I so want the end to be different but we all know what's going to happen in the end and it makes me sad. Can you give us a believable twist so we can enjoy the thought of a future for them?

The entire story has been written already. I hope the readers will accept the ending for them that AA and I came up with. Five more chapters to go that will be posted weekly.

You do realize that you're reading a story where the male protagonist likes to turn into an eagle, right? Mages don't need airplanes to fly. Nor do dragons, for example. ;)

And it's 1858 AD; not that it matters vis-a-vis airplanes, but still.
