too close

Too close to the truth except mine slept with her boss. I stayed for the kids. What a miserable life. Maybe there's a light at the end of the tunnel after all.

Thank you. I enjoyed your story but it brought back a lot of memories. 5 stars.

I should have enjoyed this

and to be honest, I can't really understand why I didn't. Possibly it was because the main character was so unsympathetic? So completely unreasonable?

I mean, his wife was stupid to join the boys for a drink - okay - but what happened to as a result of it was their doing far more than hers. But, not only was he unwilling to take that into consideration, he turned all of his anger on her. He went ten years without sex? To be honest, it sounds like someone who was always far more in love with his car than with any human being.

Well thought out, constructed and written as ever - but it was a depressing tale and, for that reason, I'm not going to mark it.

Believable

How many people have stayed in a married prison for the "kids", "economics", "guilt", "apathy", "fear of trying again"? This is one of the most common states of marriage. If you talk to those who are married and they are honest; they are stuck where they are by circumstances. The prison really gets rough when one of the inmates decides to start abusing the others with infidelity, verbal and physical abuse, draining the prison finances, or any number of other selfish acts.

If everyone just "did their job!" marriage would be great and the world would be a better place.

To ythebadger

There were several times Dell said that he did not hold the gangbang rape against June, but what she did afterwards, Bringing her rapist into their home, fucking him, for the purpose of getting a daterape drug to she could rape Dell. That was completely HER idea, HER choice. She was not drugged in any way when she concocted that.

"Unwilling to take that into consideration?" He had practically already forgiven her.

As for June's conduct afterward (during the entire ten years), horrifying. Not just the manipulation of her children, her lawyer friends destroying him, or repeatedly cheating again. It's her total lack of concern for Dell's happiness. As long as she is happy, nothing matters, especially not Dell's happiness. It was indeed a prison for Dell.

When I read Stang's foreword, I thought this would be a reconciliation tale, and I was misled by the title.

I thought it'd be a story where a wife cheated, realized and regretted her mistake, and that it took her ten years of hard work to get her husband back.

Turns out instead that it's a "Shawshank Redemption" style tale....

interesting

I'm holding June in complete contempt, not because of the initial transgression but because of her actions afterword. She couldn't trust her husband with the truth of what happened to her and then cheated again with her rapist with the intent to drug and rape him. He wanted out and to be free but she kept him trapped and used any means to do so whether it was using the law, her body or even her own children. Then I found out she'd been cheating on him for 10 years while keeping him in that uncomfortable and loveless marriage. She didn't concern herself with his feelings or happiness only her own, in short June is an incredibly selfish and manipulative bitch. It would have made more sense to give him the divorce rather then waste 10 years of their lives. Was content when he could finally leave, but when he impregnated her lesbian sister IT WAS THE PERFECT REVENGE and that left me happy. 4 stars.

Wow...

prison sentence, indeed! This story has quite a punch to it, SS. Very poignant where the reader cannot help feeling for the husband's angst. Well done, Sir!

Effective turn around.

Though I'm not sure what to think about the ending. Man-hating lesbian suddenly falls in love with and gets knocked up by her sister's "ex"? A man who is completely committed to the children he sires, but will have nothing to do with this one? Yeahhhh, okay.

Was looking like it would make a neat little tragedy, stories which are capable of being good if done right. Unfortunately, what happened in the next ten years pretty much sealed it. I'm baffled, though, that some people seem to think that the aftermath of a traumatic gang-rape is an issue of trust. PTSD isn't just something that war-vets suffer, it's also intrinsic to violent rapes. The victim feels utterly violated, humiliated, less of a man/woman, and their sense of self-esteem and self-worth drops through the floor. They become emotionally closed up, and for Dell to expect that she would simply open up and tell him everything after going through that? What the fuck. The fact that he stood there and LET THAT HAPPEN TO HER is horrifying. Where was his trust? His communication? He said that she should have known better - why then did he not automatically assume she was the victim she appeared to be? Instead, he allows her to be raped and then goes on to treat her like shit and reject her afterward?

She eventually turned into a cheating slut he thought she was, but my god, Dell is the most worthless asshole you've written about yet. He sounds more like one of JPBs new manly dickhead characters than one of yours.

Note: You're back in the bad, bad BAD habit of beating your reader over the head with your TV-Land references. Trust me on this - if we didn't get it the first time, we aren't going to get it the second. And third. And fourth. We, your regular readers, are already aware of this habit. We know you do it, look for it, and get a little bit of a giggle out of it. We get the joke, cool?

Good story, entertaining read. Gripes are minor, so four stars.

Different

Well written but I find the whole premise too unrealistic to make it a great story. I understand a man feeling the way our hero did about his kids but come on...I just think this one was way too far over the top. Have to admit though I kept on reading...You are right that life doesn't always end up happily. I can accept that kind of ending to the story.

Anxiously awaiting the next one however.

