I don't know if you intend to do anything further with these characters, but it's an interesting situation and I personally think it's worth developing.

The thing I love about your writing is that you manage to evoke 'real' characters without a lot of back-story or setup.

But damn... after reading this, I'll never look at my girlfriend's girlfriends in the same was!

I love the setup, which is definitely something that could happen. Alcohol can make people do crazy things; so can working double shifts. Mix into that ambivalence and anger, and anything is possible. Obviously these two are soulmates. Awesome.
