Nice story

I would like to see a sequel where you have Sgt. Evans meet a woman that treats him, like he wants.

Very well done.

I WAS starting to feel sorry for misty up untill the husbands friends pointed out that the wife was seen dancing and going home with the ex high school friend. After that it was just a matter of time. Well written story.

wow... exceptionally strong man

That was just fabulous. The husband built his case slowly and steadily. First it was the wife's inability to keep a promise made that morning in one of those Marriage moments.

Her rejection of him touching her as a nornal husband wife does in public. But she could touch him or grab onto his arm.

and finally the cheating. The way the husband set this she could says ..."I was just lonely"... (and did in fact say that) but by this point in the story her cheating was a manifestation of a dead marriage.

From the fifties when I was at basic, dear john

letters could destroy a man and it did several. This woman is basically a total slut. She should not have married. He is lucky he has friends that kept track of her and very lucky he could walk away from a slut with so little feeling or emotion. A shame Mike was able to walk but eventually I will assume some unknown frieds will damage his ability to motivate. The slut wife needed to have more than an arrest for being caught with the wrong man, she needed some physical damage also, but some men are above that. He was a sgt a few of his men that respected him would have done that without him even knowing. There are really two types of women out there. Those that are wives and meant to be wives, and those that are sluts and never meant to marry. Only a mature man can tell the difference.

ok

can't blame him as she cheated before he came back. on the other hand war for sure changes everybody. and this black and white judgement system does not work out in live. if you believe that you will be alone the rest of your life. his game was mean as far as he never gave her a chance at all. If he would have been honest he would have served her the divorcepapers the first day he came back. without playing a mean game she already has lost. this story has a stale aftertaste of a man who is reduced to himself. nobody will be able to do ok by his side.

Part of the learning process for males . . .

is finding out what lil gurls are made of in reality. This guys wifey showed what ALL fems are made of and yeah, he made a mistake marrying at all, not just her. If he's smart he'll never legally marry another for they're all alike when it comes to cheating, either intellectually, emotionally and/or physically. I've come to believe the 3 stages all fems go through as defined by newer fem shrinks, 1. sex - 2. 'in love' and 3. 'attachment'. 3 has the meaning of him providing her with safety, security and stability for her personally. She can be attached to one man whilst simultaneously having sex with another and actually 'in love' with another. THAT is what lil gurls are made of.

Enjoyed It

Do believe the boyfriend would have paid a much bigger price for being involved in my marriage but thats just me. It's never happened so I really don't know how I would handle it. Thanks for the story.

Risq_001Risq_001about 15 years ago
I liked it and disagree with Anon's comments =)

Anon said that he was mean because he didn't just walk right then and there instead of making her go through this mean pretense. But I disagree. He gave her a chance. When she first said marrying him was a mistake, he could have done it then, but he asked her, trying to make her see, she was living for herself, while expecting him to make her happy, and not living to make him happy if she wanted him to make her happy

The basic thing I got was that she didn't see the forest for the trees, she was cheating on him while he was away. She wanted a deal where only he changed and she didn't have to give up anything. They made a deal, where he was going to try to meet her halfway, and she never even tried to meet him there. And he realized she wasn't going to try when she started lying and refused to come clean no matter what. And he finally realized that she wasn't going to change. So he walked. And it makes more sense when the next night she's out with her new guy she was cheating on him with.

What she did was far more mean and cruel then he did trying to give her a chance to prove she wanted to stay married to him. If you can't see that I wonder about your standards. She (or any person) can screw someone over, but by god he's better take the high road, no matter what she does? How does that comment differ from what the wife was doing to the husband in the story? (^_^)

You're better off w/o her believe me. I know the botch I was with cheated while i was gone 8 months and when I got home she wasn't there. She came running up the drive way and I said fuck it. Good Story

His lack of emotion must have bothered many of us, but after going through combat situations he has learned to keep his cool so he can have a future. Her going out with Mike the following night proves that her first statement was completely correct!

The other aspect that is interesting is that the situation they found themselves disconnects people. He really could not allow himself to be distracted when he was out there. And living alone has away of causing people to only pay attention to their wants and dislikes.

Excellent work!

Most of your stories...

are good, all things considered. This one was pathetic. She should have kneed him in the balls at dinner for the way he dealt with their relationship.(It's irrelevant that her particular "infraction" was adultery-they had a marriage, not an operation command)-Plus the author adds that in after the fact to make his actions seem justified,to say "I told you so" to readers -for whatever reason, pityful ploy.Pistolpackinpete

I'm surprised by the comments here..

you certainly made the guy come across like an immature asshole. he plays this entire game about showing his wife she promised to change.. but didn't... problem is you completely skipped over the fact that he also lied, and didn't change. he promised to me more caring more loving, instead he walks out and leaves her alone all day. hypocrite. that said, the underlining story of her cheating on him just makes the entire game silly. nothing fit together at all... it almost comes across like you developed your story on the fly.

why didn't the buds keep Misty in there lives?

