I can not believe how well constructed and organized this story is. The characters have developed so many facets that they have become real. For an 18 year old male, Steven has more maturity, honesty, loyality and intregity than most people twice his age. Based on the other female characters, I understand why Kitten is behind the learning curve. With the absence of her mother, she had no one to train her in the use of her ability. She has already outgrown her old family and will only survive/succeed with her new family. Shelia has finallly found the possibility to regain control of her life. Lathleen, unfortunately, has turned into her mother.
