There are still several steps for him to keep going before he fully accpets what he can, or will not do. Not sure if the story realy can jump to him using the device on others before this is resolved.

The first three chapters I really enjoyed but it seems to have hit a mid story hump. There is less of the device and no explanation as to why the effects aren't wearing off. Yes we are getting to see how all three are being corrupted but the context seems y have gone. We need to see what happens as one or both come out from the influence. Does he use the device to regain control? Does he abandon them for new prey. Is the dvice having a slower more insidious effect on his concept of right & wrong? There is plenty of scope but the story is in danger of turning into one where he simply fucks both again just because he has to which would be a shame

While the storyline is ok it is very hard to read when you can't keep the names of the individuals correct, the number of times the mother becomes the daughters name or the other way around is astonishing
