I had my doubts in the beginning, I must say, but as I continued to read and be drawn in I've not regretted it at all.

I'm not sure what rabbits eat but if they can consume livestock feed (grain, hay) they may have a food source for a rabbit herd. There is bound to be large quantities around at unburned farms or supply buildings.

There still could be a chance for living livestock. Any in barns, chicken coops, processing plants etc. Might have been cows in milking stalls when the power went out. The famously inhumane mass animal farms usually kept them in large buildings. Pigs, chickens, turkeys may all be waiting to be found. Pigs may be the most useful as a meat source and a living garbage disposal. Cows, meat and milk. Chicken or turkey, yum yum of course.

Hopefully Rachel doesn't miscarry. I wonder what has happened to the south of Salmon. Did the scout who returned the necklace to Josi make it back to her partner? Did he run into trouble. Did they find supplies, survivors?
