminal prosecution would have revealed past criminal acts and possibly prevented future ones. And it would have helped the husband to understand that the wife was a victim and not totally at fault. In real life the first incident would classify as rape and assault, and what kind of husband could refuse to support his wife in such a situation? Overall it's still a good story, just could be a great story with just a bit more done to it.
