It wasn't long before almost all of the contents of the refrigerator were on the floor. Finally there was one container left, she slowly opened it and sniffed. The contents of the container smelled heavenly, it was a raw porterhouse steak that she was going to cook in celebration of buying her first brand new car. She took a large bite of the meet sighing with relief as the blood from the meat trickled down her throat. By the time the steak was half eaten the cramps while still present were manageable.

When the steak was consumed, Justine looked down at herself and then at the mess in the kitchen. Her next thought was about Pam, "Where are you?" she asked as she stood up and stretched. She called Pam's house and began to worry when the phone rang several times. Not knowing what else to do, she decided to get dressed and to go over to Pam's apartment.

She dressed as she normally would for the cold weather and then stripped opting to go with a sweat suit and even then she felt too warm. She grabbed her cell phone and keys and left her apartment to walk to Pam's. She could have taken the bus but something told her that she and the people on the bus wouldn't be safe. As she walked a word came to her mind.

Vampire.

********

Malcolm circled Pam pinching her nipples as he passed by.

"Stop that!" Pam exclaimed.

Malcolm didn't respond but continued to circle Pam assessing her.

"That isn't what you think at work." he said smugly, "At the office you wonder what I look like underneath my suit."

"No I...."

"Don't lie." Malcolm interrupted, "You are also jealous of your friend, you think that it is her that I want."

Pam didn't bother to deny it.

"What else do you wonder about?" he asked not really expecting an answer.

"What do you want from me?" Pam asked getting angry.

"Tell me love, are you hungry?"

"What do you want and why can't I move?" Pam asked.

"Why don't I feed you first?" Malcolm asked as he took off his suit jacket.

"What are you doing?" Pam asked as Malcolm bit into his wrist.

"Drink up!" Malcolm said cheerfully as he put his wrist to Pam's mouth.

At first she tried to resist but when the first drop of blood touched her lips she gave up and drank from him moaning in pleasure as the hunger pains began to diminish. She now knew what she and Justine were and she wanted to know if he had been the one to turn them and what he wanted from them.

"Enough!" Malcolm said as he removed his wrist. "Better?"

"Y...Yes." Pam replied feeling disgusted with herself.

"Good and don't worry, the feeling of disgust will soon pass." Malcolm assured her.

"What do you want with us?"

"There is no us, your friend was an accident, it was only you that we were interested in." Malcolm replied.

"What are you talking about??

"That pain in the ass friend of yours was supposed to die and you were to be brought to us."

"Us? Who are us?"

"You will see but for now I am going to collect my reward and I promise you will enjoy it."

Pam tried to move but couldn't.

"Just the other day you were wondering what my lips would feel like on your nipples weren't you?" Malcolm asked, "And tell the truth, I command it."

"Yes." Pam whispered wishing that she had never had those thoughts.

"Would you still like to know?"

"N....yes."

Pam closed her eyes as Malcolm bent down and licked one nipple and then the other and watched as they turned into hardened peaks.

"You are already wet, I can smell it." he said as he took a nipple into his mouth and sucked gently at first and then harder as he pinched and rolled the other nipple between his fingers.

"Malcolm.... Please stop!"

"Is that what you want?" he asked releasing the nipples from his mouth and hand.

"Y....yes." Pam sobbed.

"As you wish but I should warn you that where you are going your wishes may not mean much."

"Where am I going?"

"Right now, with me until you are ready." Malcolm replied as he put his jacket back on.

**********

The hunger was coming back and she had no way to satisfy it. Pam's apartment wasn't too much further and Justine was surprised by how fast she had gotten there. With each step she took, the cramps grew; she was expending energy and not replacing it.

She had acknowledged what she was and wondered when it happened and who was responsible but that wasn't the priority right now, anyone out in the street was in danger. The only thing that she could think of was to go down into the subway where there were rats. She didn't relish the thought of drinking rat blood but what other choice did she have? Her next question was how did she know so much, she loved watching dark shadows and the Dracula movies is that where the knowledge came from? The other question was why was she accepting this so easily?

"Delayed reaction." she muttered, "More important things to worry about."

She looked around and saw no one as she stumbled down the stairs to the subway, it was much too cold for people to be out she realized as she looked around again. She went to a bench, got on her hands and knees and looked beneath the bench.

"Shit!" she cursed and then whispered "come out come out wherever you are!" a moment later, she saw a pair of beady eyes looking back at her. She blinked in shock but recovered quickly, "Come on you ugly bastard!" she hissed forgetting that she was terrified of rodents.

The rat looked at Justine's hand and inched toward her, squealing when her hand shot out and wrapped around its neck crushing it. Justine looked around to see if anyone had been watching, seeing no one she carried the dead rat to the far end of the station and drank. A part of her was repulsed by what she was doing but another part of her accepted it as survival. Question after question popped into her head as she drank from the dead rat. She thought about calling another one to her but decided that she needed to get to Pam, she would be scared shitless.

