A good story that really puts what's important into perspective. Damn good read.
But quite lovely. I suppose when one hits on one of those great verities of life, that helps too!

Thoughtful, a pleasure to read, and a rewarding plot.
Sometimes it takes something like this to show us what really matters, thanks for the story.
I really liked this story. Great story line. MORE!!! MORE!!!
A Beautiful turn about on a failed relation. Interestingly enough they did not get divorced because they did not have the money for it, but when something more important came up, they found resources...
You've got the right touch in your stories. I keep watching for more.
is absolutely false.
This story resonates with me because my ex desired all the trappings of the wealthy even though they were often beyond our means. Fortunately my fear of being entrapped by material wealth was greater than any feelings I had towards her, so I bailed before I became a character in this story. I always tend to err on the side of austerity. It was fulfilling to watch the characters break their relationship down to first principles and truely find their value to each other.
I've always enjoyed Slirpuff's stories in spite of the frequent grammar and spelling faults. It is good to see the contributions of an editor. A great improvement but there's a little way more to go.
Two fives in one day. I do not think I have done that before. Bravo.
The traffic accident twist in the plot surprised me. I thought this story was going to go along the lines that the wife was actually fucking someone else... and was sending pictures to his cell phone or PC... then try to say that she was just sending fake pictures to teach the husband a lesson.

And the intentional downscaling of the lifestyles was also a very nice touch. Their son Andy... he really didn't care that much about the hoity-toity great school ... like most kids he just wanted to have his mom and dad.

Tammy's view that Roger intentionally wasted heir investment without any actual supporting evidence was a serious turning point in the marriage. Once a spouse starts thinking that the other spouse is out to INTENTIONALLY hurt you ...or the marriage and/ or the family... without ANY evidence to believe that... there is nothing the other spouse can really do. .

The phone call interrupting the Sex was also important because they were not really connecting and they had a chance to. The wife choice of the phone call over their intimacy was significant. Roger was not very coherent and making his argument about why it was so important to him... most men are not... but his point however was valid.

Lastly if it wasn't for the traffic accident ...given how drunk Ann was and how angry she was it's very possible that she could have cheated on Roger. That is assuming of course that she had not already done so when the traffic accident had occurred.
Very interesting story and proves the old adage that you don't know what you have until it's gone. Or almost gone in this instance. The story line and characters were realistic which makes for a much better read. Even though there was a hint at a possible cheating wife, this story is closer to the genre of "Loving Wives" than most of those posted. Thanks good work and give us more.

You know when you had him ask the girl out for Lunch I swear I could hear the Looney Tunes theme song playing in the background. But you pulled it off.

It was a shame it took a near death experience between them, but the way you designed them both they were both childish, but they got over it so that it made a better story

Thanks for a good read today (^_^)

