Sort of written at the "This is Spot. See Spot run. Run Spot, run..." level. Not sure where you are going with it but there's no story so far and the characters are one-dimensional, except they change into big cats, and even that seemed to be a trivial development. Look up "God of Mischief and Lies", by FireFaery for an example of excellent writing. Also, skin darkness in Africa means different things in different countries, so you may want to check if lighter skin in Benin places one higher or lower socially.
