His stories are just more realistic than anyone else's. Just as in real life, the husband is always one step ahead, arranges a free pass for himself to get a weekend of strange pussy, and then finds his wife returning to him, desperate to have him back and ready to be the exciting, uninhibited sexual partner he's always wanted her to be. I can't tell you the number of times this exact scenario has happened to me! But I never could have told the tale as well as HDK does!

This is the Harddaysknight (HDK) of old. Excellent story and written in one short posting (i.e., one short publication). He is original, makes you laugh, adds the serious element to his stories effectively, and does basically everything else required for each story he writes. HDK's pretty consistent in composing top-rated stories. One thing, however, HDK: it would be great if you'd submit stories more often. RAG

You do the light hearted stuff better than anyone, leave the heavy emotional stuff for others.

An HDK story. With a great sense of humor and a satire knife you weild with skill, I really enjoyed your story. You can really skewer human silliness with wonderfully crafted characters. However, (did you feel that coming) the lynchpin of your story is a false ratinalization that a lawyer in a courtroom would cut to pieces: she can't, he can. In a legal separation or illegal in this case which makes no difference, they are still married. He can rightfully say no sex for her, she is not obligated to say the same. The presumption is that neither will unless they are already divorced. Obviously people do cheat during separations, but that does not justify it. Clearly you made the woman to be not the brightest bump on their marital log and she does not call his bluff. IN fact, thinking further, I would question his love for her. IF she was so piss poor in bed and he does not seem to have discussed or tried to improve the situation, I would say the marriage had been over for a long time. The problem with false ratinalizations is whether the audience get it or not. She clearly missed it and did not take adavantage of the door he opened. He cheated, not her. Thinking about cheating is not grouds for divorce. In a divorce, she was going to get half of everything and could go out either to find a better sexual partner than him or find a man who did not care if she was very good at it: of course how likely was that. And why did she feel need for a little strange: they were not talking about their needs. So he chooses to humiliate a not very intelligent woman and she is not smart enough to get it and instead tries to get back with him after she finds out her "strange" was just a sexual slug. God I missed your stories: you either make me laugh or think or both. Hooray!

I mean, I loved the setup, but it's too strained to be believable.<p>Your work ranks at the top, and a bad HDK story is better than a good one by almost anyone else; but dude, this one took a good idea and cratered. Needed AT LEAST some dénouement; it was just over too quickly.<p>Please don't hibernate so long next time; just do some better thinking-through, even if it means abandoning the Bee-uhlls.

I guess when an author is well-liked and writes a lot of good stories, he/she gets a pass no matter what type of story is subsequently written. I call it the Emperor's New Clothes Syndrome. No one is willing to look "foolish" or buck the crowd to say the Emperor is not wearing any clothing. And almost no one is willing to give a score below 100 because HDK is an author who has written so many terrific stories in the past. Had this been an unknown author, I seriously doubt there would be so many perfect scores. While this story is well-written, I have a problem with the lack of credibility and fairness that gets in the way of a high score. I agree with the one or two other readers' comments indicating they were upset that our hero Dick gets to sleep with divorced, sexy Becky while wife Darla (who may have planned an infidelity but who has not yet consummated it) is warned about cheating during the separation because the marriage would then be over. I really don't feel that Dick loves Darla -- it's obvious he feels so betrayed by her plan for an affair that he thinks he gets a free pass to not only cheat (to teach her a lesson), but a second free pass to make her a slut for past sexual indifference (diminished libido). In reality, this marriage was dysfunctional from the get-go, and there should have been communication and counseling well before the crisis came to a head. Maybe this story is satire and it's supposed to make the reader laugh because of the idea of turnabout; if so, I guess I took it too seriously and didn't "get it." I still admire HDK's skills as a clever writer but this one just did not do it for me.

Another original take on the straying spouse scenario!

"I'm changing my scene, and I'm doing the best that I can." And that's damn good.

I have mentioned in the past regarding this unique HDK's quality of walking the line of humor and serious plot. The other unsurpassed quality is the almost 100% 'showing', I mean, no long asides ('first let me introduce muyself ...da da da' for two pages). Lastly, always some mind twisting INTELLIGENT plot. Who could ask for anything more? Publish your stories in a book and I'll be the first to buy it!

straied. If HDK had made this more real, the humor would have been lost. It's a cautionary fairy tale, no real animals were harmed in the making of this story. No marriages were stressed and no one left a wet spot... now that would be fodder for another story, have the wife sleep in the wet spot... no, too gross.

