Click hereShe stood up and brushed back her damp hair. As she did, she wrapped a bit of her long auburn locks around her fingers. It had lost some of its luster, but it was still golden brown, a little darker from being wet. She looked at it and said, "this salt water has ruined my styling." Then she walked to the rail and climbed over. She grabbed the rail with both hands and leaned outward with only her toes on the deck. As she let go, she said, "This isn't over, Michael."
She dropped into the water with a perfect backward dive. As she disappeared below the surface, I looked toward the dock where I could see Orian had been watching. He wore a big grin, and he was shaking his head with mirth. I could only shake my own head. This was just so Leslie. It was why I had run. I didn't fear my law firm or the authorities, but Leslie was a kind of natural force. And yes, I was sure that she would be back.
Does anyone else get sick of these men who run away like ten-year-old children in a snit? Any humanoid with a Y-chromosome would've at least left a cryptic note. No, these writers think that running away mysteriously is somehow punishment. This writer and the rest of LW's "Royalty" write the same weak-kneed male characters. Then, the other extreme is the BTB idiots, whose stuff often contains the same running-away man-children, except they cry, get drunk, puke, and feel sorry for themselves, after which they call in their experts and do violence. The good thing is RG can write well. The bad thing is that RG can write well. Good writing with weak characters is disturbing.
