A warmly rendered portrait. I’d be proud to include a man like Jimmy among my friends. Thanks very much.
Great story! Short, well written, a well-deserved happy end to deserving person. Thank you!
Wow! This a great story. I cannot say anything else except that as someone who has himself become disabled after having his normal life taken from him I love the resiliency of the friend.
That was really outstanding. Thank you for a gorgeous little portrait of a good man.
Excellent! There is a satisfaction in humiliating the Ex in the process of divorce. The Ex in all their high and mighty ego and you get to court and you have so much damning evidence that their so humiliated they have to move to a different country, 7000 miles away to be shy of it. She's been through at least three more husbands that I know of, through my best friend and brother in law. Her pussy just wasn't worth it. 5 BIG ASS FUCKING HUGE FLAMING NOVA STARS! Thank you for making me laugh once more.
Hmmm, this would have fit the LW genre too. Many Veteran's have the same basic story (except maybe not the loss of a limb). Mine is near same but for the limb after I returned from Nam.

6******, Hooyah, many Salutes, we are not all crazy returning Vets but we have much to put in compartmental cubbyholes.
What a gem of a story. I am curious about the time they were wed and the number of kids they had "married two years later. She gave him three children"? Guess there could have been a set of twins in there. Like they say, the first one can come at anytime, the rest of them take nine months. That's still pushing things back to back, LOL.
Like the point of view. I’ll have to think about using it. Well done, 5, as always.
True. Hanna was a party girl. The party ended, and she left.
Sadly, she could have used her party spirit to build Jimmy up.

Thank you, everyone. I confess that writing this was a joy for me. I've known a Jimmy or two, and I wanted to celebrate their lives with a little piece of fiction informed by reality.
A very brave, tough and honorable man.
His first wife. A complete slut. HE discarded her like an empty magazine as with less concern.
A very good man who prevailed.
Great story.
very good, thought provoking about life's handicaps. Love the "Pirate Family"
We all need a friend like this in our lives. Great story. The pirate family image is wonderful. BardnotBard
