Fun read. I'm thinking something akin to a clone spell though that's pretty damn high level. Or maybe someone had a ring or sword of wishes. Wasn't there something like that in the loot from the dragon at the beginning of this story? That could have been used for a true resurrection spell. If we are going by D&D rules here. ;) Still very nicely done.

Your writing is impeccable. I don’t know where you come up with your main characters, where you come up with your plots, but everything you publish is (has been) a joy to read.

Someone compared you to Tefler and said you’re not quite in his league. That’s so false. You are, to quote one of your stories, in a class of your own. You write in different genres.

I think you wouldn’t kill off the main character and his love interest. But what I truly truly love is how worried you made me. The suspense, the subterfuge - like The Palace, in all your stories, the spy games are wonderful. I love reading how your characters end up with their happy ending.