Money is probably even more an issue in relationships than sex. Obviously, this is a sex site, so we can't have a ton of these, but I loved it for a change. Of course, I always love it when the woman is soley to blame, but then that's not reality very often, is it?
Once again, very good story. I am glad it ended happily.
your stories are getting a lot better...this and another cpl within the past few days have been your best ever...hope you continue to write the kind of belieable stories these have been....and yes dont we all get to caught up in stuff
I didn't feel sorry for them having to give up all the STUFF. Matter of fact I;d like to see all the people in the world living like I have most of my life. I don't cater to those wortlesss purveyors of Stuff. I think they should all be farmers...after all people do have to eat.
The ones who get it will praise you those who don't will berate you. Thank you for saying what we should all know.
Again Thanks for the entertainment, great story.Mike from Texas
I think this one is even better than the "forgiveness" story. A reconciliation story that Harry and Risq both like? Wow! Well done SP.
Best character development of your stories. Great work. Thanks for the story!
Too often the "things" do get in the way of love. It is good to see that sentiment acknowledged.
I have nothing to add since this story is truly a loving wife/husband story. Thanks!
Since it was well written I went with 75 over 50 even though as a story it was pretty average.
Keep up the good nick and don't loose your grip, you are going great guns now. WOW!!! 2 back-to-back outstanding stories
Up till now i have hated all your stories. I expected to hate this one and imagine my surprise and the quality, consistency and reality of your most exceptional story. Even the ending was believable and romantic...I wanted to see them reconcile. So for the first time, congratulations on a remarkable story.
Very few errors and a nice, wonderful story. Believable. Could also have been in the "Romance" category. As someone else said, Tammy is now a loving wife and Roger a loving husband. Thanks for writing.
Just because the cunt CLAIMS she "didn't do anything" doesn't mean she didn't do anything. I mean what else is she gonna say? She was a fucking CUNT before the wreck and now she's a UGLY fucking cunt. She deserved to die.
they got it right .Who cares about the jones's have what you can afford and be happy.and for mr big guy GROW UP.
The marriage was terminal and its revived when she is in an accident with another man that loses his life? Nary a word from her or active conversation of the root causes ? Help her and then the conscious is assuaged and he can move on. Thescar can be a reminder of consequences.
Let husband find MORE than what he had.
She was in the accident whilst on her way out and look what happened. Be civil and assist but why go further when ending. Difference between walking away and a measured distance. An end, with civility. To stay for what reason?
wow...
I think that she cheated though. She got a free pass and all it cost was her lover's life.
I hate cheating slut, as like other readers of this site.
But I can't argue that, I love this great finishing.
Sometimes we do not see what we have, but tried to catch what we haven't and left all the good things behind.
In our life, accidents or horror come when chances to get back happy life went to zerro.
Love this story.
The both did wrong making the other one think they were cheating. So I thinking maybe because they went so far Tim ends up dead. They have bills up the ass to make her some what back to normal. If they could have talked, maybe they would still have more than the cabin and Tim would be alive. (TALK)
Their Problem was never that they had too much stuff, but that they had too few brain cells. It starts with gambling away money that was already spoken for, then trying to hurt each other by playing the cheating card (how fuckin stupid is that?), buying a fucking corvette, boat etc. but not paying the health insurance ? Sorry but I dont believe you that they both had such good jobs, they are far to stupid to be anything more than blue collar.
Read some of the other comments. Some people are so stupid. This was a wonderful story. Of course a five, but I wished it had been several pages longer.
A great tale about life and its ups and downs. It proves that it doesn't matter what's on the outside its what's inside that counts. I guess you have to lose it all to get it back. Stuff doesn't matter. Love does.
very good story altho sadly, the life story of way too many people these days.
Yes, too many people these days lead shallow lives and measure their success by the stuff that they own. Marriages like this one usually end in divorce. Good story, keep writing.
Been there seen it done it! Hey we all want stuff and we take risks to get them. I enjoyed this story and it had a happy ending. In real life it's a toss up. People rarely have the luck to realize the error of their ways before it's too late. This story was well written and thought provoking. The characters seemed real but not totally explained on both spouses. Thanks for an excellent read.
A good lesson in what matters in life. When you face St Peter at the Pearlie Gates, the entry pass is not measured by worldly wealth, but by the relationships and love you build. Thanks Slirpuff. Dan
A street corner Messiah in New York once grabbed my sleeve and asked me what I
could tell St Peter to suggest that he should let me into heaven. I thought for a moment and told him that I was raising three children. He had no response to my statement!
I'm looking for romantic marriage story then it's the right choice that I read. Thanks to Slirpuff for sharing this valuable story. Well, it's a true story, glad to know this. I bet Roger and Tammy are wise people now, better than at the their past. My salute for Roger who can keep and save his marriage for not falling apart from Tammy. He's a good man indeed. His intention and effort are excellent. Tammy should be grateful to God that He sends a good man for living and sharing with. What a wonderful husband!
