There is only one brief mention in the story of Dad who "didn't make it" to Heaven. What happens to those who don't make the cut? I find it hard to imagine that a God you portray as desiring all souls to experience bliss would sentence them to eternal screaming torment.

And what are the offenses that make one ineligible? Is it only to be "filled with hate"? Or if the highest form of worship is to give and receive love and pleasure, would an individual who has no hate in his or her heart, who has never harmed anyone, but who never really experienced a loving passionate relationship, be cast out from Heaven as well? Would the "40 year old virgin" be relegated to the eternal fire? Or perhaps, since you're willing to stray from the Catechism this far, perhaps you'd go a little farther and consider that such individuals, having missed the "point" of life, might be sentenced to go back and try again to do it better, in other words reincarnation?