Feeling energized after her meal Justine made her way to Pam's apartment bypassing security without really knowing how she did it but adding that to the list of questions that she had. When she got to Pam's fifth floor apartment, she tapped on the door already knowing that Pam wouldn't answer.

She touched the doorknob and the door opened. Cautiously she stepped inside and looked around; Pam had been here and not that long ago. If she hadn't stopped..... Someone had been here with her Justine realized, she smelled blood but.... It wasn't human.

Whoever had Pam wasn't human and they had left no trace of where they would have gone. Justine closed the windows and locked them before she left. She knew that she had to eat again before she went home, rats were an option but it was getting late, people who had to be at work early would soon start filling the bus and subway stations thus increasing her chances of being spotted. She looked around and got her bearings, there were several areas in the city where there were vacant houses where stray cats and other animals lived. The only thing that she would have to be careful of is the homeless that sometimes lived in the vacant houses to escape the weather but she saw no other choice. Instinct also told her that she needed to find someone who could help her understand what happened and could teach her how to manage her new lifestyle. Once again she wondered about the ease in which she was adjusting to this way of life, it was almost as if she had done this before. She wondered about the sunlight thing and decided that she didn't want to find out just yet. She quickly made her way to the closest vacant house and slipped inside watching and listening for any signs of human life.

When she was satisfied that no humans were there, she issued her call for whatever animals were in the house. There were enough strays that she didn't have to kill any and for that she was glad, she really hadn't wanted to kill the rat but she needed all of the nourishment that it could give her. Finally sated, she left for home making it just before the sun rose over the horizon.

She ran to her bedroom and closed the drapes and reinforced them with blankets. She felt her body grow heavy and like the morning before she barely made it to the bed before she was asleep. Her last conscious thought was that she needed to find another place to live, she was vulnerable here.

********

Mr. Jeremiah Mathers was furious, Justine Graves was supposed to be dead and out of his hair but she was turned. The guilty vampire was already past history, the only one that was to be turned was the friend Pamela, she fit the requirements of a friend of one of one of his customers, she was petite and looked younger than her thirty-four years of age, blonde hair and blue eyes were a must as well as a somewhat submissive personality. At least that was successful thanks to Malcolm who was rewarded by being able to train her.

The woman was actually quite lucky; the vampire who wanted her was actually very gentle.... As long as the female gave herself willingly. As long as she met that requirement her future was secure and safe but it would be up to Malcolm to make sure that she understood that.

The pressing problem was Justine; he knew that there was something different about her as soon as he saw her over a year ago. He only hired her because she intrigued him but now he wished that he had let her go. at first he thought it was because he sensed a will of iron beneath the soft exterior and that intrigued him, then he thought it was because she was a barracuda in the courtroom out maneuvering attorney's with decades more experience than she had then he thought it was a physical attraction, he liked how her eyes flashed when she was angry and the way she chewed on her lower lip when she was thinking but it was more than that, there was something very different about her and now he thought he knew what it was- she was dangerous and could be his downfall.

It didn't occur to him that if he were to let Pam go, Justine would no longer be a problem. He had been in business for well over seven hundred years and he had never let anyone go, it wasn't good business and it would look suspect if he let someone go because of another woman- he would look afraid and that was unacceptable.

He knew where she was, and knew that she was vulnerable she would be easy to dispose of but while he could explain the loss of one attorney, he couldn't explain the loss of two especially since they were friends. Over half of his staff was human and most of them knew Justine and often sought her help in preparing their briefs. They were also aware of the friendship and would question of one stayed and one was gone just as they would question it if both women were suddenly gone. There was nothing that he could do now but wait for an opportunity to kill her. She was a newborn and even awake she wouldn't be able to do much. He simply had to bide his time.

********

Pam sat huddled on the corner of Malcolm's massive bed thankful that he let her keep her clothes on and that he hadn't touched her again. She was surprised when he made no moves to restrain her in any way; instead he left her on the bed and went into the bathroom. She waited until she heard the shower running before slipping off of the bed and heading toward the door. She had no idea where she was but she had to try to get away. She looked over her shoulder and heard the shower still running; she could hear Malcolm singing one of the Italian arias in a rich baritone.

She touched the doorknob and jumped when it turned in her hand and opened.

"Did you need something?" a man who was obviously a vampire asked.

"N....No thanks." Pam said as she backed up toward the bed.

He nodded at her and closed the door. She went back to the bed and sat in the same corner where Malcolm left her. She felt tears fall as she sent out a message that she had no way of knowing if it would make it to its recipient.

"Justine help me!"

Run-on sentences galore

Please take a grammar course or get an editor. All of the randomly placed commas and never-ending sentences are really irritating me because they are detracting from an otherwise excellent story.

Funny

It cracks me up that I'm not the only one who doesn't like Pam. Weird. Still curious to see where this story goes and if Quinn will have a more important role. Or perhaps we got his backstory, which was really sad, for no reason. Hmmm.

Great!!!

I love your Vampire stories. I hope that Justine will get the help she needs. For some reason, I don't like Pam, so I'm not that concerned about her. It will be interesting to see how this story develops. Another job well-done!!!