Hey Hero! Not much in the way of erotica. But it does have the feel of gangbang of 7 on 1 unwilling individual. I guess that is the erotica.

Now before you tell me to F off let me add my 2 cents Mr. Representitive of America's finest.

You go off to war and have your troop to think of, to take care of and in return they to take care of you. Yet at home long forgetten your wife whom you promised to Love and Protect has no one to be apart of her life or take care of her while your gone.

Why didn't Jose, Miguel and Tony and their wifes make Misty apart of their lives and she apart of their lives. Not as it turned out they looked at Misty from afar and took notes. Why didn't they nudge Misty to remember they are apart of her life and has such her indescretion is not acceptable before it happened.

It seems screwy that before you left to go off and play army you didn't make arrangements for you and Misty to be apart of the lives of Jose, Miguel and Tony and their wifes. And they to be apart of both your's and Misty's life.

Or You're the Hero and heros don't think that way. I guess just because you are apart of the big 6 and your wife is not - that is ok. Come on! You feel stress - She feels the stress with you half way around the world. You have your troop to lean on and your wife? With the stress's of your being gone and her being alone with no help near by - Dude You Set Her Up To Fail. Cheer our Glorious Hero!

To all the haters

To all the haters I for one think that he is dead on with this story. Being a veteran myself and coming back from a six month deployment to find out that " I don't love you anymore." Scorpio never said that the man didn't leave numbers or names or points of contact for support and help and as with most military people they have pre-deployment briefs for the families and offer support and people to call and such. So for all you bashers out there get a clue and a life he may or may not have set her up but he did set himself up to cover his ass so he didn't get the short end of the stick from when his "poor ganged up on wife would have left him out to dry and not given two shits less about how he felt or what he went through. Scorpio keep up the good work no matter what the haters say.

There was a time

when no divorce could be granted while the husband was deployed, I know it can't stop a cheater from cheating but that way they can't legally take every thing & run while the victim can't defend themselves.

auhunter04auhunter04about 13 years ago
there is a difference

cheating or not..a promise is a promise.

The first one you make is to your spouse th love honor and cherish

when you have kids

EVERY promise made to them must be kept,,they remember and it shapes thier lives..so do the promises unkept..know it did mine..My trust factor is to say the very least..reinforced by two ex-wives..

You can get away with not doing a good job on the first part, But you must do a perfect job on the second. Explaining why you cannot do something with a small kid does not count. All they know is the promise was broken, now they understand something like a broken leg, Mama in the hospital, but they remember the promise.

So should we all

Wow!

It sounds like a different bunch of trolls came out on this one. Most of the commenters hated the faithful protaganist than the cheating, lying, slut wife! Just because he was miltary and had ethics that his wife didn't? I am so unused to commenters taking up for a lazy, unfaithful, self-centered wife that wanted nothing to do with his friends. She was lonely but wanted her own set of friends...those willing to cuckold her husband while he was gone. Wow! He is a cruel bastard isn't he?

Dwornocker, you better find a gun

Since you have no use for a military (or police) that protects your ass from enemies foreign and domestic I guess you better learn how to do it all by yourself. What history has taught us time and time again is that those that won't defend themselves are sooner or later taken over by others. You better do a good job of teaching yourself or you will be either dead or someone else's bitch.

It is the soldier

I liked the straight forward and honest plot. It's a refreshing break from some of the other stuff.

I understand the mentality of the protagonist. Coming home after deployment, especially from a war zone, can be difficult to adjust to. It can take weeks, or months, or even longer. For those having to rotate back to the shit after only a few weeks of down time, it's not a good idea to change too much. As my active duty friends say, "Gotta stay hard-core and frosty".

As for promises, as someone pointed out, the biggest promise was to love and cherish above all others. If a person breaks one promise, what's to keep them from breaking other promises? In the military, if you can't trust the guys to do their part --to keep their promises, then you're going to end up one dead mo-fo.

As for Dwornock...Here is something we should all keep in mind.

It Is The Soldier

It is the Soldier, not the minister

Who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the Soldier, not the reporter

Who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the Soldier, not the poet

Who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer

Who has given us freedom to protest.

