katgoddess1over 10 years agoIt seems that no matter how hard you try,some secrets just don't stay secret. Now that he is aware of what Taela knows, Ryan should inform Betty, and encourage her to explain about the brain parasite and that Shorty is a true part of the family.

Not sure where I got this bit from, maybe a really ancient 'Twilight Zone' or even that other and rather similar show, 'The Outer Limits'. I can't say how it came to me. But if my influence was from one of these, then I was a really little kid at the time and probably peeking out from behind the end of the couch when I really ought to have been asleep in my bed. I used to do that if I wasn't asleep yet and I heard what to me sounded like really interesting dialog.
It didn't always work out well for me, though. Sometimes, I'd get my ass paddled before I was sent back to bed.
One time, my folks were watching Alfred Hichcock's "The Birds", and another time, it was "Hush hush, sweet Charlotte" and I became an instant insomniac for about a week, a little kid lying wide-eyed in fright.
cittranover 10 years agoFrom what I can tell was implied -- but not directly said -- Taela's father was being controlled/influenced by some type of cranial parasite, which was killed by Taela's mother when she shot it as it crawled from her father's dying body.
This was (implied) to be the thing which caused his abnormal -- and disturbing -- behavior.
Did I get that right, TaLtos?
(And if I did get it right, there are real-world parallels which exist, such as certain types of parasites; they infest insects, have them crawl to the tops of blades of grass, and get eaten by predators, which the parasites then reproduce inside.)