1Thinkingman1Thinkingmanover 11 years ago
Who is a fault

Dell's misery is his own fault. He had the choice while his wife was being raped to confront her attackers, he didn't. He had the choice to confront his wife about that night and he didn't. Avoidance is not communication and a healthy marriage requires communication. His third mistake was staying. Never stay for the children because you can't. No one is that good an actor that their children will not see that something is wrong. How does he explain sleeping on the couch for ten years? They would see the way their parents don't interact and they would later in life emulate them. This is not healthy for the children and is in fact worse than getting divorced. So to summarize; always confront your problems and talk to your spouse, silence can't fix a marriage but it can destroy your happiness. I gave this a ***** for although some of the situation was stretched to unbelievably great lengths the situation does happen.

How soon until some reader blames Dell for the wife cheating over the last 10 years?

I suspect it is going to be a matter of time before some idiot reader makes the argument that Dell's ten year long temper tantrum and withdraw from marital sexual relations was the "cause" or "justified" the wife stepping out on him and having sex outside of marriage.

The fact that the wife through series of unbelievably stupid and catastrophic decisions destroyed the marriage and seriously damaged and HOW her husband thinks of himself as a man ... Doesn't give her the right to continue to fuck other men.

Being forced to pay the consequences for your actions is NOT an unfair punishment.

It's called life and reality

Harryin VAHarryin VAover 11 years ago
Good stiry... a Little over the top..Questions about Dell.

Yes Dell does bear some responsibility for his own unhappiness. If we assume that his premise is the truth... that Dell waited for his deranged unstable wife to come clean about the rape so that he could take action against the college boys... then it would appear that his inability or refusal to take action against the college kids caused him to have a lot of self doubt and loss of confidence in himself as a person and as a man.

However that still does not explain why he did not take some sort of action against the college boys... once he found out his wife was a slut and appeared to be unable to tell the difference between shit and shinoola.

The fact that his wife was willing to go back to the college boys where the drunken gang bang rape took place... was willing to talk to one of her rapists.... and come up with this harebrained scheme to get some of the date rape drug from them can use of her husband....( oh my god) ... doesn't explain why Dell never took any action.

As for the wife... at every possible point the story she took absolutely the wrong decision. It is a little difficult to believe that your spouse who you have been with for 10 years and never appeared to have a problem making rational decisions... is now SUDDENLY going to turn around and make a series of catastrophic misjudgments in a very short period of time.

Visiting the college boys while for young children was sleeping alone in the house.

Drinking the punch which everybody and their mom knows is spiked with alcohol or something else at college fraternity parties.

Not telling Dell about the rape

The idiot scheme to drug her husband in order to have sex with him again

Going back to the college fraternity house and have oral sex with one of her rapist voluntarily.

It seems a little over the top ...no?

Most of the stories I read here are short jerk off stories with barely enough plot elements to string the sex scenes together. This is the first story I've read here that should be called a story. Very complete tapestry here.

Basically, it is well done and mapped out. But like all tapestry it takes on a life of its own and leaves us wondering where in begins or ends. When she paid for her date rape drug it became quite clear that she had strong tendencies toward being a slut and living like one. Trying to get her to spend ten years in a celibate jail with him was hopeless. The point is that he and May did not seem to realize that there is no way that she would not play by their script. She always had to have a bit more. Note that after going for so many years without a man, by choice, it was easy for May to think that June would behave like her husband.... But she is doomed. Thank goodness that the PI intervened....

A usual good story

The way the story bobs and weaves it does mimic the way life can flow for many of us. The original husband and wife team were good for a decade in their marriage, but the wife had a serious character flaw and seemed to blame other people for her flaw.

That self described flaw was that she needed (much like an addiction) regular bouts of sexual intercourse and when she couldn't get with her husband she would look elsewhere. The convenient out for her was that her husband was responsible to fufill her sexual needs. The reality of such a condition is that she was a married mother who left her young children alone for hours to allow her to go to a party with men she barely knew and who were much younger than she was. She knew ahead of time that somtimes the drinks were drugged so in an idiotic frenzy she drink the mostly likely drink to be laced, the punch. She willingly went out of her way to put herself in a postion where she acted more like a single college girl than a mature married woman with kids, I think the fact that she never willingly told her husband about being drugged and raped is more about her own culpability in what happened.

The second instance of premarital sex was entirely premeditated and the extra fucking that was not intended was in her terms brought on by her needs. This later arguement is quite bogus since her husband was there in the room when she was fornicating.

It is absolutely no mystery why she continued over the last 10 years of their marriage to fuck a series of strangers. No compassion for her character whatsoever.

well written but

First of all to answer the previous he didnt know she was being raped til she pushed the guys off, who knows it that meant she was being raped. He should have pressed criminal charges on her for intending to drug him. The divorced her skank ass, the older sister didnt hate him she was jealous and in love with him.. I have broken all contact with a lot of women that have done far less than this common slut.

