Another great story! I've always been drawn toward the "infidelity" type, but was always turned off by the over the top humiliation, the lack of love and remorse...

Great start but extremely heavy on the revenge aspect. let's do the math. sharon-1, mark-1, jim-25 (once a day for a few weeks, call it an even 25).

let's start with mark. who's mark again? a guy who wants to get laid and puts on the make on sharon. convinces her of this revenge plan. what's jim's cheating got to do with him? if mark wants sharon, then he should fuck sharon and sharon alone. jim didnt do anything to him.

mark had sharon and he knows he can fuck her anywhere, anytime he wants. but he doesnt do that. he plans an elaborate revenge scheme, fucks sharon and fucks jim big time. why? methinks there's more to it than that. maybe mark's bigger plan includes jim dumping sharon, (which seems to be the case) and having her for himself. for what reason? his wife? his lover? nah, my money is on jim having sharon as his slut or whore working for him.

now that is unforgivable in my books. jim should set him straight, i mean real straight. mark should die. if jim cant do that, nothing less that 5 months in the hospital is acceptable.

now let's talk about sharon. she may think, "it's just sex and revenge sex at that. besides this is the only time i did it while jim did it at least 25 times. he's still 24 ahead but i'll be magnanimous and call it even" yeah right! the numbers may show jim ahead in the cheating game but it's like comaparing the destruction caused by 25 ordinary smart bombs vs one regulatr atomic bomb! by her own admission, she realiazes jim kept his cheating from her to save her from the hurt and humiliation while rubbed his nose in her cheating to magnify the desired hurt and humiliation. what subtle differences can do! tsk..tsk.. tsk

As always, great story but.... it needs a sutiable revenge on this bitch. Both parties were wrong her actions were over the top and she needs to pay for her sluttish behavior. He should take to Mexico and drop off at some workcamp & report her as missing forever. Good story. She went to far, she could have had an affair and just told him about it. But 2 wrongs never make a right, and she went two far... Love the story to bad we have to wait a month to see the end of this...

Did any of you see "Galaxy Quest"? In particular, the scene where Guy asks the others, "Did any of you watch the show?" That's the way I felt when I read the comments about how she should suffer and the marriage is over and so on: Have any of you read curious2c's other stories? They ALWAYS get back together. There's ALWAYS a forced happy ending. There is never a credible ending. Oh, there's a good (often very good) beginning, but like so many Hollywood movies, it blows it in the third act, negating everything that came before.

I really like it so far.

By now I guess the husband realizes what he threw away by having an affair. I really hope he can see that there is no hope of reconciliation with someone who hates you. As others have mentioned, I doubt that very many people would even try to fix a relationship where one party hates the other so much. Before they attempt reconciliation, I would think that the wife has to convince him she doesnt hate him (she also has a lot of shit to get over to judging by her reaction so that the wife even wants him back is far from a given at this point).

Her doing things with the other guy that he has been trying to get her to do for him for 25+ years has also got to sting. Not saying at all that it justifies his affair or anything but at the point they are at now, it would be just another obstacle on his road to even considering reconciliation.

Reasons he would consider trying to fix it:

- it's his fault (guilt)

- notice i didnt mention love here (they may love each other but both have things to get over & its hard to take the high road & work things out irl even if you still care for the other person).

Reasons they wouldn't reconcile:

- wife hates him now

- wife carried her grudge for months when he was trying to do things with her & improve their marriage (likely just feeling guilty and afraid he was gonna get caught but she still held onto her pain for months - dont let him get over his at the drop of a hat).

- wife wouldnt expand their sex life for their whole marriage but now she becomes uninhibited with another man. No matter what the reason, most guys would be upset over this IRL. People are not often able to divorce themselves from a situation and look at things objectively. He's much more likely to dwell on his hurt & rationalize away his part in it than he is to sit back and consider his wife may have got carried away because she was so hurt. He is likely to blame his original affair on her refusal to loosen up (rationalizing and I dont agree).

- even if she comes back and tries to convince him she loves him & will be an uninhibited wild-woman, he is more likely to cut off his nose in spite of his face than he is to look at things calmly.

Emotions get in the way sometimes. Maybe we readers can see that a wife that loves him & decides to finally cut loose in the bedroom is the best of both worlds but the husband is far less likely to see that than we are. He is more likely to act petulant, dwell on the negative & refuse to listen to reason even if it turns out he is throwing away everything he ever wanted (assuming the wife really does feel remorse, does love him & just was overcome by the pain of his betrayal etc). A real person is much more likely to go his own way & try to look for someone else even if he's starting out at a deficit & walking away from everything he's looking for.

i.e. stories where husband wants to try swinging or swapping but wife refuses. Later wife is caught having an affair. The guy is more likely to divorce her and look for someone else than he is to be glad that he now gets to screw others. Even if its kinda what he wanted (having sex with others, minus the lying etc) all along, he is more likely to be upset than happy IMO. Real people just act this way even if its not rational. He could be excited to be getting what he always wanted but more likely he will dwell on the lies and think that he has been missing out (wife got to have sex with others but lied to him & he remained faithful while he could have been having his fun too) even if he’s not mad about the actual sex. Instead of saying to himself ‘Now I have everything I wanted’, he would be more prone to chucking it all in a fit of pique even if he ends up looking for someone exactly like his ex.

