Often there are characters with whom one can identify but rarely one as sympathetic as Rick. Despite him falling for Avery and knowing that Brian is likely to prove an issue he is prepared to put Avery first by letting him know that he phoned. A genuine good guy. And I guess he is going to have to give Avery a lot of support is things go wrong.

Also this is a nicely written story. Look forward to seeing where your inspiration takes you.27
