Moving Story

In a way it is amazing that he did not take her home to Momma after the first session. If I found such magic hands I would not like to lose them!

One thing though is that he really should have tried other types of treatments. acupuncture once a week will often produce a similar effect!

Several suggestions..

I got a few emails mentioning acupuncture, bruce22. I should have mentioned that myself since you are correct, it is effective.

But in 1971 when this all happened, the truth is I have never even heard of acupuncture. I have tried that since with some success.

To the others who emailed to ask which part is truth, let's just say I still am doing the search.

People like Lynn, blessed with hands that really can heal are very rare, and that cannot be taught in any massage school.

Really strange and really moving

Stories like this are the reason I read on Lit. How in the hell would you summarize this? It's sex and love and life and longing and the wisdom you only acquire with years and the pain that comes when you realize this life is one in which you can never truly win. The best you can do is win temporary victories. This is an original.

Lives intersect and lives change

He might have done well to communicate his feelings to her earlier - but likely not -

Great story line though -

January 21

I came here today to reread this tale I wrote. I have a reason.

In just a few weeks I will once again make my annual trip to visit my late friend, just like I have done now every January, for so many long years to take her the single yellow Rose.

There was another friend, also a real therapist, she read this tale and commented awhile back.

As with my story about Lynn, most of the mention of her was truth, some not of course.

We have sadly lost contact.

I doubt very much she will ever see this post, no matter. But if she does, I want to say thank you. And yes, I loved you also.

And to let her know, this trip?

It will be my last.

To those who enjoyed my work, thank you. To those who do not, what can I say?

6', 186#, published writer. I have worn many hats. As a young man I was crazy, carefree and making wads of money. Then along came a messed up war and I was cannon fodder. From there I came home even crazier, and survived a 120 MPH crash which got me 15 years in a wheelchair...
