Really enjoy this story. You've brought in another factor-the cavalry. Well, they have to eat too, so maybe they are there to bargain for cattle. Maybe with a good price?? They need a break after this drive. At least they haven't been fighting off indians. Ah, maybe the cavalry is coming to warn them of a renegade band of indians?? Circle the wagons, boys. Ah well, we'll use the herd to overrun the indians??

Maria is slowly coming around. What does she still need to recognize the love he has for her?? And recognize how she feels about him??

Guess I'll hafta wait for another chapter!

zane grey move over...western genre has a new sheriff in town!

I usually just read and enjoy submissions, however this one demands my response. I have diligently read Zane Grey and Louis L'Amour over the years. Your writing is the first in this genre that I have found that comes close to their skill. I will be looking every day for your continuing chapters as well as any future submissions. I must admit that I would pay to read your work.

the groan is because of having to wait for the next chapter and not about the story...gawd i love this story. For a no sex type story it is a great read, well written as well as told in a sense of you are there with them thru it all. Honestly what caught my attention... was the title, which is my favorite Beatles tune. When I looked up your bio and saw most of the titles were Beatles' songs, I was more intrigued.

I really think that HDK missed the boat here. Last year Mark Dawson earned 350 thousand dollars on Amazon with self published work. I think that is HDK posted a half dozen Westerns he good hive up his day job....

On trail drives if a rider got hurt and unable to ride, they were bedded down in the chuck wagon which was quite often ahead of the herd
