You know, that was simply, complexly beautiful. A few errors here and there, formatting issues - so what? They did little to hamper this lovely piece of writing. Having read roughly half the entries for the contest this year, This is by far the best of them for the genre and the contest. The story stands close to novella length, and fleshed out a bit more would make great addition to more than a few book shelves.

Honestly, though this is an erotic story site, and obviously must have such elements included, it almost seemed out of place within the story. Or perhaps not out of place, but in the wrong place. Much later in the time line is where it feels (imo) to belong. I do understand the constraints here, so even that perception is outweighted when taking all things involving the site, the contest, and the length of this story, under consideration.

This story deserves its first place standing. Very well done. Bravo.

I read this last week but didn't have a oomputer to leave a comment. Some of the comments left were weird, but the story wasn't. It was very good, especially the dialogue. The narative held my interest, too, but I love dialogue. As far as the sex, I prefer erotic stories to stories with too much graphic sex. This had a good balance. Nicely done.

Until recently, I never understood the pain of loving someone from another culture. Not just a different country but one whose family and culture has different expectations, different beliefs. This was a truly beautiful story. They followed their hearts.

...about this story. You set up a dramatic conflict, ie Jaelle's sexuality against the traditional expectations of her ethnic community, but you didn't resolve it. For me, this left the tale feeling incomplete and the ending a little abrupt. That apart, I thought it a lovely tale with very believable characters. Everything about it rang true, from the ambience to the characters' feelings and reactions. Ignore the eejit who thought your story a load of shit---he obviously can't tell shit from sugar.

I have worked with the Roma in the UK for a number of years, they would never drink out of a chipped cup as it is a major insult. Great story though.

With better formatting, mind you... but the quality of the writing makes even poor formatting acceptable.