As much as I love your stories, [Gifts... actually] I can not wait to read through the comments. They can be as entertaining as the tale. So many miss your lighthearted approach and are too serious for they're own good. He is a bastard for cheating and she did not cheat. They bring up how her lawyer will crucify him in court, well... first thing is where is her proof? Did she record the conversation? Even if she did, can she prove it was not faked to hurt her, in return for hurt she caused. The other woman is long gone, and would she testify anyway? He has recordings of their plans and she asked for the separation. He has conspiracy and intent. In the eyes of the court she is guilty and he is innocent. [Does a bank robber get let go, if they catch him before he gets out the door, he really did not steal anything, the money didn't leave the building. He has to be innocent he never got to take anything... hahahaha] Even with his tongue and cheek slant, HDK covers his bases very well. For those who think the guy is terrible for his infidelity... well how was she repaying him for his faithfulness with a mediocre sex life? Paybacks are a bitch!

Titles of books and songs and what not are not copy writed, only the body of work itself. i.e. I could name a book Lord of the Rings--if I was stupid enough to want to. Another humerous story with a strong meaning underneath. Before you look for great sex with another...try for great sex at home! Although in reality it's hard to get out of the old rut. It would seem that HDK has a few readers that really resent that he gets high scores for his writing. I personally think that he is successful because he has established a pattern of writing damn good stories! Sure some may be better than others to readers, but none are out and out poor. Newer writers that write as well will get their due...

When I read your story I thought it was hilarious but then I read VUCAN IN OHIO's comment and realized I was just another sheep being lead astray by the Judas goat, HDK. V.I.O really opened my eyes. All this time I thought I was enjoying these stories when actually I was seduced by the author's name. Then I looked at all the other comments, facinated by the high percentage of 100s and all the positive praise. I laughed and said, "What fools, they don't even know what they like. They are as stupid and naive' as I once was." That gave me an idea. I could take a well respected name like "X Box" and start stamping it on black cardboard boxes and people are so dumb they would pay me big bucks for these empty boxes that are poorly constructed, took no thought, creativity or time to complete and would provide no entertainment what so ever. Thank you VULCAN IN OHIO for letting me and every other reader of HDK's stories realize that we are not really enjoying these stories. You must have a PHD in Psychology to be able to assess everyone's behavior and feelings so accurately. HDK rarely disappoints. This story was a different story in a sea of sameness.

HDK's plots very rarely follow the same pattern, while the majority of LW stories on Lit come from a small number of cookie cutters, the only differences being the minor details.

BTW, the names of the characters in this story were taken from early TV detective shows: Ed (Kookie) Burns parked cars on 77 Sunset Strip, and of course Peter Gunn was backed by Henri Mancini's driving jazz score.

There's always something in an HDK story to keep you amused.

For years people have talked about men thinking with our dicks. This story points to what happens when a woman thinks with her clit. It's too small for that job unless it's also linked to her actual brain. The woman in this story suffered from a brief disconnect between head and clit.

I really don't understand some of these comments every time there's a cheating wife tale with reconciliation. Some pure rage breaks loose. But in this case it's so inappropriate. Of course this is all a bit tongue in cheek. It's all too perfect to be taken seriously. The wife is perfectly dumb to consider using a separation as a sex holiday expecting hubby to come crawling back afterward. It's a parody of femdom. Then hubby has everything laid out perfectly to take advantage of her plans. He even has a sexy gal who just happens to be available, complete with apartment. The cops arrive right on cue to arrest the doctor for being a sleezeball. Wifey undergoes a sexual conversion and becomes a willing slut. Now it's a maledom fantasy. He's even getting blowjobs while talking to his wife. It's like an X rated Disney ride, all perfectly staged. <br><br>

I know some folks have commented on the fact that HE cheated but SHE didn't. As far as sex, that's true. However, I have said that I could probably forgive a spouse's drunken one time fumble. Why? Because there is no thought behind it. So there is no betrayal, manipulation, or disrespect. Those are the unforgivable issues, not the sex. In a similar situation if your wife was raped there would be sex but no intention by her to damage you. There would be nothing to forgive. <br><br>

In this case SHE plotted all the betrayal and disrespected him to manipulate him into the separation. She didn't get the sex but IMO that's a minimal point. He simply used "Judo" to turn her plans against her. If she had not asked for a separation he would have done nothing. So he only planned to take advantage of her actions. She was the driving force. He was motivated by self protection. Yeah, he had sex, again the small part of things. Could he have done everything and foregone the actual sex, of course. He's not lily white. It was payback for his wife's actions and entirely fitting. She wanted to have sex outside their marriage and his payback was that he did and she didn't. It was perfect payback for the manipulator to NOT get what she wanted and instead the person she was manipulating got it. <br><br>

It is amazing what you can fit in just a single page. I find it quite fascinating how some authors need 10 or 12 pages or even worse 10 - 12 chapters to say what it takes you one page. The longer stories are in no way enhanced or the characters in no way more credible or the story any better as a result. The authors write well and are articulate and the story line is well figured but wouldn't it be better to be slightly less verbose?. The humor you use throughout this story makes one wonder who you are laughing at; yourself, the LW genre or the emotions they obviously generate as they are included in the comments. I think that if there is a formula for writing LW stories you have got it down to an art form. Thanks for a very enjoyable story and maybe by your writing you will be helping to put LW stories into perspective and are not taken them so seriously

Marriage is the best and worst thing you can have in your life. The stories gives an account of what could happen when the spouses drift in different direction. Shit happens people get distracted complacent or lazy. People can get offers temptations off and on. Character means everything, when the temptations are threatening the spouses must act appropriately or end the marriage. This story nails it.