Regards from this Indonesian reader :)
The fact she was out trying to fuck around is really glossed over. He played his own games.
Now...their entire net worth is in the toilet because she was angry and wanted to fuck around. She needs to own that. Two paragraphs does not cover 'the elephant in the room'.
It is that emotional drama which should have been the lynchpin of this story, either by showing her incredible guilt at what her actions have wrought on her family, or to highlight the HUGE flaws and rifts in their marriage.
Instead, we get a Fire Sale and a allegory. A good allegory, but that's it.
This story is the pair of Murphy621's Auto Accident. The different is the wife wanted a affair here and the accident happened before it and at Murphy621 's story the accident was after the cheating. What a different!
Although fictionalized, it's a prime example why Obamacare is a step in the right direction. Being ill is punishment enough and should not lead to destitution. Alas, in too many cases being ill means also a financial penalty. Many European countries and Canada have a much better healthcare system than the US. In American you can get the best healthcare if you’ve got money, without it tough luck. In countries like Belgium or Canada, one gets the best healthcare ones needs and it’s affordable care.
Try France, The country can't really afford it, but it is incredible. Need a brain scan? How about thursday? Busy are you. Will friday afternoon be suitable? It's unbelievably good, but by God do we pay for it.
There is the actual health care and there is the system of paying for it and many people confuse the two when talking about health care.
What good is a 100% paid for health care system if you can't get in to a doctor until after you are dead ?
What good are the best doctors and facilities in the world if you can't afford to use them ?
I don't have so much of a problem with ANSWERING the phone, it COULD have been something important.
But talking for 45 minutes???
Well done Steve, this 1 really was enjoyable. OK, they were both a bit childish with their tantrums at each other but after the accident Roger realised that he needed to make the effort to save their marriage. He made the hard decisions, got rid of the toys, cleared most of the debt, forgave his wife & as a family they moved on. Works for me. 4 ****
Her right side was damaged because she was busy sucking his dick. You inferred, but failed to mention.
but it didn't bother me much. What did bother me was the asswipe anon who had to politicize his comment with Obamacare. Most people read fiction for entertainment and to get away from dumb ass people like you, anon. So, if you have a comment on the story and you spew stupid shit, that's one thing. But to try and push your dumb assed agenda on here is another. If you really have something to say about the writing, the plot, the dialogue have at it. But posting here because you are lonely in your mom's basement and your blowup doll has put you on the cut off and stopped talking to you is another.
Pitiful.
I liked it . The story gave us something other than the same old, soame old. I really liked that it went inside peoples heads and hearts.
And how much stuff do we REALLY need?
Once in a while an older submission pops up as a Similar Story that is a great read, this is one.
perspective!
George Carlin said, "My stuff, your shit. Kinda miss that guy. Good writing and reading. Glad they found their way finally. Cheers!
This was a terrific story. This Slirpuff guy can spin a yarn.
It's a story about real people with real problems. After all was said and done they found a happy ending with each other. For you to have such a harsh comment your life must really suck.
BDEarth
It may be she would have cheated, but it did not happen. They debated bitter. The story is an interesting reconciliation story to show to themselves what is the most important. He was not wimp to help his wife with the stuff. However if she had cheated before the accident my opinion would have other. In that case he had treated her only for sake of his son and more stuff remained of them....................
This is a FICTIONAL story, about non-existent people on a porn site, on the world wide web. So none of these people are actually alive, doing any of these things. Jesus people, get a clue. Now if you want to talk about whether or not you liked the story, or the characters or their actions - fine. But the rest of your bullshit comments make for better reading than some of these stories. You people are hilarious! What a pack of idiots! STILL LAUGHING!
But not anymore, great story and in my humble opinion totally possible.
Yes, it's fictional!
But, as I've said before, GOOD writers create characters and situations that we believe in and care about.
The day we stop reacting to the stories is the day they should stop writing them!
same old Slirpuff's idiot assholes characters. in every story. over and over...
She cheated on him with Tim. He should have divorced the bitch while she was still in the hospital. No one would have blamed him for doing that since they were both in Tim's car when it happened. She was probably giving Tim a blowjob when he had the accident.
All those things she told him about Tim and the crash? Yeah, I guess you could call it "stuff." Me, I'm an old farm boy. Horse sh*t is still horse sh*t.
Take the Anons with a pint of water and a pound of salt, and what they vent about won't bother you so much. Keep writing...and posting. Thanks.
Now I know why they call you ‘SLIRPuff’. You spelled ‘slurp’ and ‘up’ wrong, though, and missed out ‘creampie’ at the end. 1*
He "cheated" with Sue just as much as she "cheated" with Tim. What the whole situation boils down to was a big case of selfishness on the part of both of them. I see it every day in the news. The whole "I'm gonna get mine before someone else gets it" mindset drives people. The end result is we end up with a bunch of stuff that we don't really need and won't make us any happier.