StangStar06 is one of the best writers on this site but this "hero" Dell is every bit as evil and nasty as the "whore" June. He refuses to confront his wife after the first event (WIMP!) and then deliberately winds her up until she does something really desperate and stupid again. He then spends the next ten years of his life making both of their lives miserable and illegally hiding money until he can leave her crushed in the dirt, all the time professing his love for her. Because his pride was hurt and he's afraid of what people will think. Our hero then rides off into the sunset rich, successful and with lots of babes drooling over him while she is destroyed. If this was a story about a guy who was drugged into sex by strangers and then denied sex from his wife for 10 years while trying desperately to make up with her, nobody would be blaming him for getting a little strange on the side. I just hope she goes back to her legal friends and financially rapes him back. Sanctimonious asshole...

Thank you for a story powerful enough to force me to write.

But what do you expect from a guy who can write about cars better than people?

She is drugged and rather than going to her rescue he leaves her to it. And she, after the rape, acts out of character and attempts to have sex? WTF? And them after confronting one of her rapists, she has a pleasant conversation where she decides to drug her husband into having sex?

Good grief, was that the best plot you could come up with? This was sp bad I could barely get through the first page. I have GOT to quit reading this asshat.

Loved it.

The story kept me captivated all the time and I specially loved the way it ended. Though to be honest I would have preferred if May and Dell's relationship was explained a bit more clearly. I found it a bit vague.

Dell mentions he gets a lot of pussy (which I believe refers to May's) and May mentions how she agrees with the "sex is better as part of a relationship" and I'm guessing she refers to sex with Dell. Plus the rubbing the tummy when she is pregnant telling her how much he loves her. So, are they in a relationship? and what kind?

AnonymousAnonymousover 11 years ago
Loved It

It was so much more believable than the multitude of contrived make-up stories all over this site. Those commenters who find her actions over-the-top and his reaction incredible just haven't been around enough. The strains that result from one party's cheating can be almost unbearable and the 10 year sex freeze (for him) is much more usual than some excitable Literotica readers apparently realise. Lots of couples stay together in sexless marriages for the sake of the kids and divorce when they leave home. Is it worse for the kids than trying to adapt to two or three 'fathers' and 'mothers'? Not always.

It was a bit surprising that she kept believing that they would eventually reconcile even though she was fucking around. His attitude to her first two transgressions made that 'improbable'!

The story was particularly interesting in that it reversed a more common real-life situation where the husband cheats a couple of times and the wife forgives him to keep the family together but cuts him off. He then continues to cheat but when the kids eventually leave home the wife does too.

@ anon -- chicken shit..

What are you smoking dude?! So it's dells fault that the slut couldn't or wouldn't keep her twat close? It's dells fault that she lied to him ?! It's dells fault that they both been miserable for 10 fucking years--even though he asked--begged the slut for a divorce & she refused?! Get real loser! Dell wasn't a wimp , I think what he did was awesome! He didn't go out fucking other women in the 10 years they haven't been intimate, he jacked off to her pictures while she's out getting her holes filled all because her pussy tingles. I knew the second time she willingly fuck'd the neighbor kid in her house that she was a whore & no amount of love would've kept her pure & faithful. June is a selfish, manipulative conniving tramp! She wasn't immune to using her own fucking kids to get what she wants, everything was about what June wants & what June needs. If she truly loved her husband she should've given him his divorce, he wasn't happy, he considered their marriage & life together a fucking prison, she forced him to stay married to her not for the children but for her. Her cheating/ lying is what caused the mess in the first place, so why would June continue to lie & cheat on dell throughout the 10 year prison sentence? If she was truly trying to get her husband back than why was she picking up strange men & fucking them? Why didn't she buy more batteries? Because JUNE-- IS -- A-- SLUT! So I'm not understanding why dell is being made the bad guy all because he refused to stick his dick in the swamp June calls a pussy. Get real.. I got the impression that dell fuck'd may & knocked her up, if he did --GOOD FOR HIM! Yeah I said it... For 10 years he's been celibate while the slut has been getting her holes filled with variety of dicks, it's only fair he gets to fuck another chic, why not her lesbian sister?! I don't consider what dell did as cheating on his marriage vows because as far as I was concern they had no marriage, June didn't want to accept that the marriage was over. As far as dell hiding money, SO FUCKING WHAT?! When they barely had any money she did everything she could to prolong the divorce when she could've just signed the fucking papers & maybe after sometime dell would've taken the gutter slut back but noooo, she was willing to send them into the poor house just so he won't divorce her skankyass, she didn't think about her two kids, all she thought about was being alone. Bitch got exactly what her dirty ass deserve. He left the whore broke & destitut like she tried to do to him 10 years prior. Her reasoning for going out & deliberately cheating on him over & over is ridiculous, she doesn't understand that he was hurt, he felt betrayed & she demolished his manhood; she doesn't even consider the second time as cheating, she just doesn't get it! The 10 year affair wasn't drug induced so what was her justification for them? He wouldn't sleep with her-- but she forgot the reasoning for this was because of her tingling pussy in the first place. I did not care for the slut wife, I usually don't condone people staying married just for the children but I can see why dell did it, as conniving & manipulating as the slut is she would've used the children against him, she would've kept him from seeing his fucking kids-- so I get it. I also don't usually condone spouses cheating on each other but as I said, as far as I was concerned they were no longer married, he asked her for a divorce she used her resources at work to force him to stay with her this doesn't mean that they were married, if he'd forgiven her & started having sex with the tramp again that would be different, he refused sexual contact with her, he barely spoke to her. She held dell captive in a marriage he no longer wanted to be in--so him fucking his lesbian sister in law was delicious. Way to go Stangstar06..:: beautiful story, I wasn't even sure where it was going which isn't rare, I thought for sure he'd forgive her & take her back, I also wondered how the tramp was getting release for the past 10 years & I was certain that she was still cheating. I loved dell & may.. I didn't care for trailer park June . Great story.

