Very similar situation happened to me. Trust was broken to the point of no repair. I felt lucky to get away without physical damage. On line can really make huge problems and misunderstandings are so easy to be part of the deal. The main thing I will say is to Not make a "Permanent' or "Forever" promise, deal, contract or any time consuming situation until you know the person personally and physically for a few months.
