Long Live Zeppelin...

I just loved this story, especially because you made reference to my favorite bands. And wouldn't it be great if it really were true that a new band would follow the steps of Zeppelin...

Really fun read.

I don't care that it's not real life - hell, I live that.

Now, for a brief time, I walked along as a rock band became a success and two people fell in love. Doesn't get any better than that!

Regards, Jack

Awesome.

The whole story was totally believeable. I'm a big music freak, so all the rock stuff in the story appealed to me. The only thing that bothered me was the lack of bedroom action. I know its a romance and all but you could've thrown me another bone. Otherwise, great story. Can't wait to read more.

Well Done!!

Well Done, Sir Dinsmore....

I don't know where you live, but would sure like to have you as a neighbor. Anyone who can can captivatingly write about so many different things would be welcome here for a beer anytime. You have a mind I would love to pick. Thanks for the outstanding story. Regards, Prof. Ramstein

Occasionally over the top, but a great read. Well done!

I particularly liked how you worked the black Lab into the story.

Another

great story from Dinsmore.Long live rock and roll and romance.I wonder who the front line group they played for at the first concert where.I'm sure the names Mick and Keith remind me of someone, were the other members Charlie,Ronnie and Chuck? The name of the group seems to have slipped my memory for some reason

Time and Time Again

We can always count on Dinsmore to give us a great store be about music or any thing else. His stories go to prove that an author dosen't need to put in a whole lot of sex to write an outstanding story. His insight into the music inter world goes a long way in makeing his stories the very best.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 17 years ago
Wow!

Obviously you had fun writing it! A little fantasy perhaps, but definitely was fun to read too! Another great one by Sir Dinsmore! Thanks!!

As Always

Again, You do yourself proud! I've been a music lover my entire life and love your musical stories. It would seem that you must have some experience in the area since you are very detailed in this. Care to enlighten?? I've read every story you have posted in alphabetical order. You're a good writer and an inspiration. I'm going to have to submit more stuff myself.

Keep up the good work.

Really Good Story

I like all of your stories and this was no exception. Love it when the good guys win and these guys and girl won big - true love, happiness and rich rock stars doing what they want together. What could be better than that? Thanks for writing.

And so it is....

I have always read for pleasure - sometimes that premise is challenged....however when I read Dins' stories I am always satisfied. The story is tight, well crafted and enjoyable. A dream come true in print. Reality is fine, I deal with it everyday, when I read - I prefer a story like this. Thank you very much JT.

sweet story

this story is so sweet, it almost gave me a tooth ache.

it is good, pretty good, but no the best. it misses the sour and bitter, no reality, feels like a fantasy where all is perfect.

it is a good R&R story, but i like Al Steiner's "Intemperance" better.

Over the top? So what!

Yes the story is over the top and the characters are bigger than life. Hell that's what makes your stories so much fun to read. We all wish success were that easy, or a realationship that smooth, it's the idyllic stuff of dreams. Real life almost never seems to work that way but most of us do dream! Simple solution, you keep writin, I'll keep readin, and we both have fun!

Great Story!

I loved this story! I loved the characters!

Geriatric and senile?

What a crock-- Stones in their 60s still can outplay bands a third their age, you poser!

Rocker. Well Done & thanks

So close.

I was really getting into the story for the first couple of pages and enjoying the characters, but then you had to go into the riff critiquing a lot of famous bands and having your imaginary group best them.

On the other hand, it does inject more sex into the submission, even if it's self-pleasuring by the author.

Good dialog, but the plot was a little too "happily-ever-after" to really grab me.

Yes, Yes

Only one question. How does one retire the band Nation as each member reaches 40? Does that mean that the band plays one day with one less member, another with 2 or ....

Just kidding. Really enjoyed the story. I think I knew Molly......

Thank You!

I've read and loved most of your stories.....none more than this one! I loved it! I really enjoyed the two primary characters. Thanks for the loving parents, the black lab, and the office assholes getting their just rewards. Please add more chapters....fill in the time lapses!

PS. btw, I love Dr. Pepper!

Great Story!