Reverse the situation

Throughout the story you painted the wife as a cruel person and the husband as an angle. You can continue the story by repainting the wife as someone who is generous and gave him a divorce, so that the child is not born a bastard. So now June pick herself up, going to the gym and give herself to her children and be a good grandmother. Yet she would not want any love or sympthy from her sister or her husband. Tedious

I understand that a lot of effort went into this, and the writing was not bad. But the story, like others by SS6, portrays the wife, June, as being totally stupid and the husband, Dell, as only marginally less so. The story also contained too much repetition -- it could have been two or three pages shorter while saying the same thing.

Fathering a child with the lesbian sister seems like dramatic irony, or revenge on June, at first glance, but in reality it echoes the "dumb and dumber" theme of this story. He just put himself back in prison! Since he would not abandon his new kid, he is stuck supporting him/her for the next 18 years, and he'll thus be seeing June regularly, the last thing I'd want, were I in his shoes.

And just how much sex does he think he'll get with May, a lifetime lesbian? One must believe she only had coitus to have a baby, not because she has now turned "straight." Even lesbians can have a Pap test by a male gynecologist; getting pregnant is analogous -- or was May bisexual all along, and the reader just did not know it?

AnonymousAnonymousover 11 years ago

Dell is one of the biggest pricks you've ever created. After telling June he watched her get raped why she was under the drugs influence, I lost any sympathy for this piece of shit. June is no angel, but what he did just after the rape, shows what a lowlife he really is. His last breath should be looking up at the Prius that just ran him over. She was raped, felt responsible and ashamed, so she tried to hide it. In real life, that actually does happens a lot at first, and then after they somehow get the shame off them, that's when rape victims will often get mad and begin to deal with their attack.

I had to stop reading the story when it became clear that the loving husband's response to his wife being raped was to join in stoning her to death in the public square--oh, that's right, he wasn't a tribal idiot, he has modern and civilized, so he just punished her for 10 years and destroyed the rest of her life.

Not one of your best

I like your writing a lot but was disappointed by this one.The main character was not likable because he saw his wife being raped (he said he saw that she was out of it)

But instead of understanding he wanted her to tell him to prove she didn't enjoy it!..meanwhile when she came to she bolted, indicating she wasn't into it.What he didn't bother to realize in his assumptions was that someobe who is raped feels so dirty,so ashamed that they won't talk about it to anyone, and not telling doesn't mean she didn't enjoy it,it means she couldn't bring herself to say it.Yes,she was stupid going there, but she and hubby had...worse,he treats her like shit, which drove her furtger off the deep end, instead of being loving. He kbew, she was raped but made himself the victim, not her.If he hadn't been that blind, ignoring the truth because of his own insecurity, the rest wouldn't hacve happened.

In effect, the real mistake was the attemot to get the drug...but that would not have happened if he didn't act like a jerk in the first place and treat her as a slut for bei.g raped, which sadly is still out there, the religious right believes that rape is tbe woman's fault, that they seduce the rapist and if they didn't want to 'get it. It wouldn't happen...and the rest was just cruelty on top of insanity on both their parts..tbe thing with.the sister was pathetic, too, she was just as bad....I didn't like anyo.e in this at all

I like the fact that he didn't punished her for being raped! He punished her for not telling him about it and then doing it again and then after she pulled every trick in the book and even made up new ones to hold onto him when all she had to do was let him go and heal up and maybe then get him back with his pride. Instead she just kept hurting him and cheating on him! When she opened up his eyes for the last time he had enough and left when his time was up! The best thing was that her sister, who didn't even like him, worked to get them back together ended up trusting him and even having a baby with him! What a good story! Greatly enjoyed it!

Well written as usual and a very engaging storyline, albeit very unorthodox. I guessed she had to be cheating. It would have been ridiculous for a woman to go that long and stay abstinent. A very twisted ending. Thanks.

You worked hard to convince the reader otherwise, but I still think it is odd that he saw the first incident and said nothing.