All you have to do is listen to all the Anony's and instead of having people getting married and trying to live a happy life, she can just fuck every guy she comes across and he can have all the guys beaten and nutered and then ship her off to a whore house in some third world country where she services 50 faceless sweaty guys everyday until she dies of every venereal disease known and her skeletal body is thrown into a local ditch. He then fucks every 21 year old coed in town because they are all attracted to his middle aged body and they want him badly. Threesome, orgies, twenty women at a time, their only desire is to please him. His boss promotes him to vice president and then retires leaving him in charge of a billion dollar company with a private jet and a villa in Spain at his disposal.
Voila, self writing stories. BTW, 5 stars for them finally seeing what they lost and having the balls to work to get it back.
What a crock of BS. He should of divorced her as-soon-as possible. Once a cheater, always a cheater and she sure did. Got caught too. The accident proved it. He choose to ignore it, fool that he is.
Sure he did everything for her but she gets hurt while out at night, half drunk, with some asshole. If they hadn't gotten into the accident she'd be on her back in the guys bed getting fucked. She had already cheated on him in her mind. He may have waited until she was better but should have dumped her right after.
I suppose many will hate this story but it's a lot more real life than all the BTB stories here. Many people screw their lives up and some decide that they want what they had back or even more true, want the better version of what they had. This is a story bout that. Maybe not everyone's taste but a nicely done loving wife story. Thank you.
I thought the story would get darker, a true BTB, as she was willing to cheat on Roger.
Her right side got so dinged up due to her leaning over at the time of the accident giving Tim a BJ. He was so excited he crossed the line and paid for it. I was expecting a cop to take her statement, with Roger present, telling them that Tim's dick appeared to be bitten off being found laying on the drivers floor board.
Roger took her to her new cabin home dropping her off as he went to his apartment. Where Sue was waiting for him.
@anon 1/4/18
"He 'cheated' with Sue just as much as she 'cheated' with Tim."
Not exactly. He had lunches with Sue. He didn't go on a dinner date with her, text his wife about how he was going to fuck Sue, and then stay out all night drinking with her until the car accident that as described at least hints at a blow job taking place, and then the first time he regained consciousness, tearfully inquire about Sue.
The wife was behaving like a complete cunt, then went out to cheat on him. The only reason she didn't was because of the accident.
He should have had her served when she was in hospital and moved on.
So many commenters with their formula on cheating wives. I guess they love reading these stories so they can hold their undersized penises and rag on the woman and hope for major BTB.
It's Slurpoff's story and it's obvious his story was about two people that along the way lost their connection and kept on egging each other on which kept on driving a bigger and bigger wedge between them. Yeah, from his perspective she was being a bitch, but there were plenty examples given where he was being a jerk as well and raising the bar. They both working their asses off to acquire more STUFF and not focusing on one another. Although the one expense that to me was justified was the kid's private school. The point is this story wasn't about cheating, but two people losing what was important and after a tragedy finding their way back to one another.
And for those that say she cheated or was going to cheat I'll bring up a story that was in the news today from Florida. Some Uber driver was cut off by a dude thinking his gf was in the car and he forced the Uber driver to stop (this was all videotaped from the Uber driver's car). This happened at night and the other driver walked up to the Uber driver aggressivley (who apparently was in training to be a cop) shouting that he had a gun, while holding his cell phone (again, this happened at night on a dark rural road). The Uber driver, who had a permit for a gun, shot and killed the other driver. The Sheriff, speaking at the press conference, said it was justifiable self-defense (stand your ground). He said don't threaten someone you have a gun and going to shoot them at night carrying a cell phone that they mistake for a gun. So if you try to make it look like you're cheating on your spouse, like he did in this story, don't be suprised if she cheats or thinks about cheating. And if she does, don't blame her. Btw, that doesn't mean that I think in this story there is a solid reason to think she was giving him a bj or even going to cheat. But if she did, she was totally justified. If my gf or wife tried to make it look like she was screwing another guy to get me jealous, I guarantee you that weekend I'm fucking another girl, EVEN if I know that she is just doing it to make me jealous and not really fucking another dude. You play games, then be ready to face the consequences. That's the problem, this couple kept on egging each other on and reacting, without thinking two or three steps forward on what they're doing is going to take them. Unfortunately, for her she ended up paying the much higher price with what happened to her. But, again, it took a tragedy to bring them back together and realize what was important.
I've read so many stories here where childish behavior and competition to get the upper hand destroys a marriage. This was good.
Agree with Powersworder. He should have had her served in the hospital and moved on.That way he wouldn't have had to sell everything, because she wasn't worth it no matter how the story ends.
