Great fun can be had with time travel and this was definitely a new angle. Loved it.
Nice short story.
I am curious though. How much was inspired by the Doctor and River Song?
That was very satisfying. Which is more impressive considering the length of the story. Thanks
Good one. I've always liked time travel stories. I read a sci-fi book way back when once, about a guy who was immortal, with a dog that was also immortal. Apparently the dog got some kind of intelligence after living so long. Can't remember anything else about it, except that I think that the story was mostly about the future humans in the time frame the story was set in.
This was very entertaining. Makes me think about how Dr. Who and River Song/Melody Pond ran into each other, sort of in reverse order.
WOW!
Great concept, great development and nicely written.
Thank you for sharing.
Nice, original, lighthearted, and warm.
Thank you for sharing!
This was a beautiful story. Thank you for writing it. As a fan of Doctor Who and The Time Machine time travel stories are my favorite.
Sometimes great things come in small packages and that applies to a neatly packaged short story too.
Thanks, Nora. I loved it.

Nice vignette. Short, crisp and doesn't overstay its welcome. I liked how it gave glimpses through history between them. 5 stars
Such a cute short story. It’s little gems like these that make searching through all the story sites worth the time and effort. While some of the long chapter driven stories are incredible and I always look forward to reading and enjoying them, the authors that also create the wonderful short tales are a true diamond in the rough. Thank you for your creation.

Helluva story. Love time travel yarns. HOW did I not see that ending coming? Very very good.
I’d say Dr Who meets Highlander but that would trivialize a powerful story. Thank you.
As a short story, loved how much you crammed into a short pice of work. I prefer longer stories but it goes to prove your versatility.
A Line From
The very end of the original version of the movie 'The Time Machine', "He has all of the time in the world.". It took me a moment to realize that although totally different except for time it reminded me of Gordo12's clever short story ' Heredity'.
This was sweet, light and very good. *****'s. Signed: BTW
Long form, short form, you do it all so well. The economy here is poetic. Thank you.
This is suitable for the old F&SF. Lovely story well told with a satisfying conclusion.
The true curse for the immortal is watching her, any children they may have, age and die as he continues on, unchanged.
You never know if a Mortal and an immortal have children, it is likely as not to have some of them be immortal as well.
A nice story, given all the impossibilities. However, Cassius (did he pick up this name in Rome, and why doesn't he adopt a new name every decade?) since his time time is chronological, would speak Middle English, so he would have considerable difficulty understanding Sarah's 21st century English.
What a wonderful little story. Just as I was feeling kind of sad for Cassius, Sarah shows up again and we have a very happy ending, or is it just the start? Five stars
Have you read Butler’s “Wild Seed?” A similar premise and deep exploration of the consequences of a relationship like this one.
I love finding gems like the ones you have written. More about story and characters than the need for graphic sex or using demeaning terminology. You have a gift and I enjoy being a beneficiary of your gift.
What a delightful and hopeful story. It almost parallels the ancient philosophy of transmigration of the soul. Nice job and keep writing. (A Love through the ages?)