What Kind of "Salad" Was This?

Normally, I'm an avid fan of Stang's tales. I've read less than a handful (interpret the term "handful" as "5") with which I've disagreed in some way or other. This story, however, takes me beyond the "handful" range. And there's so MUCH that's either flat-out wrong, or at least off-key, with this particular tale, that I'm almost at a loss as to where to begin this comment!

When I reached the end of the tale, my first impression was that it had been most inaccurately titled. More appropriate titles would have been, "I'm A Loser" or "Misery", but basing a story around an old Beatles song is HDK's province, so I guess that was out of the question for Stang. Based on the naming of the tale's primary characters, perhaps a better title would have been, "If Ever I Would Cleave You", with appropriate apologies to the late Messrs. Lerner and Lowe.

My other impression was that this was eight pages of tale written solely to enable the author to work in that pun about "Ward being a little hard on the beaver...", but I'll cut Stang some slack on that count. I'll have to admit that I was a trifle disappointed that the kids were boy and girl, and not two sons named Wallace and Theodore. And I was SO expecting at least ONE of those three college kids to be named Eddie Haskell! And -- what happened to June Cleaver's ubiquitous pearl necklace? (That was another opportunity for a pun that the author missed!)

Where the story went wrong was quite near the beginning...

June was TERRIBLY wrong for leaving her young children alone and unattended in the Cleaver house while she went next door to join the party.

Dell's reaction to seeing June with those 3 college kids was out of character for any typical husband. He could have seen what was going on and attempted to break it up. He could have seen what was happening, and then gone and gotten his kids and some luggage, and taken off for temporary shelter - to let June come home to find her kids missing and wonder what happened. Dell did neither. He stood and watched - until he saw enough to "know" that June must have been drugged - and then he turned and went home to wait for her to drag herself home.

The "divorce delay" bit was wrong, too, unless the couple lived in New York. As the story flatly states, the couple lived just outside Detroit. There is nothing in the Michigan divorce law that truly permits such delays as were listed in the story. Even if marital counseling was mandated, it would have become plainly clear to the counselor - after several meetings - that the marriage had been irretrievably damaged by June's actions. As much as a 3-year waiting period might have to be dealt with, but a no-fault divorce would have eventually been granted to Dell, along with reasonable and customary visitation and custody rights for the children.

Staying in a loveless marriage was wrong, for Dell, too. The children would- over the course of time - get a terribly wrong impression about what married life is like, and it would negatively affect their own adult relationships in later years. Far better they see Mom and Dad break up, than what they were actually exposed to over the years. They'd eventually understand, "Your mother cheated on me with another man..." far more easily than a supposedly "peaceful" marriage where Mom and Dad hardly ever eat at the same table, don't sleep in the same room, and hardly ever say a word to each other.

Better luck with your next tale, Stang!

@Hawkeye and others -

I generally love anything SS06 writes I really like this too but i do not agree with the "hero" here - nor do i fault others who don't.

She was WRONG - yep - she exercised poor judgement - yep - she paid a HUGE price for her error - FAR out weighing any mistake she made - yep!

For the husband to stand and watch no matter whether he figured out she was drugged or not is unacceptable - so he owns part of the guilt there - no matter why he did it - he failed her just as surely as she failed him by not trusting him enough to tell him - - so how could they fix that - he talks she talks they get it out BEFORE she gets desperate - end of story lol.

But that would have been too easy - so we push her hard enough to break her - she is abused (which fucks with her head) he abuses her some more (which fucks with her head) she is already a bit over focused on him (not an essentially bad thing but still it fucks with her head). She has a break - psychotic or otherwise - it is well described in the story - and gets desperate and uses poor judgement to try to force him back - at that point there is little that she is doing that she is truly fully accountable for - but you have to have one ounce of compassion to get that -

Then he catches her in the act and she is now destroyed - we see it as she lives along and is incapable of living in the real world - she makes more mistakes and uses more poor judgement - but whose fault is it now????

The answer is no longer so simple she has lost all her anchors and her grip on ;life and he helped -

This story line could have moved Oh So Much Better if he had actually acted in love rather than hidden behind it - IMHO

Thanks for a real thought generator

Quandry

I even like Mustangs, but parts of this story are like a Cobra running on 7 cylinders. One misfire is that Dell watched June getting gang banned next door while he did nothing. He thought she might have been drugged, but didn't rescue her.

June goes from being drugged nearly unconscious to being apparently sober in a few minutes (a trick I never learned).

I don't know how Dell could have ever gotten promotions if he was dumb enough to sleep on the couch for 10 years.

It is not often that I can think of anything but praise for 06's stories. I liked this one too, 'specially the ending. Thanks.

