Happily ever after!

Once in a while, it's a real joy to read a story that's well written, and ends well with well-deserving characters! Thanks!

enjoyable

I really enjoyed reading your story. I had to smile at the thought of stacking hay bales in shorts though.

Once again an excellent read

MGM,

All your work is good for my digestion! For a while there I

was worried about Katt's biological clock, but she took matters in

hand..... Thanks

If they only Knew!

If more younger women only knew what an stable, caring and sensitive older guy could bring them. I know of at least 2 couples like these. They are the happiest couples I know.

It works for old women/younger men also.

A perfect love love story

This was a tender love story which was an easy read... it seemed that it only took took a couple of minutes to read this story... The writing was excellent, the descriptions in the story made me feel like I knew the people and the location... The ending was beautiful... Thanks for writting it...

sweet story

well written, very enjoyable. had a nice pace that didn't jump into the action scenes too quick, so you felt like you knew the characters and were pulling for them to get together. folksy and erotic at the same time!

This seals the case!

I give this full marks! It is a beautiful, believable romance. I loved especially the portrayal of men who fight for nature and do not take advantage of people's unfortunate circumstances. I am an independent professional woman also in my 30s and for over a year have been considering following up on romantic overtures from a much older widower - you've just sealed his case. Thanks!

Shell Scott by Richard S. Prather.

Shell is still my favorite Private Eye. He lived at the Spartan Arms. I started reading him in the mid 50's and still read one of his books again occassionally.

Your story is very good. I am 69 and can only wonder about a 30 yo woman.

well done

A beautiful little story with real people with real values. It captures the the current era with no excess or histrionics.

Great story

I read this earlier this year but didn't have the sense to comment. Very well developed characters for a short story. Just two people finding themselves without all the macho bullshit other authors espouse. Keep writing. Your are a gifted writer.

So it's possible . . .

. . . that even we old guys might get lucky? Thanks for a great story.

Nostalgia

I normally don't read stories in the "Mature" section, but now I have to kick myself for not reading the two "Couple Next Door" stories sooner. You are my favorite author on Lit, MGM, but I have to put this story far and above all of your other works I have read. You had the ability to touch emotions in me that I hadn't felt in many years. Your description of the farm lands and distant neighbors and the way life was in the 'old' days elicited a nostalgia that I can only wish that young people could feel nowadays. It was a simpler life--an innocent life--a caring life in those days before old farms were divided up and sold off. Land was changed, creeks disappeared, old trees were cut up for 2x4s. All of that and more. And people were changed, also. Your story kinda reminds me of "The Waltons" and I commend you for your so-accurate portrayal of a time long lost.....

6', 186#, published writer. I have worn many hats. As a young man I was crazy, carefree and making wads of money. Then along came a messed up war and I was cannon fodder. From there I came home even crazier, and survived a 120 MPH crash which got me 15 years in a wheelchair...
