When something is broken, you can fix it or throw it away. But it will never be whole again. That's just life. No matter what happens, Franks marriage will never be the same again. It might be over or simply just changed, but the same it will not be. If he's looking and hoping for things to go back to the way they were, the poor misguided fool will have nothing but misery to look forward to. Maybe a little happiness thrown in on occasionally, but never that same unswerving certainty -which some might say would have been an illusion in the first place. Poor bastard.

but I don't really think this one added anything to it and it would have been better as a stand-alone story. Well-written as always and the emotions are painfully real, but I honestly hope you'll leave it now. Not every story has to have a neat and tidy ending with all the loose ends tied up because life simply isn't like that.

This was ok, but just barely so. The husband establishes himself as semi--dangerous, immature, lovable dolt. He gets drunk, cavorts with sluts & whores and fists out a guy for acting on a childhood crush that he sanctioned by giving hiss wife a carnal get-out-of jail-free-card. Whew!

He is faithful though his wife so there's that. Personally, I would have dumped her ass about year 3 of her frumpy , 'Poor me' act post hysterectomy.Yes. Jerry Springer shows are replete with this stuff.

Well the talented author probably definitely had much more fun writing the story then me reading it. Sometimes it just works out that way. Full disclosure: the original was great reading & if it means I have to read tripe like this in return for that. So be it.

Worse than the first one. You spent the majority of this story trying to convince everyone that Marie's cheating was okay and it deserved no repercussions. Then you finally go on and fail miserably at some revenge. If you feel the need to write a story to justify the plot of another story then you failed in the first place and, honestly, there is no fixing it. You could have started with Frank's problems in bed and maybe even given him the chance to punch Allan. You then could have shown how their love would pull them through it with talking or counseling. I suppose you could do that next time, after giving us more unnecessary background to try and prove that her cheating was inevitable and necessary. Let me tell you that is impossible. You want to take another chapter and work it out between them, fine. However, don't waste our time rationalizing her behavior because it was wrong, pure and simple.

We didn't forget that she hung on to that hall pass for a year - WHY? When she saw two women groping her husband, against his wishes, she immediately got haughty and said she was going to her room...20 minutes later she was gone and the 'Hall Pass' was on the bed.

Thirty years and she had an excuse to use her 'Hall Pass' and she used an excuse. Seems like she labored over how and when to use it, she knew her husband was the loyal and faithful type! It didn't matter that she was drunk, got naked into a hot tub with another man, smoked pot, flirted and kissed him - it was wrong to even start and she knew it.

She had her fling, loved it and now wanted her former married, satisfying life back - she had an excuse.

Sorry MM, the solutions for this couple are not easy but they are also not compatable.

I can't see them staying together now, if there is a 3, they will end up swapping or something even more horrible will happen to Frank. Reading the background story was good,but it made her actions from the first chapter more despicable to me, as he loved her, took care of her. What a bitch. She never should have used it. No respect for her husband.

In this chapter, it was going well right up till he got drunk then it went completely in the toilet. Allan apologized earlier, and then got the shit kicked out of him when Frank was mad that: Marie cheated, Frank couldn't get it up, he yelled at Marie, Marie left, then he finds out the two bitches know his beloved Marie cheated.

I am curious how Sally and Margaret found out. His anger is justified, but getting drunk, waking up with a fat hooker? Cliche'.

I do wonder what will happen now. He couldn't get it up, and the two bitches are pissed they couldn't get it up.

Will he tell Marie? Will he tell her everyone knows she fucked Allan, thus emasculating him more? How will Marie handle her cheating now that all know?

MM, you write well and guess what - we get it. We all have different thoughts on life and reality. Uncomfortable still, he seems to have chosen to try and go forward.

As to a moment of weakness on her part. Sorry, she got haughty the first day, stormed off over something he had no control over and she would have known that, went and got frisky and slutty with the massage group and then accepts a date...the rest she consciously went along with (knowing she was wrong) and subconsciously not doing anything about stopping her adultery. Even if it got to where they decided to skinny dip - that would have been the critical stop point and she had no difficulty going past it. A bottle of courage helps but it doesn't stop the mind and common sense!!!