It is the Soldier, not the lawyer

Who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the Soldier, not the politician

Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,

Who serves beneath the flag,

And whose coffin is draped by the flag,

Who allows the protester to burn the flag.

~Charles Michael Province, U.S. Army

To every brother soldier, marine, sailor, pilot, and even the coast guard, and to all those who have served, you have my undying thanks.

He promised to change

but is that only on the condition that she change? If so, then divorce is the best option for both of them. Afterall, he never promised what he would change and while he humiliated and demeaned her in front of his friends, he showed that he didn't love her either. Plus his broken vows of :Love, honor and respect....none of which were in evidence by his actions.

AS a soldier, he broke his promises but his wife is the guilty one? whatever.

He comes home -

She slaps him in the face with the mistake comment and somehow he becomes the monster here?????

He took what she said - irrespective of what he did or did not know then, and once he had information he developed a plan. Executed the plan and made it clear he was not going to be the victim. More information and the plan evolved into an exit strategy.

She executed a plan while he was away and then lied and schemed to get more - she lost - di she cheat while he was away almost certainly - maybe not but she did betray him and his trust when he came home - she did plan to humiliate him by rebuilding him to suit her needs and ignore his life and its needs.

The ending was the perfect one - she did go right out and act single and got burned some more - she earned it.

It Is a Solider is right on - always has been.

I know that this story was supposed to make the wife be the bad guy, but this dude turned out to be the real ass. He "pretended" to want to fix his marriage, but instead he turned everything around to embarrass and belittle her. After reading this story I felt she was right in her description of him. People who really want to work on their marriage try to do things to try to correct the wrong that is done. All he did was look for ways to call her out for being a horrible wife.

Excellent story; expertly presented and well written.

The story is a no brainier. A lazy skank who thinks the world revolves around her and everyone else especially her husband are things at her beck and call was mind bending. How can anyone rationally sympathize with Misty?? Apparently some comments really did. Well it takes all kinds to make up a world, that's part of the reason we need a good military. Misty was certainly entitled to her feelings and to be who she was. Scorpio44a captured the essence of a very immature self centered low life skank in his description detail of Misty as one of the principle characters of this story. This story was frothed with emotion and Sgt Evans displayed his leadership ability and maturity in his handling of Misty. Thank You for your effort!

Military Marriage

Marriage under the best circumstances if tough. With one or both spouses being in the military or some other employment that forces long periods apart, a marriage is extremely difficult to maintain. I am not defending cheaters, I am only drawing attention to the circumstances and the expectations. It is a long shot that there will not be cheating in a long term military marriage.

krosis666krosis666over 9 years ago
She was right

She was not one of his soldiers, to be belittled and bullied.

It's no wonder she cheated, when she was treated like a servant, not a wife. He leaves her alone for months at a time, with no friends of her own, (Who says she MUST like HIS friends?)and he is a different man whenever he returns. And then he issues orders instead of treating her like a normal person, (a trait shared by most military personnel in civilian life). What exactly did he expect of her? Yes, she broke her vows, but he broke his first, by putting the military before his marriage, by not taking care of his wife. Yes, she was a selfish bitch, and should have left him before seeing someone else, but then, if he had wanted a faithful wife, he should have been home! From what I read here, this was the first time she cheated, but it was far from the first time her husband left her alone for long periods of time. I'm not condoning her action, (Hell will freeze over before I EVER condone cheating), and he was perfectly justified and right to divorce her, but I'm saying that she was right when she told him he needs to change into a better husband, or he will never have a lasting relationship.

I hate cheaters in every way, shape and form, but some guys bring it on themselves in the way they view and treat their wives, as this guy did.

krosis666krosis666over 9 years ago
Also, @ Phil2213

When you said 'I guess it takes all kinds to make up the world, thats part of the reason we need a good military', what exactly did that mean? That differing opinions should be crushed, and snuffed out? That any difference should be stopped using force? That there should be only ONE kind of people? That any dissenting voice must be forcibly silenced?

A little more clarity in that statement might help, because as it sits, it doesn't make you sound very nice, and clearly that wasn't your intention. I seriously doubt that you meant it to sound as it does.

This guy was a grade A douche bag

Sadly, I know men like him. So caught up in their own sense of greatness that they fail to see outside world. He had a wife that was actually willing to talk to him about what she wanted in a marriage. But because he is so full of his own shit, he doesn't understand. He has this "I'm always right, so the only explanation is that you are wrong" attitude. What does he do? Go on the attack, crush her, compare her to another woman, and then get surprised that he is cheated on. He could have saved his marriage if he wanted to. Truth be told, he didn't really want to be married anyway. He just wanted someone to come home to. If he does get married again, it won't last unless she is so submissive that she becomes an uncaring robot.