Either marriage is sacred or it's not and one person can't dictate what the spouse can or can't do. She should divorce him because she will make out like a bandit. First, by exiting the family home-He is the one who abandoned the family. Then, by hooking up with his mistress, he proved he had planned to move out. Then by forcing her to acquiesce to his terms, he proved that he was mentally abusive. Do you know what judges do to men like that? They duck them up the ass, without live. By the time the law was finished with him, he would find himself with his only possession: A rope to hang himself with, but everything else, including his dignity would be taken from him.

First off she asked him for the separation. He agreed, regardless of what he knew or didn't. He didn't make a move until she pushed the button. Is marriage sacred absolutely. He just wasn't dumb enough to fall for her line of bull. He could have laid everything out on the table but then she wouldn't have gotten the message. He didn't cheat he didn't lie. He was ready to give her what she wanted. That said, nowhere does it say he has to be alone and miserable about it. I applaud him for being proactive, but the fact that he cheated on her made him just as bad as her. In fact, it made him worse because of the double standard that he enforced. Let's say that the husband had a plan to "separate" from his wife so he could screw his secretary a few times. He comes home and tells his wife. She reacts with the same indifference that he did, goes upstairs to get bags that are ALREADY PACKED, and goes to a guys house to stay. While she is getting her brains fucked out, he calls HER phone, and the guy answers. In a voice dripping with arrogance, he tells the husband that he has to call back in 30 minutes so he can finish fucking his wife.

Are you still with me? Let's continue.

The wife calls the husband back and lets him know that she can have all of the sex that she wants, but he isn't allowed to have sex because he was the one who asked for the separation. She then tells him that if he gets horny, then she will allow him sloppy seconds 2 or 3 times a week. After the husband figures out that he wants his wife back, he comes back crying and asking her if her offer is still valid.

So, now that we've highlighted the same EXACT STORY from the woman's point of view, does the story still seem fair? Is she just a woman who was proactive, or just a slut who was looking for an excuse to get some strange dick? Is the husband a wimpy cuck, or just someone who was given a dose of his own medicine?

All of you irrational BTB people who felt this story was fair, I would love to hear from you on this.

Fuck another woman behind his wife`s back! He told her up front what he was doing. He was honest! Was she? After all, they WERE separated, per her wishes. If it`s not cheating when she decided to get some strange while separated, then how can He be called a cheater? It goes both ways!

And why is it always acceptable for a wife to suddenly declare a separation "To find herself", and "To see if I still love you"? Doesn`t the husband get a say? What about finding out if He still loves Her then? Or doesn`t his feelings matter? Is a marriage all about only one spouses feelings, and to hell with the husband? He gets left in Limbo while she gets to decide if she even wants to be with him? How does spending months apart from someone help you discover love from them? You need to be WITH someone to fall in love with them! Ever go on a date with nobody? Ever kiss thin air? Ever hold hands with a shadow? Ever make love to an empty bed? Did that help you fall in love? The whole concept of a trial separation is brain-dead! You can`t solve marital problems by talking to each other even less!

Separations are not about rediscovering love. They are only about seeing what else is on offer, seeing if you can find someone better, while having the safety net of a husband back at home waiting, just in case there's nothing better available.

If your wife suddenly tells you that she wants a separation "To see if she still loves you", then that statement in itself tells you that she DOESN`T love you, and there`s no

need for separation, it`s time for divorce!

"He cheated, but she didn`t", I say, yes she did! You don`t pre-plan on leaving your family to have sex with a complete stranger! She must have had an emotional affair with Dr. Grope, must have flirted and kissed with him. They obviously discussed and planned having sex. All that adds up to cheating WHILE she was married, and not separated. She didn`t suddenly walk into her kitchen one day and decide, "Oh I know, I think I`ll leave my husband today, and go fuck that cute and available new doctor tomorrow!" The thought didn`t just pop into her head on a whim. Cheating isn`t only the act of sex, it`s everything that leads up to it too. Thinking about cheating, planning it out, and going ahead with that plan is every bit as bad as having sex itself. Getting caught and thwarted before the sex doesn`t make you innocent and faithful, it just makes you a poor tactician and planner.

They Both cheated, it`s just that hubby`s actions were marginally less despicable that hers, because at least he was honest about his actions.

Have no problem with who cheated. The issue I have is with the marriage going forward. What we have now is no longer a partnership but a master slave relationship. No balance will mean disaster and dissatisfaction.
