Please Advise

I don't want to begin reading this saga until it is complete. The thought of reading a chapter every few months and trying to remember the previous ones is foreign to me. When will it be finished? Any ideas? Hope it's not another 18 months. Many of your readers could be dead by then.

Advice (you asked)

....how about the Super-Duper Snowflake makes its own decision whether to grace this story with thine eyeballs and let the writer write as she will without being held to the Snowflake's convenient schedule?

If waiting to continue a story is "foreign" to you, you have never read a comic, watched a movie sequel, waited for the next episode or seen the words "To Be Continued"

And you know what? That ain't our problem. It is yours. Fuck off.

Advice and feedback

Starting off as a reply to the 'advice' comment below, I'm currently following 5 or 6 stories as they come out. In my experience, chapters that fast and short are often not as satisfying both sexually as well as plot wise - not to mention they seem somewhat hollow. That said, there are some authors that specialize in shorter stories, some of whom I enjoy; It's just generally not my thing. If it's been a while since the last chapter came out in a series I'm following, I re-read the previous chapter, to give myself a refresher in the plot and characters. All this to say: Don't rush an author, as everyone works at a different pace, everyone has their own lives to live and deal with, so be grateful that they're taking the time to post these chapters for the piblic's reading pleasure.

Moving right along to the review part of the chapter, I found this chapter to be somewhat lacklustre, though not bad, I just expected more. It seems that this chapter was focused on the upcoming struggle with the cloners, as a build-up chapter. While I still enjoyed reading it, I hope the confrontation with the clients happens within the next chapter or so - possibly during or after the salvage attempt on the ship. As for some ideas to throw out there, it's be interesting if the Earth technology that the cloners possess is still in working order. If the clobbers realize what Ezra is doing, effectively destroying their monopoly, and in effect their power, they may resort to drastic measures. Maybe using the weapons to kidnap Ezra, or declare his children to be bastards, and attempt to kidnap and/or kill them? Perhaps this is darker than your thoughts on the story, but with all of this fabled technology at the cloners disposal, I doubt that they'll take this insult to their power lightly. Another interesting note would be that I hope that Ezra takes all of the weapons (or weaponizable) technology with him as his first cut, if diplomacy fails between the tribes, the last thing that Ezra wants is a war fuelled by his technology.

As for the rating, I'm giving this chapter a solid 4/5, as aside from the sex scenes (a few of which were skimmed over), it seems that the only things of note plot wise was the information the Herders were willing to give Ezra about the Cloners, and the subduing of the Herders leader and her 'tests'. All said and told, I'm looking forward to the next chapter, and hope that it's restored to it's brilliance as in previous chapters.

Hope the creative river never stops flowing,

Your loyal reader,

Dennis

Argh auto correct

If you're reading my previous comment, you'll notice a few 'clients' and 'clobbers'. Every time I wrote 'Cloners' it attempted to change it, these slipped through the proof read. Sorry for the confusion.

Just finished all 10 chapters and have to say that this is undoubtedly one of the best pieces I've read in a long time. Excellent character development, interesting twists and turns, just enough conflict to make think exciting.....

I'll certainly look forward to the next ten chapters.

caught up!?

Great job with the twists!

The sex is almost abbreviated which is unfortunate however the rest of the story is quite good.

Great story, can wait for the next chapters... The main plot reminds me alot of several different stories from the book "SpaceWreck: Ghost Ships and Derelicts of Space" by Stewart Cowley. The lost colony rediscovered is quite a good setup

@JasonRTaylor

Jason,

Thanks for all your kind comments. They are very much appreciated.

You're right about the sex being almost truncated. Sorry about that. It was finished in a hurry; but I was also trying to give the impression of Ezra suffering sex-weariness from too much shagging.

Erinaceous.

The herders

(my english is not advanced)

hey, i like your story. Its rich of plot and not only sex, just the right proportion.

As just a fan opinion, and not really a criticism on your writing skills, i have the following to say. The gentle and hero role that Ezra played in the wood an sea tribe was a booster to the story and making it feel easily to personificate yourself with the protagonist, The way the two tribes had or sought harmony with each other felt like Ezra was going to save the planet. The loving way they had sex and how Ezra and others found comfort with each other was nice. I don't like the way the herders are acting, espessialy the matron. The slave/slut/whore/etc view of her fellow tribemembers and bending them to submission is also a thing i don't like about them. Why came Ezra anyway to the herders, when they were nothing else as provocking and denigrating others? Didn't Ezra had all cards in his hands as the only fertile man? Couldn't he pokered the herders out?

With kind regards

A fan

Reply to Anonymous re: The Herders

Anonymous,

Thanks for your comment. I hope you have read on to see what happens to the Herders and the other tribes.

I don't want to give anything away but the underlying theme is: What would an all-female society be like? Would female society be egalitarian or hierarchical? Would it be pacific or aggressive? Would it be sexual or non-sexual? Would there be loyal sexual partnerships or a sexual free-for-all? etc, etc. Also, What happens when you drop a healthy heterosexual man into those female societies?

The different tribes represent different answers to the questions.

The Herders have a joy-of-life that wrongly manifests itself in social combat, but also in sexual lust (hence their orgies). Solange's own preference for testing people to see what they're made of is a reflex of both her joy-of-life and her aggression.

Ezra's effect on Samothean society is inadvertent, both for good and bad. In this case, Solange (who always backs down when someone stands up to her) deflected her aggression into sexual lust, with interesting consequences.

I admit I didn't get this part of the theme across perfectly.

The reason Ezra courts the Herders, despite what he knows of their behaviour (such as exploiting the timidity of the Woodlanders to over-charge them) is that he needs their help to salvage his ship. Notice he does not trust them until Solange finished testing him, after which he understood her character.

Best regards,

Erinaceous.

I've just submitted my 2021 Geek Pride story to be published in May. It's the 2020 story that I never finished. The title is 'We are such stuff'. The story is 18,500 words long and is written in an odd style as an experiment: all dialogue and no narrative. I'm still slowly ...