In most cheating stories you feel bad for the cheated on spouse because you sympathize with them as the victim. In this case, she was the victim.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 9 years ago

So, using your logic he's supposed to clean the house, cook the food (cause she won't) and tolerate her cheating? Wow! That sounds like a marriage made in hell.

@krosis666 & javmor79 So the ends justify the means?

The guy is a total jerk and undeserving of wife and home. She would be better off without him but does that justify the cheating? Wouldn't it have been better to end the marriage and then fool around? Did he owe her the home base from which to cheat? A sad story indeed

Re Read the Story

Yes she was entitled to ask him to change. He agreed to do it. they agreed on what it meant. they agreed on the trial period. So far so good. Before he came home she cheated. There was no discussion,. No chance to make it right. She knew he was in the military and could be sent overseas - she stayed married. Once the agreement was in place she did nothing. You think that was right? She didn't even try. Dinner may have been a set up and he knew about the cheating but if she had followed thru on the agreement he might have honored it as well. She didn't so screw her!

Again Krosis666 Demonstrates His Lack of Intelligence

krosis666, your comments demonstrate that you don't understand what you are reading. He was a Sargent so he had been well indoctrinated in military mindset when she met him and married him. When she married him, she knew that he would be deployed at some point in the future. He reponds to ever situation with this mindset. He had explained to her about becoming friends with his military buddies who did not deploy to help her while he was away. She ignored his advice. She had an affair and when he comes back she says that he didn't look after her! Now do you see why all your comments are idiotic!

No one would want to be married to him. He maneuvers her into acting badly, sets her up to fail with his friends and then embarrasses her in front of them. What a prick. Badly conceived and horribly ended.

First it's clear she didn't just start cheating on him and her treatment of him is evident that she thinks little of him and is a party girl at heart. She didn't cook once to show him her appreciation of his safe return. She ignored his friends who where going to include her in their lives while he was deployed. I think his treatment of her was at the least tolerable of a slut who disrespected him during his entire tour of duty. Service members have it hard enough to face the terrors of daily hostility without finding out their spouse is at home playing with someone else.

That bulletin board message made no sense, why would he subject a fellow serviceman to a cheating ex?

Though there was no indication what bulletin board it was, just a really weird last paragraph. A pretty terrible end note.

Oh No

Once again a member of the US military is portrayed as a complete asshole. It's a marriage not the relationship between a grunt and her superior!

More Anon BS

Really, he’s an asshole for calling her out on her lies? She painted a picture where only he changed, without accepting her own changes. He didn’t railroad her into anything, just held her to her word. She was a liar and a cheat. The end. Good story.

The problem with military men

Is that they expect everyone to act and to react like the men under their command. They think everyone should live by the same structures and rules they adhere to. They simply are incapable of comprehending that not everyone needs to live their lives with someone else telling them what to do in every second of their life. The concept of making it up as you go along is entirely alien to them. Every moment must be planned out ahead of time. Spontaneity is a four letter word for them.

As to this story, the wife was self centered and never grew up. She was also a cheating bitch. The husband was too ridgid. He didn't want a wife as an equal, he wanted another subordinate. All the time he spent berating her for not keeping the promise to clean the house, he didn't realize that he too failed to keep any of his promises to change. In the few hours that she didn't clean or cook, what did he do to be more romantic as promised.

In the long term, the wife might grow up, and find someone she can learn to be a good wife to, as an equal.

The husband on the other hand, will probably find it hard to hold onto a woman for too long, unless he finds one that is submissive and has low self esteem.

English trying to write American

The characters talked like they English despite trying to be American and it throws off the story. I would recommend either writing it focused on English soldiers or have an American proof read it for you to get their unique colloquialisms down.

Has a point. Some military men seem to forget their wives and children are not in the service. He also didn't keep his promises. Not all women are demonstrative in public either especially in front of strangers.

However this is a good story. It's more about her change of heart and lack of character than any thing else.

The problem with military spouses is they think they are entitled to cheat and disrespect their spouses .

It's a cliche for a reason .

0 stars - you have no military experience, because in real life we do not talk or act like that. If you intend to write more stories with a military topic please do a lot more research or don't bother at all.

Happy not to be married to either of the two central characters. She's a slut and he's a jerk. Bless both of their soon to be single hearts. They need all the help they can get.

Interesting story with little or no emotion. He already knew she was a slut so he turned off the emotions with her. She meant nothing to him anymore. Perfect detachment

It was a mistake for them to marry each other. He needs a dog and a housekeeper.
