HP21, I am genuinely impressed by how your writing evolves and matures. Action scenes and enviroment/world details are orders of magnitude better, and Kara's spirit and state of mind are more vivid and detailed. All the waiting and uncertainty were worth it.

P.S. Will we know the Violinist's fate in the revised version?

I was refusing to give up on this story being finished and I am so glad you have decided to re work it because I enjoyed it the first time and surprisingly ch.1 is better than I remember and I mean that in a good way. I dont normally read such dark stories but for some reason I started the original and couldnt stop despite how uncomfortable the story made me at times. To me the fact that you could make me feel that way but continue to read it was a credit to your writing. But then there were also tender moments that I have often reread because they were so good. Thank you so much. I cant wait to see the other changes you make and to find out how this ends. This is the best news EVER!!! :)

@Naval_Nonperson: I am SO glad the Lit Mods finally approved the story, lol. I was actually pretty depressed when I saw that it had been initially rejected, but all is well that ends well! And thanks so much for the kind words. I worked really, really hard on the revised version and it feels so good to know that it paid off. As to your question, I actually do mention the violinist briefly in TRS Ch. 02, just because I got so many questions about her. It's amazing what readers latch onto. Believe it or not, I read through every single comment on every single chapter as I was editing, specifically so I could remember to address the most frequently asked questions throughout.

@Curvygirl00: Thanks so much! TRS can definitely be a bit on the dark side, even for the Nonconsent/Reluctance Category. But, at the same time, I think that darknes is necessary in order to ensure the internal consistency of the story. I wanted to write about a war-torn world, and war does strange things to people and shapes societies in bizarre ways. That being said, I think the new version of TRS--while still just as dark as the original--has a lot more of the tender, more loving scenes that you enjoy. I tried to pepper those in a bit more and also include more sex scenes since, you know, this is an erotica site. And while I worked hard to make the writing read a lot smoother, I also beefed up the content quite a bit. You can see that a little bit in this chapter, but I think the new stuff is a lot more prominent starting in TRS Ch. 02, when we're introduced to all the major players. ;)

MUCH, much better! I can tell how much you've cleaned the story up. It's written much better this go-around. I had to leave work so that I could sit down and read this! I'm so glad to see our girl is still as feisty and fiery as ever. Can't wait to see our favorite villain!

Are you still going to post on the two-week schedule or would you consider posting the first three back-to-back? I only ask because the Lit mods put you three weeks behind posting schedule and I'd love love love you forever if you'd consider it.

It's true I promised two chapters this month and failed to deliver, due to some submission issues, so I'll go ahead and post TRS Ch. 02 in a few days. But, I do like to do one super, final read-through before posting and tweak as necessary, so I will need those days. (I'm sorry, I've become a bit of a perfectionist, lol.) Honestly, I am just as excited to get back to Lord Arlington as you guys are. I'm also super excited to see the response to TRS Ch. 02. It's in my top five "Hardest Chapters to Edit" and I am so happy with how it turned out. I cleaned it up and added a decent amount of content, but I am especially pleased with the new character introductions. Everyone feels a lot more 3D now.

So glad you're back! I really love the depth and detail you've added to literally everything! I'm one of those naughty people that copied all of the old TRS, and you're only one chapter in and my mind is already blown!

It's weird looking back at the old timeline of the story; where I was in my life when you were posting (and not posting), and everything that changed in those periods. It's kinda shocking that this story has not only been continuing to improve for so long, but that it's something that I kept coming back to again and again. Being able to engage with Kara, who's not only well written from a literary perspective, but is also a whole and well-rounded person, who is so fucking strong and still submissive, has been such a rock in my life. Her resilience and your fantastic writing has helped keep me together through some real shit since I started reading it in 2013.

Like countless thousands across the world I too am so incredibly grateful for the extraordinary story you've written. In my eyes, it is the best story on literotica, end of. Thank you for every ounce of tenacity, strength, ambition and dedication you've put into it. And a thank you even more so, if you ever felt like ditching the whole thing and didn't, for facing all the frustration and difficulties such a mammoth task must have caused along the way.

