Paul's zealotry, and that of those who followed him, has much to answer for. Let's all play the ancient blame game. Men? Not their fault, they were tempted! Women? Their guiles caused the downfall of men! Banish them to the fringes and forbid them to preach! Even Merlin, whom one would expect to be wiser, is snared in that trap of centuries-old misinformation and bigotry. I can't really tell you how much I am enjoying this series, Pixie, my dear little friend. Don't let up on the good work.

Wrapped up in this suspenseful adventure; the wonderfully erotic elements so expressive of love that defines the storyline and women characters. You create an immersive experience with the rhythm of your writing added by near alliterative phrasing like “… fertile to female love.” or “… coated in her cream as she came.” to name but two examples that resonate.

Fertile to female love ... Is there any other kind?

It's only through translation into Greek, Latin and the native languages of all the converted people that the concept of "God the Father" emerged. The word for God in the ancient scriptures could as well be translated as "Great Giver of Birth" which sounds more like a Mother to me.

The three great things mentioned in one of Paul's better letters - Faith, Hope, Charity - can also be given names for girls. They would feel awkward as names for boys. Our instincts tell us that the innate quality of being is essentially female. The male is just a derivative.

Deep down in their insecurity, the patriarchs whose role models were Peter and Paul must have known about their shortcomings. They didn't know any better than to suppress the idea of true love coming from the feminine divine.

What did Peter do for Jesus besides cutting off the ear of a Roman soldier which didn't stop the arrest, and shortly thereafter denying that he had ever known Jesus? Or Paul who started out as a fanatical persecutors of early Christians? He had to literally fall off his high horse and become incapacitated before he realized the errors of his ways.

The women stood with Jesus until the bitter end while the men were hiding. The women discovered and spread the gospel of life over death first.

But the men rewrote history, and Peter and Paul became great martyrs. Which makes me wonder about the point of Christ's sacrifice. Wasn't his death supposed to be the live-saving redemption for everybody?

Perhaps that was the point exactly in the male re-interpretation of the gospel: sacrifice your life following the example of Christ and the martyrs, die in war for king and country so the powerful may continue to rule in the image of god on earth ...

It's time to change the narrative and rediscover the true gospel. Go ahead, Carwen, Stumpy, Bella, all you brave Amazon warriors, unafraid of the great dangers. Your mission will succeed when you live and not die.

And me too!!!! I think Bella spoke for all of us when she pledged herself to accompanying Carwen on her dangerous but urgent & noble mission . That scene was my favorite part of the chapter.; though Carwen's and Bella's sex scene with its lead-in was splendid as well. I also like the clever use of historical tie-ins that underpin the adventure and provide a sprawling canvas for complex personal interactions and social commentary. . There really is a lot going on in this story, but Pixiehoff is making it look effortless. I can't wait to see what happens in Alexandria. 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿

If we truly have a brightly lighted sight at life and living, so true LOVE or Faith or charity or empathy, deep emotional bindings, are connected to women .... Being over 50 years of age, the truly grounded mens filled with a giving love, i met i can count with one hand ......