Sorry SS this one stank!

seriously, the man in this story basically contributed to the marriages demise once he stood by and watched the 3 guys do his drugged wife. Normally I'm a moderate BTB, but this one left me with a bad taste in my mouth for Dell. I had no compassion what so ever for his "plight" thru out the whole story. She certainly didn't help with her dalliances, but any reasonable reader can see he drove her to it. I have no clue what to think of her sister and the preggo situation at the end either. obviously, he no longer took his vows seriously. ugh, sorry SS, this story just rubbed me the wrong way with all the flaws from the main characters.

Could Not Do It

I read the first few pages, had a suspicion about where this was going and skipped to the end. I am glad I did not waste my time. Sounds like the wife turned into a slut. She used bad judgement in going to the party, but everything after that can be laid firmly on his head.

He could have waited a few days to see if she came clean, but then should have confronted her with what he knew. Sounds like he should have been ashamed of himself for not interrupting it when it happened.

Not a very good read. There was really nobody to like in the story. She became enough of a skank to not like her but he was a total asshole from the beginning.

OK, like usual...

She IS one STUPID bitch. But it really WAS his actions; his revenge against her, that drove her into the arms of other men throughout the years. And at one point he even TOLD her to do it, as he obviously didn't care. Stang wanted to experiment with the idea of sexless marriages and came up with a story, but all it proves is that NO marital relationship can stay healthy without sex, and withholding it from your spouse is just about the cruelest form of mental and emotional torture out there. OK, there are more cruel forms of emotional torture, and some fellow authors on this site have experimented with those extreme scenarios, but no sex for 11 years is right up there with the worst of it. Honestly, I don't know what Dell expected. It was obvious he was only concerned with his exit strategy, the PI report only provided him with justification to leverage moral high ground, and eventually nail and knock up the dyke sister (who he had spent YEARS working his way into her panties). All told, 15 years of poor/ no communication was as much responsible for the destruction of the marriage, as any of the rest of it. My amazement, is that SHE would STILL want HIM after all the bullshit. Being obnoxiously stubborn is not the same as being obsessively in love.

Meandering through this trainwreck was cumbersome at best.

This story vascilated with no real punch other then a horny wife got drugged raped and repeated het indiscretion once more. The husband was as clueless as the wife and they destroyed the essence of happiness. A loving husband would never abandon a wife who was raped. At that point in the story, a rational couple would have reached out for help. The story never dug in to coral my attention to any positive outcome for either main character.

slut

As Dell said, to get the slut to spread her legs, all you had to do was wait, and have an erection. She was just a cock slut. The only reason she was faithful the first few years was because Dell was nearby when she got the itch. She admitted herself that she knew exactly what would happen when she went to the party, yet she went anyway because she was horny. She also said that Dell was as highly sexed as her, but he had self-control and never cheated. She was so selfish that she used her own kids as leverage to stop the divorce. She made Dell spend the kids food money on useless counseling sessions with no thought of her own children. That party incident just served to release the slut that was always in her. She never reregretted the cheating in her own house, just complained that his dick was too small for her to enjoy. The only reason she wanted Dell was for sex not love. She never once considered his happiness. As soon as he wasn't available she spread her legs for someone else. She called what happened at the party "rape" but all she complained about after it was that the sex wasn't as good as she'd hoped.Just another cheating slut. Dell deserves to be free and happy.

krosis666krosis666over 10 years ago

One of the comments below said that it was Dell's action that led to her cheating, because he refused to have sex with her. I disagree. She was a cheating slut. She whored herself to score dangerous drugs in order to rape her husband. She claimed that she was raped, but saw nothing wrong in doing the exact same thing to Dell. After that he just wanted out, yet she used the legal system to prevent a divorce. She sucked off her lawyer buddies to get them to help her force Dell to stay. She used the kids against him. The comment below said it was Dell's fault she continued to cheat because he refused to have sex with her. Who would want to be with such a selfish and conniving bitch? He was basically forced to stay against his will. Its not Dell's fault that she was a sex addicted gangbang slut.

Excellent!

This is in the top three of the best stories you have written, and you are in the top three of the writers on this site!

Your description of the prison that so many marriages become is right on the money. Whether adultery is involved or not, so many couples relationships fall apart and they simply stay married out of inertia or for financial reasons. In my job I have seen many couples divorcing right after their kids go to college. It is very common. Sadly for the ladies, they do not fair well. They either go on a slutfest, become cat ladies, or join a pack of other bitter divorced women and roam around in a herd bashing men. Men seem to do better, perhaps because they often have money and there are an abundance of middle aged women desperate for a man. Indeed, when a many is young it is the women that often do the picking, but in the later years it is the men that seem to be in the drivers seat. (something to look forward to for the Dell's of the world!) Your story also speaks about love. Love is not a simple thing in a marital relationship. It has many layers to it, sort of like the layers of plywood. Plywood gets it strength for layers of thin veneer being laminated together with glue under heat and pressure. In the case of a marriage, the layers are often first lovers, then friends (hopefully) then spouses, then parents, and finally grandparents. If you peel away one of these veneers, you compromise the strength of the marriage. If you have ever seen a de-laminated piece of plywood, you know that it is worthless and headed for the scrap pile.

