Quite frankly I thought that you telegraphed the "confrontation" so I was not surprised with the ending. However, the father-in-law's comment at the end of the story was particularly insightful. Initially I was at a loss as to explain why the wife's passion kept rising throughout the story. I concluded that she was bit manipulative in raising her husband's level of sexual response. So the ending in a sense set a boundary on further manipulations. Interesting psychology all around.
