I loved it!
Great story about a truly loving wife, and husband as well. The scene with the unspoken communication between Mike and Linda is wonderful. That communication and Mike's response to Joyce make the story a real keeper. One of your best.
Thanks.
Patricia51, you are one of the best authors around here. I eagerly await your stories.
Pat, it's me again ... I'm glad we heard about Joyce and how she and Pat became lovers (and also about Pat's police officer past) and how Joyce turned out, and how she wasn't nasty when Mike informed her how he and Pat had become a monogamous couple. I wish it was that easy in real life for people not to fall prey to temptation. But to the poster two down from me ... did you get the names "Joyce" and "Linda" mixed up? Linda isn't in this story. I get a sinking feeling that she's gone, killed by someone, by now.
it seems that roughly for 25% of the population, that's their "boring" life: living, fighting, and loving together as a couple, no matter what they did when they're younger, with others
as we know, roughly 50% of the population gets divorced; the other 25% are probably not having a good, stable family life, even if they stayed together
intelligent people, even when they make mistakes or "explore" life's many possibilities (after they've done it), choose a certain healthy life trajectory and stick with it; and if they found that other someone who seek the same thing, they survive to hold hands, walking shakingly, as an elderly couple, across the street
two elderly people holding hands, walking across a street or amidst a field of grassy dandalions --- to me, is more erotic than a woman being roughly physically and mentally "taken" by one big guy or a couple, sometimes strangers, against a woman's will and still later we supposedly "hear" from her, moaning: "oh, give it to me, give it to me, all your" blah, blah,,, whether it is in "Loving Wives" or in "Romance" ---
that's crazy; in fact, crazy and unthoughtful acts and behaviors, though "romantic" and "thrilling," are the things that --- in real life --- get, annually, about 13 million cases of STDs and hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of HIV cases, in America alone, spread around, sometimes contaminating our blood supply in banks, etc.