We heard Sweetie's rationale in the first part. It was plausible, but could easily have a lot of 'self-serving' in it as well! Now we hear about Hubby's talk with The Bull, and it establishes that Sweetie was, if anything, NOT availing herself of explanations that could have mitigated the intentionality of the tryst. Also, that The Bull was also deeply regretful of his actions, per se, and especially in their consequences on the marriage! In other words, it was written as almost the most innocent extra-marital tryst ever (short of a 'Halloween costume mixup')!

In other words, any angst of Hubby regarding either Sweetie or The Bull should have been TOTALLY resolved over this past year!...With or without professional help! Either by divorce with rancor (if Hubby is a real hard-ass) or acceptance.

In OTHER other-words, Ch.2 convinces me that Sweetie needs to make professional marital or personal counseling a condition if Hubby and she are to live in the same house. Hubby is deeply compromised and is unlikely to come out of it without assistance! The author has thrown a big monkey-wrench into this tale, after what I thought was a fairly well-settled situation at the end of Ch.1. Author Job Security?

I get the negative commenters. I'm inclined to enjoy the revenge stories more than the reconciliations too. My therapy background should lean me the other way. One uncomfortable feeling I have in this sort of ending is the lack of real remorse by the cheater. That's the central element of most successful reconciliations.

First half was the same as chapter 1 and the rest simply showed the guy to be a wimpy type. Marie will NEVER understand what she did until it happens to her. You can only begin to move forward when both are at the same place. He should have screwed all three of the women.

This felt like you didn't think it through. He's got all this pent up anger, yells at his wife and she goes home? Yep that's some communication skills. Then he gets drunk and hires a prostitute? Where did that come from? They haven't solved any of there issues. Never talking about it was what brought them to the point they're now at. Sure doesn't seem like a solution to me. This just made the first chapter worse.

I felt like chapter 1 was a complete story with an ending that resolved the one-time coupling with Allan. This add-on chapter really confuses the whole thing for me, especially Frank's anger and behavior. The notion that "everyone knows" leaves a sour aftertaste, too.

This second chapter took a mediocre story and made a total mess of it.

There's a complication here that makes this a loser for me. She has been sexually frigid for years. Yeah, I get why, she had a hysterectomy, felt old, had scars, blah blah, blah. She can't help it that she was sick, probably depressed. Poor lady. So she shuts down sexually. Poor lady. Poor man. He loves her so much that he stays with her. Some readers might say, "Well of course he should support the poor woman!" but it's no small thing to give up your sex life. In fact, it's a HUGE thing. He did it.

So she repays his sacrifice by sleeping with someone else. Gee, it seems her lover managed to get her motor started again. Pretty convenient, sexuality that is unavailable to your husband but turned on for a lover. Maybe it wasn't so far gone after all. Maybe it was unavailable because she was a bit of a bitch feeling sorry for herself and couldn't be bothered to meet her husband half way. Maybe her husband spoiled her and let her get away with this crap. It sure seemed to clear up when she wanted it to.

The whole "hall pass" baloney is a distraction. Sure he was a moron for giving her one. She can't turn on for him but he expects her to rev up for someone else? In the end she cheated for the same reasons that cheaters always do, because they are unfaithful and they can. All the hall pass did is grease the skids a bit.

This series just wasn't that good. She survived cancer, then probably due to the hysterectomy went into menopause and lost interest in sex. He wants her to become intimate with him, so his plan to give her a hall pass was stupid in the extreme. The trust, and the intimacy of their marriage was damaged (maybe beyond repair). She left their bedroom. She lost interest in sex and intimacy. She requested and wanted the hall pass. Some guys are horn dogs and will have sex with any female (regardless of marriage status), while others won't cheat on their partner (unless they are drugged out of their minds). Can they put this marriage back together? Maybe, but it will require counseling and she will need to move back into their bedroom and become intimate with him again. She had sex with someone else, and denied her husband for years (close to a decade), so why should he take her back?