Please continue to explore this theme in the realistic way that you did. It makes for a much more powerful plot.

While she was disappointing, she wasn't surprising...

If she was unable to manage keeping her legs closed after a time of only months, it's not his fault. What would her excuse have been if she had never run into him...? Clearly she'd have been out shagging people at least as much as she shagged him... I.e. a regular slut.

It's annoying to realize that while she felt like there was a valid reason to nail the frat boy, she didn't see it as wrong for her to do it every few months for ten years.

How could she not realize she was exactly what he said she was and to just let him go...??

The problem wasn't the gang bang. He was COMPLETELY willing to accept the drug excuse.

The problem was her not TELLING him about it. He gave her many chances, like the time she asked if he had something to tell her, and he said, "Do YOU have something to tell me?" and she was too dense to figure it out.

And then her plan to date rape HIM, and refusal to accept that even the proposed hand job would have constituted cheating.

There was no reason why he couldn't leave without jeopardizing custody and/or visitation.

The sex drive is

one of the most powerful in humans second, perhaps, only to hunger. I can understand her need for sex and can't blame her for it, but the issue is that she forced the situation on herself. If living in a sexless relationship was impossible for her, as it would have been for me, then she should have given him the divorce and moved on before she cheated.

Perhaps it's me but this just didn't jell for me, don't know why exactly. It seemed to be missing that X factor that can transform an average, slightly at times boring tale into a good enjoyable read. I can only say that I struggled to finish this & had to split it into 3 sessions. June was a very self centred unfaithful slut during their last 10 years & Dell, hell how did he put up with her always whinging about their lack of sex, the only person to come out with any credit was May ( & of course, a pregnancy by Dell ).

from the way that you portraid him I cannot see him not being involved intimately in this childs life and growth. Also all these lawyers should have seen the true situation and said something to June about her screwing around all these years. Me personally I am glad to not have to be in this position, but, if I were I can't see how I wouldn't have gone to violence or at the least found someone else. He didn't trust her so why did he wait so long to get a PI?

I had a few comments on this

But Danger09 pretty much said it all. Great comment.

A few losers commenting that it was all Dell's fault that she was cheating, because he wouldn't have sex with her. Ridiculous! In that case, at least 99% of husbands would be justified in having affairs, as nearly all complain that their wives never want to have sex, almost as many as the wives complaining that their husbands want nothing else! The very people scrambling to justify June's cheating, would be the very first in line to condemn any husband that cheats on his wife.

Get this straight in your heads people, yes sex is a biological imperative (fun too), a strong one at that. BUT WE ARE NOT SAVAGE BEASTS IN THE FUCKING JUNGLE! Every single human on the fucking planet is born with something called SELF RESTRAINT! Children have it. Adults have it. Convicts have it. Hell, even a god damn dog can be taught self restraint. So anyone claiming that they just cannot go on another fucking minute without getting sex, is just a person that CHOOSES not to exert self control, a selfish and lazy person that is unwilling to take any personal responsibility for any of their action, and blames everything in their lives on anyone within reach! There is not one person living or dead that has EVER been physically incapable of going without sex. No coroner has EVER listed someones cause of death as "Lack of sex". I have never attended a funeral and heard someone say, "If only Billy had jerked off, he'd still be alive!" We all have sex drives, but we also have the basic ability to CHOOSE. There has never been, and will never be, a valid excuse for cheating. Want to have lots of sex, when your spouse doesn't? Fine! Get a fucking divorce first, and don't be a self-absorbed piece of shit!

I'm not saying we shouldn't have sex. In fact, I command you all to go out right now, and get laid! Sex if fun! Who am I kidding? Sex is FANTASTIC! I'm just saying, there is absolutely NO need for anyone to ever hurt anyone else, in order to get it! We can all get as much sex as we want, without abandoning the ethics and morals that make us human. If the person you are with doesn't want sex as much as you, and you feel that having sex means more to you than your partners love, then at least do the honorable thing before going elsewhere, and get a divorce.

AmbivalenceAmbivalenceover 9 years ago
I must admit, I am constantly confused about something...

When people have something that they REALLY want (in June's case, her husband "back") and they already know what the cost of it is (continued fidelity, in her case) and for us the readers, give EVERY indication that they would do ANYTHING to get what they want... WHY can't they just do that one thing...?

Damn, if the price for their redemption was cheap either the offense was minor or the spouse had no self-respect. It SHOULD be something difficult to get them any forgiveness.

People are always seemingly more interested in getting what they want than in doing what they should. Can we say "restraint"...?

Didn't Care For This Story!

First, this was a well written story. However, I didn't care for it.

1) When he saw the gang-bang happening, he should have run over there and called the cops when he realized she was "out of it".

2) He should have confronted her about it as soon as she got home.

3) I understand his love for his children, but he should have filed for a separation or continued with his cheapie divorce. Why put himself through hell for 10 years.

