I am so happy to see another chapter of this fabulous love story. Ali is completely perfect for Pixie, showing her that receiving is as important as giving in a loving relationship. And I am thrilled to know that Pixie is taking the higher road when it comes to the meeting with Ruth and Milly - though it's also nice to know she has a trick or two to play. I am looking forward to see how it does indeed play out.

Oh, and I laughed when I read this, since I too have a temperamental shower.

In my mind even the boundaries between giving and receiving are blurred.

When I first started reading this story, I thought " what a happy coimcidence" that Pix found Ali right when she needed someone like her the most. But then it occurred to me that Ali had been there all along, waiting for the moment when Pixie was ready to be open to reciprocal love.

Ruth's poor treatment of Pixie was, ironically, the greatest gift she could have given her, because I believe it subconsciously sparked the desire in Pixie to find something better for herself. Someone who appreciated, and was deserving of, the gift of Pixie's pleasing nature. Someone who would nurture rather than exploit that gift. Someone exactly like Ali.

Some seeds are only released after they are subjected to fire, and I feel Pixie needed the "fire" of Ruth's cold and cruel insensitivity to free her from her shell and help her grow.

Living and loving well is the best revenge, and I hope Pixie show's Ruth what she could have had if she had been half the woman that Ali is.

No, I hadn't overlooked you, Pixie, it's just that I've been working on a story that, if it come off properly, will mean something special to me and several others on Lit. That said, being a little behind I won't go too deeply into this chapter, just to comment that Pixie's temptation to 'get' Milly and Ruth would be beneath her dignity.

Not really relevant but I'd always thought that "Revenge...best eaten cold" is a Sicilian proverb, not Klingon as one of your readers would have it.

Now we get to the crux of the story and the redemption. Pixie chooses to take a step, no doubt a hard step, to proceed in a professional affair which is fraught with challenges. Her superior gives her a way out, but our heroine does not take it. With the meddlesome Milly in the picture who knows what may happen. One can only hope. xxxxx

The soft words used to convey the tenderness that Pixie and Ali feel for each other, and the juxtaposition with the immediate and explicit language used to bring us on their sexual journey is just wonderful. I was so 'engaged' by it that I read it again and again. I love the way the showdown with Ruth and Milly is set up in this chapter, and we get a tantalising glimpse of what has become of Ruth since we last met her, which gave me a rather wicked feeling of satisfied smugness. I can't wait to read the next chapter....
