What a warm and passionate story. To see such happiness for two divorced people really felt good. This tale was so well written and had such great characters.
Absolutely wonderful story. We all die but sometimes it breaks my heart to read about it.
I woke up at 1:30 this morning and, after using the bathroom, checked the computer to see if the new stories had been posted. As soon as I saw your name, I opened the story and started reading. It was two hours well spent.
At the beginning it said blackrandl1958.
I went straight to this box. this is what i put down ....................................................
What lovely, lovely story. I love the story, I think it is wonderful. AAAAAA++++++
WOW, what a story! Don't know how you do it but I'm glad you did. Every bit worth 25 stars but I guess I'll Rate it with 5 BIG FAT STARS instead! Love your work. Thank you!
What an amazingly well written tale! Excellent, as usual. Happy New Yea.

Five …absolutely a five! I hope I get that…but with the woman I married 25 years back and have loved with all my heart for 30!
Homerun, Touchdown, Hat-trick, Tripple-Double, Goooooaaall. You choose they all mean the same.
You've done again.
You only got 5 stars because that was all they allowed.
Damn good story. Thank you for writing it.
I like the story, but it was a rambling mess at times, you would go off on these tangents that ended up having no relation to the story, which would be fine if it didnt happen in the middle of something happening
I am so happy to see an LW story that is not written about or by a cuckhold
Loved the first 4 or 5 chapters BUT then you got carried away and got all somewhat off the track Maybe it is just me (jaybee186)
Boring. Uninteresting characters and overblown settings. Stilted dialog. And no real point or tension to the story. Not your best work.
Well it’s 5am and I just finished this story. I need to thank you for sharing your efforts, I truly enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading more of them. Definitely 5 stars!
Grandpa
You are one of the best! Loved it. Have to admit I got confused sometimes with all the kids names :-)
It's always a great day when Q posts a new story! He's Lit's 'Man of The Year' five years running! No one else tells a story as well as qhml1.
Pros: Well-written, moments of humor. Had a nice, easy pace to the building romance.
Cons: Predictable plot, not much tension. And what's with all the slapping? It's a cliched, oversused mechanic in these scenes.
Not one of your best but still pretty solid.
So why isnt this in romance? Awesome romance story. I kept waiting for angie to cheat as it was put in LW.
Simply the very bestest love story EVER! Dammit qhml1 you keep doing this to me and my favorites list will basically read right off your story list. I am about 8 months shy of my 70th birthday and our 50th wedding anniversary myself. I guess that’s why your understated style in this monumental love story resonated so strongly with me. This one is simply a pearl of great price resounding with life truths which resonate through your framing deep and real life characterizations and choices made with consequences. There is no great soliloquy stating tortuous “great” truths; nope it’s small verbal gestures filled with hidden meaning awaiting rereading and quite contemplation.
This one goes to my secret bookshelf. It will reside there quietly gaining further value with age. Then on special occasions I will silently descend down the stairs, find and remove it from its honored place, decant it like a spectacular vintage, sit in my old and comfortable chair, and again savor a tale filled with unvarnished life truth and the regal trappings of a family of true unconditional love.
Thank you for an exceptional work. 5 stars of course.
So was stating the story was edited by blackrandi supposed to do something special for the reader? It was just another mediocre story. Don't pat yourself on the back too hard.
When I see Qhml1 I know it's going to be a good story. When I see Blackrandl1958, I know it's going to be a well polished story. I wasn't disappointed. Top marks.
Solid 5*s. My only remark is that this great read seems better off in Romance.
What can I say. In "Loving Wives" you present a story covering generations. Even has a happy ending without being too "Mills and Boonish". Thank you. Cheers.
Damm that was an amazing read, The author knocked this one out of the park. There are so many great qualities to this story that if I started writing I would run out of space. But one thing I love was the commitment to family through the ups and downs, and enjoying the journey each step of the way with the ones you love.
Still the master at giving us a heart-wrenching love story. Plain folks, living good lives & taking care to lend a hand when needed. Christ, the world could use more people like this.
I loved this story from Jump. I've read most of yours at this point, and have enjoyed most. Keep on, keeping on, Just saying
A real rollercoaster ride, Q. But I think it is is categorized. It should be in the Mature category. Regardless, despite the tears in my eyes, 5 big stars. ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨
Please stop writing - I can't take anymore of these well written, emotional, tear-jerking stories with the ultimate of happy endings. Literotica needs to find another scale for your stories! Thanks for this wonderful story of true love!
Nice story, didn't care for her slapping him Everytime he said something she didn't like.
Long, long story could have been done in three.
Sorry I don't get it. 6405 Followers with a readably of 85.4.
And by Edited by blackrandl1958. And she is supposed to be good God help me.
Please wake me up mine are always in the 90’s readability.