4) How could he stay with her for 10 years????

5) Couldn't he realize sooner that she was getting her sex from someplace else.

6) How could he stay with her for 10 years????

7) Didn't he know her at all after all their marriage.

8) How could he stay with her for 10 years????

I also agree with the comment from Krosis666.

Thank you for the story.

As said by previous comments

As much as I agree with most of the comments here I won't for the sake of expediency repeat them except to say look at Karen , kro66, and danger09's comments.

I will however add my take, irrespective of my previous comments let me add, May was an absolute saint compared to June. She got over her man hate and saw Dell for exactly what he was, a man that while still deeply in love with his wife saw something terrible happen to her and then exacerbated by his and her own actions. Instead of maybe not confronting her with her rape yet bringing it up explaining what he had seen and asking for an explanation, he emotionally detached from her when she didn't admit the rape. This however did not give her permission to do what she did making bad decisions one after another. While people may bemoan why he didn't leave her earlier or just go out and start something with another woman, I can understand his motives in this. Since Homo Sapiens have evolved, we have what is called free will. He did not just go out to get his rocks off. He still loved his wife. His wife on the other hand loved only herself. She made it abundantly clear during the first visit with their mom. When Dell went out after leaving the kids with her, she paid them no attention but just turned on the tv and bemoaned her state in life. I can understand wanting to stop the divorce even, but in no way did she love him. Had she done so, she would have looked for ways to ease his suffering. Had she, say, maybe given him the divorce and tried to start over with him, I only have slight doubts about them not having reconciled and gotten back together. However, she thought with her vagina (doesn't even rate calling it a pussy) and looked to get her scratch itched. She could have been faithful and shown through her actions that she was the wife he deserved. Instead she kept the pain front and center for him, not allowing him to even process the incident and then exacerbating it with the second incident which was totally on her and thus negating to a very large degree the first incident being the rape.

As for the drugs that she tried to get to use on him, if I may address this from a clinical point of view, we hear about women having been raped with help from this drug, but we don't hear about people having died from it. Hell, even penicillin which has saved so many lives can still kill people who are allergic to it or overuse or overdose on it. GHB on the other hand can repress the respiratory system of a person to the point of putting them into respiratory arrest. So she, to get her itch scratched is willing to risk his life doing it. All the while not realizing the dangers involved.

Now in the beginning Dell is to a point wrong in how he dealt with her rape, because that is what it truly was. He failed to understand that over 80% of all rapes go unreported every year. Had he confronted her or the guys when he saw it that is one thing. Her not telling him is not the betrayal that he sees it as (at first in any event). However, her actions after that, are totally on her. Before anyone says it, yes it has been shown that people, be that man, woman, or child that has suffered from rape, have been known to, depending on the person in question, become promiscuous in a great many cases. BUT, this is NOT the case here. He caught her the second time when she invited her rapist into her home and was conspiring to rape her husband. Yes ladies and gentlemen, men can suffer rape. Bodily responses notwithstanding, if consent is not given then it is rape. It is rare for it to happen to a man I will give you that, but it does happen. And if she would have drugged him to get him between her legs, then it would have been rape. Also, if she was knocked out by this drug then how did she expect him to perform?

So, what do we have here, she was raped, and he was hurt, because she didn't tell him. In this he was wrong. On this he should have confronted her, given her comfort either win reporting it or dealing with it themselves via a councillor or other help, and this story would have gone a totally different way, or would it? She showed over a ten year period that she was willing to look outside the marriage to get her rocks off. So it bears witness that she was, is, and always will be a slut, a cheater and completely self absorbed person that has to have her needs met at any cost. She can try to justify it in any manner she likes but the truth at the end of the day is what it is. She knows he is faithful to her, yet she isn't to him. Now that he is gone, she says that the sex isn't worth it because it cost her too much. Maybe had she thought of that before the second incident she may still have a marriage but I don't think so. She would have shown her true colors at some point.

I will get off my soap box now and stop lecturing everyone, just will say that this is a case of failure to communicate on both sides that led to one side taking a problem and through her own actions turning it into a completely insurmountable problem.

the husband was masochistic, unforgiving, and empty

as others have said, to stand idly by as his drugged wife is raped and get angry only because she didn't tell him about it puts him in a special category all his own.

10 years of self imposed prison does not make up for the vitriol he spewed every time he spoke to her.

yes, she was wrong to go over to the neighbors party. yes, she was wrong to drink the cool-aid. yes, was wrong to lie about it. and yes, she was stupid to try to get some of the drug to use on her husband. and so much more.

She didn't do in-vitro. She told June that she got her baby the same way June got hers... the old fashioned way. May told June she was still a lesbian, but she'd found a man who checked all the boxes in the categories that were important to her to allow her to let this man impregnate her. She was raped. He seen it happening but just stoodby and watched, very brave of him. Now it is all her fault. She is well rid of the asshole.
