Did lose a few friends there.

What I was trying to do with those references was create an inner conflict

which my character had to overcome in order to find true happiness.

I could have done without it, yes.

Thought it added a bit more inner struggle, which in the end made him

much happier with the love he found.

But I am glad you like the story.