I just perk up when I see your byline, and I’m never disappointed. Well done, as always.
i know you can't help it,but you've become one of the best writers of this site.
Marvellous! Wonderful story. My congratulations Mr. Artist. You have a lot of storytelling talent.
It is really heartening to read such a story in LW which has become a place of mud and other garbage.
Thanks for sharing your talent.
Dialogue? A lot of it was wooden, for example: "We were beside the Uber. "I think, sweet Angie, that you sell yourself short. I have a feeling you would be like a volcano, ready to erupt any minute and lay waste to those in front of you. I think it would be a good way to die. Goodnight, Angela, it was a pleasure to meet a woman of your quality." A far more annoying issue, though, is the casual vulgarity. Is it a regional thing? Where would anyone have the kind of conversation about a date that the MC had at the company party with strangers? What is it with the repetitive "head out of you ass" refrain? The author makes the MC sound like the the near minimum wage, tatted up, low IQ, low information element of my gym. Then there's the oozing sentimentality toward the end...just wonderful, oddly vulgar swaddled in treacly sentiment. This author has done better.
Oh boy..ahh, I got something in my eye..
Ya Nailed it..please keep them coming 👍👏
A true 5 if ever there was one. A real loving wife and life story worth a 10.
Wonderful story but I would enjoy it more if you defied life's reality and ended it before anyone died..
A very well written story.
I have to ask though, when did Ben become Hue just to go back to being Ben?
"Hello Ben. Let me introduce my date. This is Reggie Wilkes. Reggie, my ex-husband, Ben."
"Hue was a good man when we got together. As we got more successful, he got more arrogant, thinking his success should justify anything.
Ben Sr. came to see me one day, apparently to threaten me. "Stay away from my grandchildren! They're not yours."
What can I say, you write stories that people love and love to read. I can think of no higher praise than that for a wordsmith. You and Randi make a great team. Together you two make up over half of my top 20 story list. Thanks Q, 5 STARS.
somewhere east of Omaha
Enjoyed this immensely. Great author that has never disappointed me. Kudos, keep up the great work…
I've read and enjoyed several of your stories but this was in the wrong category. Sure, you wrote about spouses cheating and leaving the ones they vowed to love and cherish forever but this was way past that mindset. This had to be one of the best Romance stories on the site.
For those who haven't learned from experience the worst thing that can happen to an older person is to suffer a fall the requires surgery. The anesthesia can become overwhelming to the older patient and what was once simple becomes risky and to often deadly.
I don't hand out five stars too often but this tale was so well written, I had no other choice. Two nits to pick. First, I think this story probably should have been in the Romance category, as that is what it is at its core. Second, I was hoping for more of a redemption story for Benny Jr. but I understood why his story ends as it does, as it propels the plot towards the finale. Well done, and I look forward to your next submission.
Thank you for this wonderful story. It was rich with relationships, love in so many ways and how people should be treated. Reggie and Angie were the perfect power couple who were loving, caring and sensitive to family and friends. How they met was perfect. How they grew in their relationship was the way it should be for second timers. I've enjoyed many of your earlier pieces of writing. Again, thank you for this gift of writing. K
Darn you qhml1, this is Loving Wives, this story should have been posted in Tear Jerkers! - 5🌟 TANSTAAFL
Well, I finished and I'm exhausted. There were parts that seemed to drag on, but for the most it was fluid. The Benny Jr. part didn't quite fit with the rest of the story, I guess it was his lack of love for Heather, that was out of the story theme.
Damn - left me in tears at the end. Thank you for a beautiful story that was entertaining, soulful, and took me out of my world and into yours for a bit. Your ability to interleave different plot lines into a cohesive story never ceases to amaze me. Only crumb left on the plate is what ever happened to the flaming red head Angie walked into the bar that night? Maybe that's another story... Well done! 5*
Yet another fantastic story from you . To be honest I love to say thank you for sharing your stories with me and the rest of the loving wife category readers who also love your stories. Please don’t ever even think about stopping writing these fantastic stories because without writers like you and a few others this site would be worthless. So a big thank you for writing these stories ok
Damn it, You made me cry again. Incredable storytelling even with so many names involved it was easy to keep track of who was who. Excellent job. Wish there were more stars to give.
Great writing and great story, as always a pleasure to read your offerings. Hope to see more from you soon! Thanks for writing!
That was so good! I loved everything about it, ended with tears in my eyes. Such a sweet story with great characters, some drama to keep it moving, and a wonderful ending. 5*
Loved it, especially the very end. You captured exactly what I did for my wife when she passed Thanksgiving day of 2020.
It seems unreasonable that a fictional story, about fictional people, can make me cry. I guess that's my old age showing thru the cracks. Fine story told by one of the very best on this site. Grats!