This story reminded me of days gone by back when the band I was in first got signed. Of course that was many years and performances, ooppss, gigs, ago. However your description of the Infamous Clive Owen was not too far off the mark. Exceptional story and keep up the good work!

Yep really well done -

If MP sees the reality behind the fun it is there for anyone who is willing to believe - he knows -

We all only wish we could do what they did - and they did it sooo well.

Details?

What details? There were none except she was blond. No real performance or travelling description. It didn't tell what brought them together, give city or college names. some of the band members weren't even refered to by name. Again, what details?

Thoroughly enjoyable...

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. Thank you for sharing.

For Anonymous 2/12/15 and his Details

Shut up, you fucking moron. This is a Romance Story that asks you to use your imagination. But your idiotic comment clearly shows that you're highly lacking in that department. Another thing that is obvious by the defecation that you spouted is that you wouldn't know a good story if it pissed on your empty skull, you idiot.

It's because you, and other assholes who are just like you, that great writers such as Dinsmore demonstrate the great courage it takes to post their brilliant work here to be criticized by shit heads, again like you, who think they know everything, when in reality, you don't know dick. I suggest that, until you're able to mentally grasp the meaning behind stories such as this one, you should stick to reading comic books, you stupid asshole.

Great Story!

I noticed a small mistake on the second page. Someone is not a "base" player; they're called a "Bass" player. I realize the spelling contradicts the pronunciation but it is what it is. Other than that "I Love This Story". It reminds me of days gone by, great job Dinsmore, old friend.

Music -pah!

Good story, as usual, but I just don't get why people go bananas about pop music, or rock and roll.

Granted, the suckers pay lots of dosh to listen to the awful noise and it makes some folk rich, but in the grand scheme of things, it's monumentally unimportant.

AnonymousAnonymousover 6 years ago

You have some very serious issues if you don't like music. Has anyone ever told you that?

Garages, front rooms...practice, practice untill we had it all tight, then...bang!

Someone leaves, things go pear shaped! Lol!

You Made My Month

Double Darn, Holy Cow and certainly other expressions of surprise and enjoyment. You really knocked my socks off with this story. So well written from beginning to end. One of the best Feel Good stories that I have read in ages. I marked it as one of my favorite stories. I will certainly follow your work. Thanks so much for sharing it, Five Plus!

Red M&Ms were practical

The band Van Halen used the M&Ms as a canary in the contract. They had a complicated stage setup that had sections that has to be done RIGHT for safety. If the M&;Ms were not done right they examined the stage CAREFULLY. and if I remember right canceled shows.

I liked the story alot.

About Van Halen canceling shows................

Anonymous is correct. In fact, they canceled a show at the Minnesota State Fair back in the 80's and it was cited as an "Equipment Issue". Most likely, something to do with safety lines that they all seemed to like to fly around on during their shows at that time lol. I was a huge Rock and Metal guy back then, Hell, I still am, but to be honest, I have never been a big fan of Van Halen or Van Haggar. I like some of their songs but I could do with our without them. Same thing with Led Zepplin. Then again, Led Zepplin pissed me off because they had to cancel a show in Minneapolis that I had 2nd-row tickets for that I had gotten in their Ticket Lottery because their damn drummer up and died.

I do enjoy stories like this with music or band themes. This and some of the other stories by this author are a bit "over the top" but still very entertaining.

Turgid organ??? That's like 'moist'! Something to be better avoided...

That was the only sour note for me in what is otherwise a lovely little romantic story and absolutely deserves it's 5 stars.

This story, so well written from beginning to end, its characters seem to come alive that made the reading of this it such a pleasure, one of the best Feel Good love stories that I have read in quite a while. Well done, another 5 star plus story from Dinsmore.

Great story - solid 5.

As far as that "other band" that continued performing into their sixties the last time I saw them was in 2003 at "Sarsstock" in Toronto - they were the closing act and their performance was so plastic that people started leaving well before they finished. [At that point Mick would have been 60.]

Of course it didn't help that the band immediately before them was AC/DC - they absolutely crushed their performance. Impossibly good so even if the Stones had been up to the standards of their glory days they would have been hard pressed to compare.