As others have mentioned again and again, you have created a vibrant and complex world full of real people, which as a reader envelopes me to the point that I feel like a silent companion to Kara and the gang - whether I'm snatching glances out the side of a speeding getaway van whilst being shot at, or sharing a drink at the pub. I can relate to Kara (it helps I'm also a brunette medic ;) ) but you have also humanised your neutrals and your villains such that they are so inherently understandable! (Excusable is, of course, another matter :P)

So far as posting is concerned, take your time - you've done all the work after all! And given in some ways I don't want this story to be over I think some deferred gratification sounds alright by me - the next few months sound very pleasant indeed.

It is such a special thing, and I hope the thousands of comments, messages and favourites you have received since you began have provided you with a warm fluffy feeling of reward to make it all worth it! Now I hope, at least, you get to take a break!

@estate: Thanks for your comment, and for your questions! To answer your first one, yes. I will absolutely be continuing the Tale of Arlington. The main story honestly doesn't make any sense without it, though I know a lot people don't particulary like those chapters. The way the story is now structured, The Tale of Arlington will gradually merge in with the main story until they are basically one and the same. There is definitely lots of new content in that vein. To answer your next question, yes again! I will be putting up a blog eventually, though I don't want to committ to a specific release date yet. If I had to make I guess, I'd say a bare bones version will likely be up sometime in the next month.

@LemonLimeBitters: There are actually some pretty significant differences between the two versions of the story. I wouldn't say the direction of the plot has changed and all the major plot points are still there, but I've added/expounded upon a lot of interactions and inserted some more scenes for atmosphere/world building/character developement/sexy reasons. For example, the waterfall scene in TRS Ch. 01 is totally new. That just didn't exist in the original version, where Kara pretty much gets captured immediately and the initial chase scene and ensuing struggle is rather stunted. There's even more stuff like that in TRS Ch. 02 and most especially in TRS. Ch. 09, since I really felt like the first Kara/Arlington sex scene was super rushed and needed a lot more flavor.

@kdlucas: Hello, and thanks for the favorite! This story isn't new to Literotica and neither is the pen name, but I deleted all the old chapters in order to post the revised version of the story in its entirety. If you favorite stories instead of authors, that would explain why the favorite disappeared. But, I am the original author of TRS and the story was originally posted here.

Even though I write this story for free and on my own time, I made a lot of promises I couldn't keep and that was extremely unfair. I'm going to do my best to be more reliable in the future, but of course, it's always risky to invest in a series that isn't posted in its entirety yet. As for getting a "book deal"? That's not gonna happen. For one, I don't want to sell TRS. Never have, never will. I am flattered by everyone's offers to buy the story, but for very personal reasons, I have no intention of publishing. Even if I did, no one is going to put their publishing label on noncon, especially not darker stuff like TRS. Perhaps I could release something on Smashwords and I may very well put a free version of the story on there eventually, but a book deal? Nah, I don't think that's likely.

This is a factor, I guess. However, for me it is more about the music itself - the idea of someone touching me on the inside as well as outside at the same time... But I digress. What I actually wanted to say is that I support your decision to publish TRS one chapter at a time - despite how sadistic those two-week intervals are. I binged on the old version to my own detriment - an overwhelming desire to know what happens next meant paying less attention to detail. Also I believe that this story deserves to be read and discussed - thus, building a community of fans (which takes time) is a noble pursuit.

TRS Ch. 02 has been submitted for approval and publication! It took a bit longer than I thought (as usual, lol), but only because it is absolutely massive. There are ~10k words of additional content, including a lot more in the way of world-building, character interactions, and other such fun. I'm worried it may be a little too long, but you guys have never complained about that before. :)

A bit of a rushed comment sadly, but I'm super happy to see a new chapter (this has been sitting on my tabs since the day you posted this version, I've only just had the time to read it). The Rebellious Slave was (and is) one of my favourite stories on the site, and did a lot for inspiring me to take up writing of my own.

The chapter itself is a wonderful expansion of the original version, giving us a lot more information on her capture and the trade, whilst still keeping true to the original. I remembered the ice pack part vividly and am glad you kept it in (even if it's mean on Kara). This really does help establish Kara in an even stronger light, which is a wonderful feat in its own right given how well she was presented originally.

A brilliant return to form. Keep up the amazing work!

I was gonna re-read TRS because po4n wasn't really doing much and I needed something well written and interesting.

I used to copy/paste it to my memo on my ipod touch and read it at my till when I had no customers at work!
