Husband says he has to go into work for an emergency, which is well within his job description and she decides that is a reason to fuck someone else? Then come home and rub his face in it? She's an idiot. He's well rid of her and her bitch sister but it was too easy because she's so stupid.

I have to agree, this can't be a Just Plain Bob story! We love JPB because we hate the storyline. Everyone needs someone to rag on. :-) The writing was rather tight and lucid. But I never said JPB was a bad writer. But the story was so compact and believable.

You write stories that piss off so many people, if reading the comments is anything to go by and then you turn it all around. Not only that, but you have mastered the short story genre which is one hell of a feat. And then you call yourself 'Just Plain Bob'.

I know this is kinda your style. But personally your brevity in the stories is somewhat frustrating and leaves us half full. Pity that I have to go to other writers to read conclusions to your stories! Most cannot write as well as you. Really quite a shame

great story, unfortunately, reality has it's own truth in the matter. he may not get ripped in the divorce, hopefully break even. why is it that the asshole who tempts the wife, or drugs her, or sets her up, gets a free pass. in this case I'd have to include her sister.

the first time I read it and like it now.

He found out his wife was a cheating slut. It would be one thing to make his life hell because she was angry but to take it as far as she did was totally unacceptable. It was apparent that she used her anger as an excuse to screw around and then had the audacity to think he would just sit and take it.

For the BTB fans, me included, it would have been nice to read about how she tried to correct her "mistake" and how she was made to suffer. The way JPB wrote it we can let our imaginations run wild. For those Reconcile At All Cost fans, they can imagine how the couple came to together and rode off into the sunset as a happy couple. Not likely but that's just me. Don't believe in RAAC.

I would say that they story is finished in spite of some of the comments.

I'm sure that JPB would be glad to refund any monies spent buying his story.

and I still liked it. I do believe that more retribution is due to all involved though. how can a guy screw up another guys marriage, with the help of a sister-in-law, and all walk away free? not in my book. well written, got me so hot, you don't want to know what I was thinking.

That is pretty much what cheating says. In this case, they had kids too. It also says that she didn't give a damn about the kids either. With the knowledge that cheating often ends in divorce and if not divorce a shitty marriage, a cheater is really saying:

"I am willing to cause immense pain to my spouse and my children, I am willing to cause financial hardship to my family and adversely effect the outcomes of my kids childhood all for a fuck."

If he stays and does not file for divorce, they all suffer and the kids might do slightly better. They also may not do better being trapped in a miserable family. In any case, the wife fucked everything up. If the world was fair she's simply leave with the shirt on her back. If the courts were fair, the judge would tell her to leave and when the oldest kid was finished with college, she'd get half the house. But the world is not fair, courts like to give kids to cheating sluts, even though it is clear that they really do not give a shit about their kids.

Her excuse was an all time low. She was pissed? What is she? A five year old with no control over her emotions or her actions? Dave was right. She stayed gone WAY too long if she had any hope of saving her marriage. But that wasn't really on her mind was it? She was pissed so she slept with another man and continued to fuck him in the morning instead of giving any consideration to what problems her actions might have started. Dumb bitch deserves to be divorced. She earned it.

I rarely ever read this dick head because 90% of the time he never finishes a story. The only reason I read this was because it was so short. 2 stars for 2/5ths of a story.

I agree that JPB leaves a lot of stories unfinished, but I think this tale, like the marriage it describes, is "all over bar the shouting."

I like JPB's short to the point style ! There was no violence or even shouting , just a man who could read the tea leaves and have enough sense to get out while the getting was good !

Life is way too short for putting up with shit that you have a modicum of control over . To me that is when a man becomes a man and is no longer a immature kid in a man's world.

What has he got to lose in this scenario ? His wife just did the worst thing that a loving partner in a marriage (man or woman) and then acted as though she was so nonplussed about it that she was going to do it again . Who the hell would want to live with a shrew like that ? He sounds like he has a good job , and he might take a monetary hit for a year or two, but he will overcome this in time, whereas she, unless she marries money , will see her lifestyle spiral downward after a few years.

And as far as female companionship , I doubt he will be without very long. As a very wise uncle once told me when I had my first puppy love heartbreak ;we had went to the hospital together to see my Grandmother after she had surgery and I had been moping around the whole time , he took me down to the room where you view newborns through a window , and he said look there, half of those are girls ! So when one breaks your heart , mourn for one day then go find a replacement because as you can plainly see, they make them every Damn day ! Best advice I've ever gotten in my whole life !

The only thing wrong with this story is that it's too short. Would have loved to hear how the wife relates to the bitch of a sister who was probably trash-talking the husband all along.

Good story but too short! What about the aftermath???

Women get mad when they think they husband isn't listening to them; but it has been my experience that wives don't even pretend to listen. And when women get an idea in their head, no evidence is enough to change their minds. And 18 hours with a man she has just met can totally destroy years of life with a loving husband. Even her children are of no importance. Cheating wives don't just destroy husbands and marriages; they destroy children as well.

Diane put David in a situation with few choices. If she stayed after being humiliated by wife and sister in law, there would be no respect in marriage. Diane didn't come home remorseful but bragging about multiple times having sex over an 18 hour span and came home sober without a hangover. She had to be pretty dumb to wait till almost dark the next day to come home talking about getting nailed again. I normally like reconciliation but wife trying to humiliate husband after acting like a slut at her sister's home, is to much for most guys .

For, what it was, it was worth reading.

This story has mores holes in it than aged swiss cheese has! ~ First,since the couple has only been married for 18 years,the 3 children are all at home and in school still so it's unlikely that Diane is going to do anything to risk hurting them. Secondly,unless she has concrete proof that her husband is cheating,is she really going to fuck another guy and then rub it in hubby's face?!After knowing him for well more than 18 years doesn't she have a clue that he's not going to accept being made a cuck?! And finally,with 3 under 18 children,she's gonna get custody and the house so why would she leave?