I do like happily ever after & I think its still possible to get a plausible & satisfying happy ending from this story (more likely not to though but this is fiction so we can cheer for the long-shots right?). If they do reconcile though (and go on to have a wild & fulfilling sex life), I hope its not as easy as him moving to a motel for a couple days then showing up apologizing to the wife & wanting to fix things. My desire to see the guy get indignant is not because I think he is in the right or anything, its just because I want to see a less than perfect guy in one of the stories.

Constructively - Talented Author - But most commentators feel that no matter how terribly offended a spouse is - no matter how badly mistreated mentally or as in this case physically - you will contort or twist about what is known to cause not only forgiveness but guilt and a condesending reaction by the blattently offended wimpy husband.

Having read many of your works now I agree with them - that you sacrifice author self respect and ruin many great stories by irrational conclusions but only in marital cheating scenarios. Why is that?

Puzzling but intriguing as to why? My conclusions are the possiblities of several.

Perhaps you feel that you can wring out more continued interest and emotion by that hoped for reunion. My confusion there is that you spend little time or space to walk around in it, it's ususally a very unsatisfying and unacceptable rapid fire capitualization by the offended male warmly forgeting or accepting most of the blame or the author induced new irrationally inexsplicable criteria to dampen blame. This backflop and irrationality leaves my self and many readers upset and grasping for the why - why would an author prostitute an ending so warped and irrational thus constantly ruining an entertaining time consuming effort???

Or perhaps the ensuing negative controversy is the reached for objective rather than honors and appreciation as a respected author? This doesn't make any more sense than the endings themselves. This couldn't be it or could it? That would be kind of sick.

Lastly in my mind, is that author interest and attention to detail is highest in story contemplation, rough outline formulation and initial delivery then slackens as a story moves into chapter after chapter, etc.. That may explain why this and many other authors are good openers but inadequete closers but it doesn't explain the consistant irrational forgiving attitude by the offended spouse. Nor the minipulated reunion emotions of quick unreasonable capitulation and endings. Or does it?

Hmmm. In any case a real waste of talent submerged in the sludge of non-reality. Getting real close to the time for a "00" non-read non-comment to avoid the eventual predictable frustration of closing nonsense.

How many of you read both chapters?

In chapter 1, the author tells us:

"One night we had a fight of sorts over sex. A first for us. I came home and wanted to play and Sharon had enough. She read me the riot act over my increasing sex drive and how tired she was taking care of the house. I fired off something about her body and how she had let herself go too far. I felt bad as I slept on the couch that night. I had hurt her feelings not meaning to.

In this chapter he says:

Enjoyed the story and in fact read it twice and chapter two 5 times. Just to see what others thought I reviewed the comments of others. Your stories are good and have a way of capturing the reader, isn't that what story writing is about.

Feelings and emotions always play in human interaction and relationships. But somethings just can't be fixed and when vows are made and not kept how can that relationship survive.

The person envolved here (mark), I would like to see him get his comupances here for I feel he had something to gain.

I did not really consider what she did as cheating, he pretty well gave up any rights to fidelity when he cheated. What she did was to totally betray the trust he had in her. He trusted her enough to let her tie him up, then she subjected him to the torture of watching her give her body to her lover in all the ways she refused him during their marriage. I know from his other stories that he will write it in such a way that it will smooth all the ruffled feelings and still have both Jim and Sharon geting back together after some indepth face to face dialogue. PLEASE finish it - you know that this story cries out for another concluding chapter. It would be sadistic if you let all of your fans hanging in the air this way.

I like the way you have Sharon serve as the anrrator in this chapter; sort of balances things out from the previous chapter. We get a sense of where she's coming from and can understand how she contributed to driving Jim off even though she's not yet aware of it.

I do think that Kanga40 raises a good point about the timeline. In the previous chapter, Jim hadn't yet begun to cheat when they had a big fight. In this chapter the fight happens well after she is aware of his cheating. Need to talk your way out of this in a leter chapter.

You make it plain that Jim was no longer cheating and was stewing in guilt over his screw-up. But Sharon didn't get it; she could have had her affair discretely and then they could have moved beyond their affairs. But no, she had to flaunt it in front of Jim; and worse, to rub it in and mock him. She went way over the top and Jim was right to pack his clothes.

What a mess you left us with. Now that Chapt 3's here, we can move on and then.....?
